10:36 I had no idea the music tests were not popular. They are my favorite part of the Podcastage videos and I replay them at least 5 times per video. I like to open multiple reviews at once to compare the tone of the guitars (or rather, the tone of the microphones) and I also like the funny lyrics. Please continue to put the same amount of effort into them because I love them. I guess I should've known I was an outlier though, because I do check BandrewPlays once a week for new uploads, which is strange to do for a channel that only uploads 6 videos a year.

I'd agree. Bandrew's music tests remain one of the Unique Selling Points of his channel. Others have adopted pretty much wholesale his outline of the mic feature review and mass comparison segmenrs, but I've not seen anyone else that can play/sing. And if it brings him joy, that's even better.

Wow. That was a long super thanks. Sorry for making you read all that. 😆
Thanks for clarifying your position on meaning/happiness. I must have misunderstood your conclusion on that previous episode. I loved hearing your in depth thoughts and personal experience finding meaning.
The Big Foot thing was supposed to be a tinfoil hat tongue twister but you nailed it.
Sorry for oversharing. I was trying to give context for why I binge watched your videos and didn't want to do the vague "I recently went through a tough time."
I appreciate your condolences though. Renee was a wonderful woman, wife, and mother. She was a gifted researcher and writer. The last couple of years she had been working on a blog to help people/families overcome technology addictions in various forms.

Danke! First things first - this was a very entertaining and educational podcast video again! Your pronunciation of my name, including my surname, has become overwhelmingly perfect and probably better than doing it myself. Min. 31:00 Our brains seem to function in a similar way. When creating my post including this new version of your name - Barbarandrew - this old song cover by the Beach Boys came into my mind. By the way the entire text was generated by MOB-AI (MyOwnBrain-AI). I hope everything is going well for you 🙏. Greetings from Konstanz at the Bodensee (my current working place).

Hi Bandrew! Thank you for the great podcast as always.
10:30 I was not interested in your music demos in Podcastage channel mic reviews because I first found your video when I was looking for a mic for gaming and singing streaming. At the time what I cared the most was not music tests(I was thinking I'm not playing instruments anyway) but the other parts, such as multiple types of rejection tests, mic comparisons, overall thoughts...... But after I got my idea of which mic I'm to get , I'm just looking for fun watching your contents, even having fun watching those reviews that I have zero desire getting one. And I found myself more and more enjoying your music tests in reviews! I'm thinking it's because most of people searching for reviews may not consider getting mics for music recording(I might be wrong because I'm not a musician), especially when you're reviewing a "podcast" mic(If I'm recording instruments I might just go for SDCs in most of situations). It might be the reason why people are watching music testing parts in your reviews less than other parts, even though I like your music tests so much now. Another point I'm thinking is that there's an inevitable limitation of those music tests(demos), which is ones may not using the specific guitar your using, and the sound characteristics are so different that they may get less information out of those tests. In my own experience, I have completely different sound from yours, so even though I'd heard your singing demo, I got to learn not so much about the mic you're reviewing from that part.

15:33 As for your question of why streamers are making those "hydration moves", my own experience is that when I'm gaming, I forget to hydrate frequently. Streamers might forget hydrating, too, so they asked their audience to remind them hydrating. As time goes, one popular streamer might come up with an idea to ask his/her audience to hydrate to let them do the same thing when he was hydrating and got the feeling that they were being with the streamer. Other streamers just copied the idea so you see a lot of the streamers doing so. Pure guess, don't take it seriously.
And also, hydrates more than only hydrates when only one's thirsty is good for the sake of health!

I guess I'm an oddball (surprised?). I usually fast forward and watch the music parts of your reviews if nothing else. I guess hearing someone talk into the back part of a mic or 4 feet off of it like NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO doesn't appeal to me.

The iPod started supporting video with, what, the 5th generation? 2005 or so? We call them "podcasts" BECAUSE OF the iPod, and sure, they started out as audio only because space and bandwidth concerns made video impractical back then, but it only stood to reason that as those factors allowed for it, video podcasts would become common. Therefore, the purists are not allowed to complain about the term "video podcasts." I have spoken. 😁

I thought of the title comparison idea, too, but I think it might lead to yt videos being even more clickbaity. The AI movie recap apocalypse is bad enough already without the built in assistance.

Knowing full well that I could look this up, I really have no idea what live monitoring would help me accomplish. I often teach Zoom classes and find it annoying to wear IEMs. I’m not going to put on headphones and look like a tool. I always thought people in radio/recording industry wore headphones so that only they could hear a sound engineer or whatever talking to them. This talking would not get airplay or would not make it on a take.

My first observation is that without headphones you interfere with your hat, and even hair, far more than in other videos.
My second is that "wow, whoever sold you the black glasses was unkind". The odd thing is that rather than the black glasses merely dominating your face they somehow exaggerate your nose. I saw like the Groucho Marx dress up glasses (sans mustache). Obviously the effect is exaggerated by the close camera position. They also sat too far up your face, so your eyes were very central in the lens, giving a magnifying glass effect! . Your **granny** glasses sit much better on your face. 🎉
My third observation (from watching 'tube for the past 9 months) is that the first thing to select when starting a podcast appears to be a hat, unless blessed with great hair like say Tom Buck and various mega-quiffs out there.
PS: love your "there are no outtakes" mentality on this channel.
Additional thought, I reckon the AI comment from last time was thinking, someone could take a transcript and revoice it using AI. So they steal your material and spit it back out. Like a shorts mill. There seem to be a lot of "best of" videos that use AI voice reading a script and just loop the official product trailer as video. Ghastly once you realise...

The problem with this let's just say I'm doing research or looking for videos on a specific topic and it shows me a video and I'm like oh I'll watch that later or I'll watch that tomorrow or something when I I'm not currently busy dealing what I'm doing, next time it shows me that video it has a different thumbnail but I recognize the title so I realize it's the same video and maybe I click on it because well I wanted to watch it anyways and just happens that right now I have free time when when I saw the last thumbnail I was busy doing something and didn't have time to watch it
Also after I've already watched it I notice it may show me that video again a couple days later with even a different thumbnail so yeah that's a problem I think, I don't think this is going to be 100% accurate due to things like this

I'v never heard a streamer telling people to hydrate :P But I've seen many viewers telling the streamer to do it via channel points :P And that direction (viewer to streamer) I can understand, cause you can forget things while streaming (eating, drinking, moving around a bit).
I wish you didn't think about your voice in regards to manliness. You have a man's voice regardless, and it's not really connected to manliness.
You say you use the hat to cover how gray you have become, yet you wear it backwards so the gray shows through the opening 😄 And there's nothing wrong with graying! And they Wayfearers look cool too!
