"Dartmouth's In Town Again" has been in use since sometime in the 1920s, whereas Rutgers' song, "The Bells Must Ring" was written in 1931. The melodies are nothing alike, and there really isn't much to suggest that Rutgers' song borrows anything from Dartmouth's.
And the price of tea in China is $3.59/lb. Neither of which has anything to do with who came up with this fight song first in, what, the 1910s or 1920s maybe? Many universities borrowed songs from each other -- Okla uses a combo of songs from Yale and UNC in their fight song -- I was just curious as to which band came up with this song first.
