    Thank you for this. All 3 very helpful. More cruising the menus than the cut. lol. Here I am in 2021 and just bought one for my "home " movies.

    Very happy for your 3 instructional videos on x920 menus. Very helpful - thanks

    A really helpful video. Thank you. It's ridiculous that Panasonic don't make informative videos like this and instead expect you to work things out with their unhelpful manual. Thanks again.

      Thank you! I wasn't sure if it would be too dry so it's great to get positive feedback. Will definitely be doing the WiFi run-through soon.

    Thank you very much the videos were a great help but like some others some of my menus were missing but thanks to you I haven't started pulling my hair out yet.

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 9 lety

      David Henderson Usually if certain menus don't appear then you've either got the camcorder in playback mode instead of record, or in Cinema mode instead of fully manual. Glad the video's been helpful!

    I have just bought Panasonic 920. Have set-up via on your videos very helpful, I have version 1.2. In record set up have only 1-5 pages you have 8. I dont get Zebra bars etc. Contact Panasonic say got current version no upgrade. Confusing as said yours may be USA version. Same as question from John below

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 9 lety

      shirley ward No, mine was the UK version. You're almost certainly in Auto mode or Playback mode rather than Record mode in full Manual; only in the latter do you get all the menus.

    Which settings from mic panel works with external mic?

  • @HuntersFan
    @HuntersFan Před 10 lety

    Thanks for the reviews. I watched them all because I am thinking of buying X920 or HF G25. You mentioned that it's easier in Canon to adjust exposure, cause you can assign this function to a knob. How do you adjust exposure in Panasonic during recording? Is it troublesome? Could you share your opinion on which camera out of these two is better for recording weddings?

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 10 lety

      Yes, the G25 has a small thumbwheel on the back which you can (fairly easily) adjust while shooting; the Panasonic only has a single control wheel (round the lens) which is for focus or zoom; exposure adjustments either have to be automatic or you press a button on screen to bring up the menu, then press Iris then press up or down to change it, so it's very fiddly especially while trying to film!!
      So unless you're willing to trust the camera's automatic exposure, I would rate the G25 as the more realistic option for a wedding as when filming live events you really need to be able to adjust things quickly and without fuss.

    Very nice and helpful series of videos but as others mentioned, the missing elements issue from our menus (such as "mf assistant" element) is very confusing. Any idea why this happening?

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 10 lety

      Sorry for the delayed reply... as I mentioned to the other person here, some of the menus do not show if you have switched the camcorder to "photo" mode rather than "video" mode - so please do check that you have the correct setting!

    Just bought this camera and liking your vids very much. I've just one problem that maybe you can help me with.
    I've searched the Panasonic support but can't find anywhere the version update download. My version on camera is 1.2 and I have a Apple mac setup.
    Seems odd that I can't find the download page. If you know where it is could you send me a link, would help loads.

      Dharmik Soni I don't understand your question. What kind of problem do you mean? I can't just describe "problems" if you don't explain what you're worried about.

      @UKAirscape  Před 9 lety

      Dharmik Soni There was no problem with it; I sold it so that I could buy another one and do another video about the new camcorder. I do not have lots of money, I have to sell one camcorder to buy the next!

      @UKAirscape  Před 10 lety

    Just a bizarre question, I have just ordered two of these cameras, yes, even in 2020. I am not wanting 4k, the file sizes are too unwieldy and the price jump is crazy. I am a bit confused on the firmware updating process. What do I need to download, and what all needs to be updated? Some of Panasonic's cameras have as many as three different firmware's that have to be updated (lense, body, and something else that slips my mind).

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 3 lety

      On the x920, being an "all in one" camcorder, there would only be one firmware to update.

  • @tollbar5468
    @tollbar5468 Před 9 lety

    I note with some confusion that Panasonic have scaled their Microphone Input Level to +12dB. Surely as this is digital it should be at 0dB? Canon's G25/30 and quite a few audio recorders I have seen, all have their max levels at 0dB. The last time I saw +12dB scaled was on an analogue VU meter. Any thoughts? > Cheers

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 9 lety

      dBs are all relative so you can set maximum digital signal (all 1s in the bytes) to read, in dB, whatever you want - then the rest of the markings are relative to that (if that makes sense).
      So you are correct in remembering the old analogue scale, which is essentially what Panasonic are replicating.

    Hi 👋 there,
    Does this camcorder has an option to zoom preset? So next time I can just start to record instead
    of zooming in first? I know I had an option like that on Canon camcorder

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 7 lety

      I don't recall an option as such; it either remembers it or doesn't. Unfortunately I can't remember which, sorry.

    • @UKAirscape
      @UKAirscape  Před 10 lety

      I didn't make a note of the firmware version at the time but as far as I'm aware there haven't been any updates, at least, none are showing on Panasonic's UK support site.
