Dr. White contributes much to the body of Christ! He is respectful of all groups and is a shining example of speaking the truth in love. That's why his comments about marriage here shock me. I'm a Christian woman, I'm over 30 and capable of social interaction with or without a device and/or social media. It has always been the desire of my heart to marry and have children, but only if it is a Christ centric relationship. I chose Christ over comfort and convenience and I'd choose Him every time. I count it all joy. That doesn't mean it's not difficult to do. It doesn't mean that no tears have been shed or no sleepless nights passed. It breaks my heart to hear a brother in Christ suggest, even jokingly, that not being married by 30 is an indication that you are doing something wrong. My sense is, those who are unfamiliar with the painful side of being a single adult Christian desiring marriage take it lightly enough to jest. The experience of single adult Christians, within the context of churches that are typically centered on family units, is challenging enough. I would have loved to marry young and have children, grand-children, great-grand-children; but, that option wasn't available to me. It is my practice to assume positive intent; so, if this comment ever makes its way to him....I just hope he will consider that to many Christians who desire marriage his words sting. I'm all for jokes, but this one did not adorn the message that he was sharing well. Grace & Peace

You are in my prayers. Be encouraged to know that you are married to Jesus. He loves you, and may very well desire to keep you all to himself. Trust him for that godly, Christ centered man that you need, and keep giving him thanks. You will be all that God wants you to be. Thank you for sharing your heart.

And one of you would perform the actions of the inmates of Hell, until there is only one cubit between him and Hell. Just because we are older and unmarried doesn't mean:
      1) we haven't had the opportunity in the past and chose not to for varying reasons (such as my own experience),
      2) it isn't something we may sincerely desire and are working toward,
      and/or
      3) it is because of some major character flaw on our parts (immaturity, lack of desire/seriousness toward marriage, etc.).
Like you said, marriage isn't like buying a tank of gasoline at a gas station and choosing between regular, premium or diesel fuel; it has multiple factors. I'm in a pretty liberal state and, for the vast majority of those who are religious, are Jewish or Catholic.

How was that last part a contradiction? From what I understood it means this, someone can live a full life of righteousness that will get him into paradise, but right before he dies he commits "shirk" for example and that will grant him hellfire. The other way around someone can commit atrocious acts their whole life, but God in all his mercy, will forgive that person if they did such a righteous deed with true intentions, maybe an example being they are a millionaire and decide to give all their wealth and possessions to the poor, again that is not a perfect example but we are not God, he is the knower of all things and the true intentions of hearts. Makes perfect sense to me, there is only one God and he alone shall be worshipped.

However, many of his misunderstandings about the Islam law because of his insufficient knowledge. Let me give you another perspective. The Bahá’í perspective. As Baha’is we believe that God has given us an eternal covenant, that God will never leave us to our own devices. When we are in the most need of them God sends another Messenger for that time.
The Messengers of God are like perfectly polished mirrors shining the light of God for that age. They all might look different from each other but they all have that same function. To reflect that one same source of light, which is Gods revelation. Their words are all one of the same, the Holy Spirit works through them to give the message of God for that specific Dispensation. But when humanity transgresses away from revelation. God sends down another, in His name to represent Him, bringing forth a book and a new revelation.
In the Bahá’í Faith we call this progressive revelation.
There are so many passages in the Bible that show there is a direct dichotomy between Christ’s station and God’s station. For example; it says In the Bible “Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father”.
Just one dichotomy between Christ and Gods station. The passage “I and the father are One” doesn’t mean They’re both the same entity. I can be one with my wife on thought and principle. It doesn’t mean we are exactly the same person.
Now moving onto Muhammad and Islam. You have to understand something about that time and place. Muhammad didn’t come to a group of people like Christ did. He came to a group of people who were nomadic and barbaric. The pagan tribes at that time would bury their daughters in the ground for example.
The whole area was ravaged by war and conflict. There was no jury or judicial court ruling system at that time (unless you lived in Mecca or Medina), what were you to do if an aggressive tribe came to your area and pillaged and raped your whole family? Just stand there and watch? No you would defend. This is one of the concepts of Jihad. To defend yourself.
Christ on the other hand came to a civilised people who lived in settlements and believed in the one God. There were courts and prisons. So to conclude each time was totally different from each other. Apples and Oranges.
Let me leave you with this. Baha’u’llah the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith says that religion is eternal in the past and eternal in the future. That God will send another Messenger. Like Christ, like the Buddha, Like Moses, Like Abraham Like Muhammad when we are in the most need of Them.
The Contradictive thing is, as Christians you believe Christ is coming back.
“I have many things to tell you but you cannot bare them now, how be it when HE the son of truth comes He will guide you until all truths, for He will take of mine and showeth unto you” John 16.
Progressive revelation is the key to religion. Exclusivity and finality has caused the most wars, bloodshed and death in history. Baha’u’llah the founder of the Bahá’í Faith says this.
“The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the disease, and prescribeth, in His unerring wisdom, the remedy. Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. The remedy the world needeth in its present-day afflictions can never be the same as that which a subsequent age may require. Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and center your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements”

