Wonders of Hungary - Pécs Cathedral

Although the foundations of St Peter and St Paul (Szent Péter és Szent Pál) Cathedral in Pécs date back to the 11th century, the building, which has suffered a lot in the storms of history, has been rebuilt countless times over the years. The most defining elements of its current form are due to the reconstruction works of the 19th century, and regular maintenance preserves its excellent condition. The organ is also special, as the classic 19th-century instrument received digital control during its renovation. The church is made special not only by its four towers but also by its impressive interior decoration. These qualities rightly elevate it among Hungary's architectural wonders.
