Basically hydrometer used for finding a density ,but mud balance direct proportional relationship between density and weight because the weight of mud working like hydrostatic pressure in drilling useful for a Pressure control. In mud balance sample temperature does not effect the density of the fluid but in the case of hydrometer you have to control the temperature during the test.Mud balance is very easy and handy to perform the test.