"...Come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord..." I take this small portion from the greater text of
2Cor. 6:14-18. James is guilty of violating scripture with his interfaith dialogue and support of Islam. "Muslim by Choice" takes James White's videos and uses them to propagate their false doctrines of Islam. James is leading his followers into an ecumenical movement, yet he claims to be a defender of the faith. How can a minister of the gospel allow a wolf to come into his house, knowing that the wolf wants to eat his sheep? As a pastor for over 26 years, I have learned the meaning of caring for those that God has entrusted to my care. I would never allow a Muslim or any other to come in to God's house and deceive the flock of God. Paul was passionate about warning the church where false teachers are concerned (Acts 20:28-31). He constantly warned the church of "grievous wolves" coming in to deceive the flock. James White is fast becoming this grievous wolf. Beware of the ecumenical movement, for it is the foundation of the one world order and one world church. It will be governed by either Islam or Catholicism, but it is on the way, and James is fanning the flames.

Pastor Brett James White used to criticize Islam and to expose it. However he obviously spent too much time with Muslim scholars that brainwashed him. It's crazy that is more busy to defend Islam than to explain Christianity . We can't exclude that James White secretly converted to Islam and only pretends to be a Christian.

I'm not completely sure which debate it was, but Dr White had mentioned a Q&A cross examination in which a Muslim had asked for a single verse which definitively established the doctrine of the Trinity, he responded there wasn't a single verse. However, it is quite literally stated in 1 John 5:7, but only in the KJV. I checked six other translations, and they all said other things.
In addition, 1 Timothy 3:16 states that God was manifest in the flesh, but again only in the KJV. I pray these might assist you in future debates.

I wouldn’t use that verse or consider it as part of the original, inspired text. I’d think if it as a commentary.

So the main problem between Christians and Muslims is that muslims are still holding a grudge against the ONE and only TRUE God. Why ? Because God blessed Isaac with the birthright instead of Ishmael.
This is how the teaching of calvinism is so wrong and dangerous.
So since James White your a calvinist. God desided not to bless Ishmael with the promise aka the birthright.
God choose that from Isaac's Heritage that Jesus Christ would be born from. Why beause Jesus Christ was the elected before the foundation of the world.
Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine ELECT, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my SPIRIT upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
    Isaiah 42:1
1 Peter 1:2-5 ELECT according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the SPIRIT, unto obedience and sprinkling of the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant MERCY hath BEGOTTEN us again unto a lively HOPE by the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, RESERVED in heaven for you,
Who are KEPT by the power of God through FAITH unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
    1 Peter 1:2-5
1 Peter 1:19-23 But with the precious BLOOD of Christ, as of a lamb without BLEMISH and without SPOT:
Who verily was foreordained BEFORE the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Who by him do BELIEVE in God, that raised him up from the dead, and GAVE him glory; that your FAITH and hope might be in God.
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
    1 Peter 1:19-23
As well as that Ishmael and his mother were sent away by Abraham.
    Why?
    Because of their actions.
Genesis 21:8-13 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
I ask you Muslims did God or not make ishmael's descendants a great nation?
Also I asked in the Muslim religion what if a man would have a child with a woman that is not his wife what would happen to that woman and her child?

Those who believe we are saved and by believing in Christ risen and us forgiven, are sealed in the Holy Spirit until the day of our redemption - which comes with our death and departure from this failed earth, and our fleshly, sinful bodies - saved, yet awaiting such with great promise and hopeful expectation, while now, contending that faith (not to prove our faith, but to share it, the good news, Christ is risen from the grave and paid for our sins, and WHOSOEVER believes that shall not perish, for he paid in full our price to the kingdom of God forever, his blood, his death, proving God's great love for us, that his only begotten Son might die for us, that we be SAVED - (Ephesians 1:12-14):
"12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory;"
Dr. White's attemps here (God love him), to explicate why those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, do not, because he is trying to see it from their side (God love him) are honorable; yet, they hate, persecute, and despise others who do not believe as they do, which is entirely contradictory to what Jesus commands we do with our enemies (Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute us and depitefully use us." - WHY? Because they do not have the peace of Christ in them, that their lives are secure with the payment he made full on the cross, which Muslims deny happened and we hope and pray they do.
    I hope and pray his intention is such that he believes he can be instrumental in as many as can, come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, and this is a noble cause; yet, I hope he is not so blinded that he might believe otherwise - which, only God knows his heart (God love him);
for, what is written in Revelation 19:19 shall certainly come to pass, as all the prophecies in the Bible have come, and the Word cannot lie against itself, and the Word came in to this world, and became flesh, alive in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, and came so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life, and not suffer Hell forevermore, not the fate of those in the coming, final battle:
"19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army."
Put your trust in Jesus Christ, who explicity said: ""Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword," - which is the Word of God, by which all, when hearing, either accept as true or do not.
It is not complicated - be prepared for the terrible day of the Lord Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and turn your life over to him. He has already forgiven you of all your sins - past, present and future ones. So be glad of that, persevere in that faith - the Christian faith, and nothing shall separate you from the love of God, as Paul so well stated in Romans 8:38-39:
"38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Context. The verse itself explains it and does not need any guessing. After all, the quran claims to be clear......

