I was in the third grade when this movie was out. I had the poster and all. This movie was about many people's lives at one time or another. It makes me sad because it still rings true to this day. Many people have perished due to substance abuse addictions...and many will continue. Count your blessings every day.
Thomas Newman has created some of the most beautiful music ever . These films were great too, and his soundtracks we're a huge part. But this one, and Compass & Guns from Shawshank Redemption make me cry every time.
I loved this movie since its release. Then I literally lived it. Addiction is pure evil. I broke free but lost several dear friends along the way. I recently watched it again and it took on new meaning. This score in particular gives me goosebumps every time. It elicits so many emotions and memories. I dont know if Hollywood will ever produce anything like this ever again.
Haunting and beautiful . When you combine it with the scene it scores in the movie, it’s even more lovely. Just sounds like a soul leaving this earth. For aa much better place.

The Beauty of Melancholy
This song is so powerful in the scene of Julian’s death. The first time I saw this movie I teared tf up.
It's impossible to hear this without closing your eyes.
