I read three books on catching giant bass. All three authors had the same take on mental shift. I've been following their advice for several years and man does it work. Also, these guys only used a handful of lures and techniques.
I custom paint baits and my best work is probably spinnerbaits. I use premium components when I can, but when I look at cost per unit material the cost to make one is like $5 each. I don't want to charge more than $8 but that'd be what I should charge to turn a profit. Any thoughts? Also, as a fan, I'd like to send you a sampling of my work for free. Just be cool to say Randy Blakaut has fished my baits. If you're open to getting some great lures let me know.
this is why I love fishing big swim baits and guide baits ... nobody around here is willing to commit to fishing them so nobody does which means the bass never see them.
Randy, you go on and on about Bass fishing turning into an elitest sport but, then you mention your buddy Oliver Ny winning the Big Bass Bash at Lake of the Ozarks with a $230.00 Glide Bait. Oliver should have never been allowed to enter that tournament because it's supposed to be for amateurs only. Not for guys like Oliver who make their living through the fishing industry.