God is only one God" In the context of the verse, Allah thought the Christians were saying three gods and tries to refute something that is not claimed/believed. I advice anyone who wants to investigate, for example, take the last hadith of the person who does all his life good and enters hellfire. The meaning is completely different from what James says. For example, If a person does good his entire life but at the end he/she rejects God and starts worshiping a stone (for example) all of his good deeds will be deleted and he enters hell. Similarly, if a person does bad deeds all his/her life but before he/she dies repents and seeks forgiveness he should know that God is the most merciful. There is nothing arbitrary as James claims.

Not sure about God shrinking the world part but rest of what he said is true. However he greatly misunderstands the meaning due to his Christian world view. There's a fundamental misunderstanding in that we are a creation and God is a creator, we are at his mercy and heaven and hell are waiting and God is patient. The power dynamic is that we are here to obey and worship, to pray to someone else is to invite shirk. Apart from the lord everything else In the universe use his creation and not worthy of worship. Hope that makes sense.

7:21 there's nothing that logically necessitates that prophets can not come after Jesus from Hebrews 1:1-2. All it claims is 1) God spoke by prophets in the past, and 2) God spoke in the then-current era by Jesus.
Both of those statements are true, yet there's nothing there that implies that God will or did not continue to speak by prophets after Jesus. Consider the difference between the following statements:
    1) No one has ever been to Mars
    2) No one will ever go to Mars
See how they are saying different things? Hebrews says God spoke through Jesus. And that's true, just like it's true that no one has been to Mars. Yet that doesn't mean that no one will ever go to Mars (in fact, NASA has a goal for a manned mission to Mars by 2030). A statement about what has transpired is not a statement about what will transpire in the future. You'll note that the scripture in Hebrews doesn't say anything about how God *will* speak in the future.
In fact, James White's position is somewhat absurd. Is not scripture itself the words of God speaking to us through apostles rather than Jesus? Did not Paul himself only begin his ministry wherein he spoke authoritatively for God only after Christ had come and gone?
And this is why you need to be very careful about who you trust to teach you scripture. James White has demonstrably drawn invalid conclusions from Hebrews 1, which means that his doctrine on the subject is invalid as well.

As it stands, and has always stood, Islam rejects Jesus' idea fo Him being the Son of God. Allah is a Father to no one. There is no "the Father" which Jesus almost exclusively referred to God as. There is no "THE Son".

The reason we think the real Quran is only in Arabic simply because God revealed it in Arabic... translation can make a mistake since a word can has many different meanings so a translator might not translate the way God has meant it. But the Arabic ones will always have the original message of God the way He wants it. Also you can not get the same feel of linguistic beauty of the Quran by reading translation...I'm talking about rhymes, word precision etc. Muslim believe the very precise words that used in Quran is in itself proof of its truthfulness...

I think there are a much simpler explanation..if Muslims and others alike clearly understood the Quran we will see that it is obviously a fraud. So to make it more difficult to access for the common people they force them to read it in a very hard to understand language, so relatively a small group can read and interpret the texts for the masses.

