    There's not a lot of difference between Chattanooga and Knoxville. Knoxville has the state's flagship university and is close to the Smokey Mountains. Chattanooga also has a lot of outdoor activities, as well. However, the biggest thing Chattanooga has going for it, is location. It's an hour and a half from Atlanta and Knoxville. It's two hours from Nashville, and about, 2 and a half hours from Birmingham.

      I would rather be in Chattanooga than Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, or Knoxville. The best thing about Chattanooga is that I can literally drive 10 minutes and hike a strenuous trail, mountain bike at any level, rock climb, or paddleboard. Another 15 minutes and I can be standing under a waterfall. I don't know of anywhere else where you can do all that within such a close proximity and still make a living.

    So we live towards northern Idaho…we love our gorgeous clear pristine lakes and are always at the lake and summer camping! Don’t care for winters here! Hows summer for camping? Worried about the bugs as we don’t deal with bugs at all! And the lakes? Are they clear? Worried about water moccasins and mosquitos! Thanx! Great great content!

    • @livingintennesseeteam
      @livingintennesseeteam  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi! Winters here are definitly more mild. Camping in the summer is great. Beautiful lakes. Beautiful mountains. You will want to use insect repellent during the summer. Some of the lakes are clear, some are not as clear. Water moccasins are typically only found in West Tennessee, which is a 4+ hour drive from Chattanooga. Mosquitos are common but insect repellent will keep them away. Hope that's helpful!

    Up here in Michigan, Chattanoogas 50 degree average high for January would be Springtime in April, not Winter lol. Chattanooga has so much to see and do. 90 minutes to Atlanta, 90 minutes to Nashville.

    I have lived here in the Chattanooga area most of my life. The traffic is terrible and it’s because there is no way to put a bypass around Chattanooga. The river the mountains and no access to available land, this blocks the way to build a bypass. The river and mountains are beautiful, but this is a fact. Super overpopulated for the infrastructure with no foreseeable infrastructure being upgraded.🤷🏻‍♂️

    Overcrowding presents major challenges, and the 'stack and pack' models that primarily profit the greedy are likely to become increasingly unattractive as the weeks go by. Having lived here for nearly 50 years, I've witnessed the area lose its casual charm. The skyline view has become marred, and once-peaceful places are now noisy. Even a stroll along the river walk offers no respite from the incessant traffic and pervasive sewer odor. Most newcomers are from states with considerably higher living costs, typically liberal, yet they are capitalizing on conservative regions, driving prices beyond the reach of local buyers. Additionally, it is important to note that Chattanooga is a WEF 'pilot city' for a utopian mega-city concept. On the other hand, if you're progressive, the issues mentioned earlier may seem like a silver lining. The fact remains that progressive cities generate high cash flow, but poor management is a pressing concern. The area's population is growing rapidly under questionable oversight, in my opinion. However, this is for you to determine based on your own experiences, which may vary."

    I grew up in Chattanooga. Still live here today. Chattanooga was great. Now it is a crime ridden drug town that is overwhelmed by illegal migrants. It is a shame what has happened to our town. Don't believe me? Look up Chris Wright. Can't wait to move out into the country.

    I love that people love chattanooga. Please stop moving here. It's getting impossible to get anywhere because of traffic. They keep building stacked condos and town houses and knocking down all out historic building's to build them. I love my city but it's getting ridiculous how expensive it is becoming.
