This Cub fan has been waiting 45 years to finally feel confident enough to believe they can go all the way! However, and I'm sure I speak for many Cub fans when I say its way too easy to get overly excited about the Cubbie's going all the way. 1984, 1989, 1998, and 2003 all come to mind. Will the Cubs beat the Pirates tonight? Yes, I most certainly do believe they will. Nothing against the Pirates, but I'm of the personal belief the Cardinals are the only team standing in the way of the Cubs taking the whole thing this year. I shall be bringing a photo of my grandma with me from now until the Cubs are crowned WS champs! Sadly, my grandma passed away last year having never gotten to a Cubs WS game ... in 1945 she was offered a chance. She decided instead to go hang out with her girlfriends figuring the Cubs were good enough then that they would be back in the Series ... 2003, the latest last hope has come and gone. I wish she were here to witness what I truly hope is history in the making.
