- This is my third Action figure on the Battle of Okinawa .The Battle of Okinawa (Japanese: 沖縄戦, Hepburn: Okinawa-sen), codenamed Operation Iceberg, was a major battle of the Pacific War fought on the island of Okinawa by United States Army and United States Marine Corps (USMC) forces against the Imperial Japanese Army. The initial invasion of Okinawa on 1 April 1945 was the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Another great figure Lorenzo, I still have my big original GI Joe's from my childhood and these figures really bring back great memories, :)
G.I.Joe start everything the 12' figure from the 60's and 70's and in the 80's Hasbro start new series of 3" Action figures in the 90's Ultimate soldier start a new line of 12" action figures more accurate with all kind of vehicles but at the end of the 90's close their production because they say they were not politicly correct for kids so in 2000 Dragon a Chinese company decide to start and brought action figures to another level 1/6 scale (12") very close to reel peoples redesign all the figures to be lots more movable with huge vehicles more expensive and lot more accurate, in 2015 another era of figures came up with other company include dragon in dream (DID) so realistic and accurate so peoples from all over the world start to buy them and a regular figure in CAD money is worth $300 or more the are no more kids play dolls because of their accuracy and political and ideology they are not kids toys anymore with so much small parts any items are museum grade display looks reel so I'm sure hasbro when they star 12" G.I.Joe never thought it will go to this level of quality. Hey guys, I'm just a 'newby' to this fascinating hobby. Any idea where any main dealers are for these figures in the US? I have a couple of US figures and a 1/6th Command Vehicle but would like to start collecting British WW2 figures, seeing as I'm a Brit living in Florida. Another question, are there any nationwide (US) conventions or 'meets' where these figures are featured and perhaps sold or traded?
Hi ,First Welcome to the awesome hobby one dealer that I use for new action figures is www.monkeydepot.com or you can go to eBay for older figures still new and collectables and for less money this should be good for a start their many other companies and site his you look if you look for 1/6 scale action figures thanks for watching
