Even without the One True Boyle thing, I’m sure Charles would have come to terms with this eventually. After all, he has an adopted son and I’m sure that he’s raising him as a Boyle. It would have been nice to see some of his nicer family members reassure him.
In my opinion, writers messed up with this.They did it purely for shock value and it sort of fell flat since it was too late in the show to really have an impact. Being Boyle is his whole personality and making him have and then overcome his identity crisis in 10 minutes... was rushed and underwhelming.
Yeah, this shoulda been stretched over like half of a seaon, Idk which one's would support the timeline needed though, as I juts watch CZcams clips, and not the actual show.

It's strange for such a huge departure of normalcy to be graced over so quickly irl

If this episode really ended with him not being a Boyle, this is the episode that gets skipped in the binge. The Office had Scott's Tots, Community had most of season 4, Workaholics had that weird acid trip technology paranoia where Blake went on a scifi rant, 99 has this.
I may not agree on the rest, but I too am refusing to consider this as canon. It feels like a last minute throwaway idea that was meant to make the last season feel eventful
Scott’s tots wasn’t a bad episode tho. It was meant to be cringe, and it definitely succeeded in that. Imo, the office episode that gets skipped would be most of s8 and 9. That’s just my opinion tho.
Scotts Tots was meant to showcase that Erin (if that's how it's spelled) could replace Pam as Michael's secretary. Which she proves by the end by comforting Michael in the car.

I hate to say it but a lot of the NBC era did more harm than good (where they damaged their show/characters for plots/jokes that really weren't worth it) I'm not saying every ep was bad (because there were some Gems like Ticking Clocks, Hitchcock and Scully, Trying and Golden Child) but tbh if the show ended during Fox I think I would remember it more fondly than I will now

The characters seem dramatized and they appear like they have become caricatures of themselves , at least in some of the episodes There are some great standalones , though

So disappointed with this story line - Charles not being a Boyle. Just a poor choice on behalf of the writers. Just as in the season’s first episode Rosa laments the crimes by the NYPD but than breaks the law by breaking into one of the offices. To find evidence of wrongdoing by policemen, yes, I understand, but you cannot call out someone for doing illegal actions and then go ahead and do something illegal yourself.