James White you debate muslism yet they believe as John Calvin did.
[“No, he has foreordained everything ‘after the counsel of his will’: the moving of a finger, the beating of a heart, the laughter of agirl, the mistake of a typist - even sin.” Calvinist Edwin Palmer, The Five Points of Calvinist]
    Muslim creedal statements:
    • God Most High is the Creator of all actions of His creatures whether of unbelief or belief, of obedience or of rebellion: all of them are by the Will of God and His sentence and His conclusion and His decreeing. Cragg, The Call of the Minaret 60-61
    • God’s one possible quality is His power to create good or evil at any time He wishes, i.e. His decree… Both good things and evil things are the results of God’s decree. It is the duty of every Muslim to believe this… It is he who causes harm and good. Rather the good works ofsome and the evil of others are signs that God wishes to punish some and to reward others… if God wishes to draw someone close to Himself, then He will give him the grace which will make that person do good works. If He wishes to reject someone and put that person to shame then He will create sin in him. God creates all things, good and evil. God creates people as well as their actions: He created you as well as what you do. (Qur’an 37:94)
A few quotes from the Qur’an that could have very well come from Reformed Theology:
Qur’an 3:145 No person can ever die except by the permission of Allah, the term being fixed as by writing.
Qur’an 48:14 To Allah belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth: He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes
    whom He pleases.
Qur’an 64:11 No calamity occurs, no affliction comes, except by the decision and preordainment of Allah.
Surah 16:53 And whatever favor is (bestowed) on you it is from Allah; then when evil afflicts you, to Him do you cry for aid.
Surah 57:22-23 No evil befalls on the earth nor in your own souls, but it is in a book before We bring it into existence; surely that is easy to Allah: So that you may not grieve for what has escaped you, nor be exultant at what He has given you; and Allah does not love any arrogant boaster

The understanding of Quran being eternal is similar to the understanding of the wisdom of God being eternal along with his foreknowledge. It is not a separate unit that needed to be identify as another divine unit coequal with God.
There is a misunderstanding that the emphasis on law or sharia when Muslims grew in numbers was for the pursuit of Islamic political domination.
It is hard to understand the motive for James mentioning this other than to challenge the incoherence of the overall message of the Quran or the intention of the Prophet of Islam.
The introduction of Quranic jurisprudence served as a legal framework for the new community that were establishing themselves away from the tribal and violent culture surrounding them.
In America, our early founders chartered the constitution as a necessity to bring stability and justice for the people of the country.
He mentioned that Islam came to the west and brought its cultural trappings. This is a deliberate error by ignoring the fact that people of different cultures brought their own cultural trappings wherever there migrate and not necessarily a culture that are espoused by the religion per se. Arabic culture has been around longer than the religion of Islam.
Although James White has come a long way distancing himself from far right wing self-declared Islamic expert such as David Wood, he still has a lot of misconceptions about Islam that he used to his advantage in promoting Christianity.

On the other hand, if a parent beats the child, drinks and teaches the child that stealing and taking and beating and abusing others is ok then yes, you can blame the parent. Jesus himself taught love, pure morals, and he was God and taught things very different than the people that did things in the midieval times and other periods that were horrific in the name of christianity. However, Mohammed himself was a man of violence and bad morals and taught that it was ok to take and kill when it served a purpose. secondly how do you know it wasn't forged . the Bible has a history of forged versus such as 1st John 5:7 and others just listen to biblical scholars you can't be using it as if it is a fact if it is probable that it is a forgery or not Historically correct.
Thirdly the angel visited Mary alone to tell her about Jesus and boom a religion was born so if your going to judge Islam by that logic implement it on Christianity aswell

    Dear James White,
There is no authority above and beyond the God. God have the power everything and God have authority to forgives whom HE wants, because forgiving HIS nature, however should God demanded killing Jesus for mercy and salvation of humanity which then it violates God's own nature, as God has to honor evil killing Jesus, God has to endorse the evil killing Jesus, God has to frame the evil killing Jesus, God has to participate in the evil killing Jesus and God has to accept the evil killing Jesus who is a blameless prophet of the God. This seem to be me, God is shooting HIM self in the foot by violating HIS nature when God can forgives those who deserve the to be forgiven without violating HIS nature. Therefore Islam makes far more sense those who are logical.

The quran gets the trinity wrong because Mohd did not understand the Trinity. You mistake unitarianism for monotheism, a categorical error. Christians are monotheists (one God), God has revealed himself in three persons (Trinity). One what, three who; different categories.
Any analogy to try to explain the Trinity is going to fall short. You cannot explain something with an analogy when that something is completely "other", completely unique, and outside our comprehension. The only way we can have a bit of understanding is if God himself reveals those things to us, which He has in the Holy Bible. Not in the quran.

    • @cpnhowdy
      @cpnhowdy Před 7 lety +1

No, Christians do not assume the quran gets the Trinity wrong because of the way Christians interpret their doctrine.
Christians know the quran gets the Trinity wrong by the way the quran itself tries to explain the Trinity. It is completely wrong.
The Trinity is just a few of the things the quran gets wrong. The quran could be described as a mashup book itself. Mohd did not understand what Christians believed and he got many of the Biblical stories and accounts wrong. If the quran was from God then why so many mistakes?
You do not understand the difference between monotheism and unitarianism. They are different categories. You are confusing the two. Muslims assume unitarian without being able to prove it. The Bible is the authoritative Word of God and God has revealed Himself (monothiesism) in Three Persons (Trinity).
