Fujitsu Lifebook T725/T726 is my perfect laptop even better than a new U7312 I just bought from Japan. Alder Lake is power hungry and U7312 have no ability to have 2 battery which total up to 100wh while having efficient Broadwell/Skylake. U7312's battery capacity is half that yet the cpu is power-hungry and overheating. The fan has never turned up on the T725 I have before and it's even better when I undervolt it and limit TDP to only 13-15w. I don't know why I waste $800 on a laptop that is worse than my old one so I think I will return the U7312 after I find some cracks on the Bezel I never dropped the laptop so that means the laptop did itself so that's point it's crossed the line for me and opt for the T726 instead which has more efficient Skylake and DDR4 RAM. I think Alder Lake is a failed attempt to be an Apple M1 even AMD is more efficient but not many use AMD CPU let alone Fujitsu. The fact that Intel locked the undervolt on an Alder Lake is not helping the situation with a U7312. I will keep a T726 until I see a better laptop out there which most likely not gonna happen not even the Lenovo Thinkpad nowadays.
I can't speak for the 12th gen Intel CPUs but I have been very happy with the 10th and 13th gen in their battery life and general performance. I have a Framework laptop with a 13th gen i7 that has been absolutely phenomenal. The Fujitsu laptop is still actively being used. Maybe not for education as much as I would like but it does get a lot of time playing Minecraft as of late.
