- This is a fanvid of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The Book Thief was magically brought to life by 20th century Fox. I do not own any of the movie clips, all rights go to Fox and Markus Zusak.
Music to the video is "Skinny love" by Birdy.
After everyone else that she had ever loved or trusted left her in some capacity (her brother, her real mother, Papa, Mama, Frau Hermann, Rudy) I don't think Liesel would be able to love or trust anyone again. Max was the only one who really came back to her. This aside, when you look at it from a moral standpoint, taking age into account, the age gap is only 7-10 years. By the end of the book/movie, Liesel is about 16 or 17. At the time, a relationship between the two would most likely be socially acceptable, especially considering their history. I've re-read the book and re-watched the movie a few times each, and as far as I know, the endings of both are quite amibguous in this respect. Therefore, I choose to believe that they _do_ end up together in the end.
Abigail Cote I always wanted them to end up together! They just clicked and they deserve each other
Hi, yes this is actually called pedophilia
And in her final list of people that merged with her life there's no Max, and max is the most important one that should be included. So Max is definitely her husband in my opinion
I totally agree with You🖤
In the book the author leaves the ending very open to interpretation. It says she married and had three children and before she dies she remembers the lives of those she met along the road such as Dad, Mom, Rudy. And then it says " and then there is Max" and it proceeds to explain how after the war Max came back and found Liesel and they hugged and cried. But id doesn't say what happens later. Personally i choose to believe that they eventually fell in love romantically. Plus once she got older the age gap was perfectly acceptable. My grandparents for example married in the 50s with 12 years age gap and it wasn't a big deal. In the book even when she was younger i felt that she already loved him deeply but not romantically. And there is a part in the book where she sees him walking to Dachau with other Jews and she takes recites the story he wrote for her in such a romantic way, then takes his hand and touches his cheek.
I get why people ship these two, but for me, its just pure friendship. Its made to last, Max filled the hole her brother left in Liesel, and Liesel filled the hole his family left for Max. I like how there was no definitive ending in the book because it leaves the readers to figure out something on their own and interpret decisions themselves.
This was a friendship that totally turned into something more as they got older. Call me perverted, but I think it is beautiful
In the book it says she got married and had three kids so maybe 🙂
Linn Baardsen nah it’s not perverted. It’s different. Phedophilia is sexual harassment or so. But they genuinely had feelings for each other. And their age gap is like 7 years.
The relationship between Liesel and Max is so tender and sweet. ❤️❤️💜💖

This is absolutely beautiful! I'm watching this tonight. And I think their friendship is one of true value because in the end, they had each other and that's all that matters. 😭😭😭💓
Loved this movie so much after watching it for a school assignment and I ship these two SO AHRD it hurts... glad to see how their story ends :)
aww I ship them so much. I wish we could see a future with them
Gross age gap
They found a magical kinship amid a havoc
I ship her just with Rudy! Nur mit ihm tolles süßes Paar. 💕
This is so emotional for me because I watched this film some years ago when I was like what 12? 13? And they were one of the first two people whose story really touched me. They where one of the first two people who I "shipped" as we say it today, then I didn’t even know what does that mean, I didn’t even spoke english, I watched the whole thing with subtitles. After I watched the film, I read the book. And after I read it it never came up again. And now that Im 15 this video just came across my mind. It’s really crazy how much emotions I got from this film/book. I will read it again. It’s on my bookshelf waiting for me :)
I don't think they should be together romantically. Not because of the age gap, although i find that a little weird, but because they are family. They are like brother and sister. They are the only surviving family left for each other. They don't need each other to love them romantically, they need to be there for each other after all the stuff that happened.
Yes
He is her soulmate and nobody else would be able to fill his shoes for her. A husband and wife are also family and the best and lasting marriage is when two people are also best friends
@@BytomGirl Exactly. Reading this back in school, I felt the same way.
This made me cry
Nice video :) I really like this ship!
+Nathalie Bisono Thank you! I love this ship too. They are so cute and perfect.
I know things, Remember? I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE, AND THIS ISN'T EVEN BAND RELATED 😂
love it!!!!♡♡♡
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I love this!
Thank you!
Who else cried at this movie so many times!?!??
All of my family: *CriES*
Still , i thought she would ended up with blondy , but sadly he died
it's beautiful and it touched me, for real but I don't like the fact that sometimes they make their relationship look a bit romantic. She's too young and he's too old . But who can't love them together anyways. he was her father and brother and best friend
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. It is such a touching story and their relationship is so beautiful.
BEEBO

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I don't have a lot of time to post things, but I do have quite a few videos that I've edited and put together that I need to put up sometime.
They are family.. don't ruin it OMG
You literally ship a little girl and a grown man to be together
Dasha Ramirez it's not in the romantic way, the best friend and sibling like way ❤
