Yeah, it still has lifter failures, but usually within warranty period. Also doesn't eat up cam like previous gen. So repairs aren't as bad. They replace lifters on whole side of failure
Is all the features shown in the video the generic default options that come on most 6.2L equipped trail bosses? When I went onto the chevy site to build my own I noticed when you pick the 6.2 you have to also pick a lot more options too that I’ve been seeing in these videos.

That may be the most fuel ever in a new car for sale on the lot! Must be an omission by the factory. As far as the interior, I agree that the layout/desing is really undervalued at this time. If someone only watches review videos or reads articles without actually driving one, they can be forgiven for coming away critical of the design and execution. But if one were to drive them, the interior is surprisingly comfortable and daily usable with a layout and design that becomes familiar quickly and then the driver begins to understand the language of the GM engineers/designers. As a suggestion, perhaps using more technical terms, such as the part code, or option package numbers would be appealing. Although I am aware most customers are not terribly interested. Great video.

hope to find one in my stocking next xmas 😳🤣✌
I’m not to big of a fan of the Silverado’s new headlights but if I was to get a Silverado it would be this
Headlights I love
Are the seats still hard as a rock? That and the terrible cloth material (not opposed to cloth it's just very poor quality compared to previous generations) are my only issues with my 15.
Sucks you can't get the cooled seats on the LT Trail Boss.
General Motors - both Chevrolet and GMC.....this is the norm...lots of road blocks with the list of options. If a customer wants certain option.....all too often...select a certain option and cannot get other options. It is completely ridiculous. Ford has very few road blocks in the choice of options. With few exceptions...select a certain option...able to get any other desired options.
I get a Ford ad watching this... love to see it lmao
nothing at all wrong with the G80 locker ....you just have to know how it works, and learn how it performs.
the interior is less than the 2018 z71 .... mine has carbon fiber guages
Just put Falken Wildpeak AT3 on them with the winter rating. Best tires I have ever had.
Falkens are way too heavy and hard. Try nittos.
i really want one but i don't want to get hit with the depreciation
No front or rear lockers. But all the electronic nannies like better lights airbags. lane keep. cylinder deactivation. And more crap to mention. I would pay my hard earned money
For $60,000 I’ll take a 2021 lariat!
For the price I feel like it’s missing a lot of new features that other trucks have (Ram and Ford)
What features ?
For the price I like the 3/4 ton diesel for about the amount 🤷🏻♂️
6.2
If you had no idea he really likes that the truck is blacked out.
Ben is the passenger seat electric on the 2021 Trail Boss that's the only thing I don't like about the chevy trucks. Especially at a $60,000 price tag one thing they skip out on.👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 thanks for the video
Great review. The wheels look like 20 inch not 18. I’d prefer 18 but they look good.
Interiors in GM trucks are terribly outdated. No chance I’d pay equal price for this over a Rebel. $5-10k lower price, then sure. It’s a nice truck, but they need to compete with Ford, Ram, and even Nissan with interior design. I love the exterior though.
Edit: I lied. I’d pay for the 6.2L 😊
I like the Chevy black out it just looks so good I have one of 2023 model
??
How did you get a 23 when the 22 isn’t even out. I have a black 2020 RST Black Midnight (Blackout) Edition. Looks amazing.
Great review!!!
I buy last week sabe truck i very happy
Would definitely take the trail boss in the double cab and 6.2 configuration. Great video and review. Nice glasses Ben.
My local dealership here in Southern Arizona has them for $52,000.
Hey, what do you know about lifter failure? Is this happining alot still in this motor?
Yeah, it still has lifter failures, but usually within warranty period. Also doesn't eat up cam like previous gen. So repairs aren't as bad. They replace lifters on whole side of failure
What type of gas is recommended as far as octane
Is leather an option on the trail boss? Building one out but don’t see it..
Trail boss for the win
Is all the features shown in the video the generic default options that come on most 6.2L equipped trail bosses? When I went onto the chevy site to build my own I noticed when you pick the 6.2 you have to also pick a lot more options too that I’ve been seeing in these videos.
General Motors - both Chevrolet and GMC.....they paint customers into a corner with choice of options...lots of road blocks with the list of options. If a customer wants certain option.....all too often...select a certain option and cannot get other options. Customers cannot build a truck they way they want it.........they have to build the Chevrolet or GMC the way the company way. It is completely and totally ridiculous. Ford has very few road blocks in the choice of options. With few exceptions...select a certain option...able to get any other desired options.
GM 2006 and previous i would buy, I would not buy any of these new trucks I work at GM and have a 21 Laramie in the driveway. I had a 16 GMC installed new $5,000 trans and less than 100,000 miles on it, my buddy’s lifters went at 83,000 miles same year truck but a Silverado I see a ton of these trucks with problems and GM knows about them...... no thanks I will lease the Ram and also in 2 years GM’s electronics are out of date my Ram feels like it will still be top of the line in 3 years when my lease is up....
Getting F150.
It’s still in third or fourth place...
I have too agree. I have a 2020 trail boss and you may think I'm odd but the interior really is super functional. I think the quality is great too!
@@bryondrill9239 The interiors are very under rated. Especially at night, very easy and legible controls.
Best truck ever made can’t wait to order mine
AMAZING !!!!!!
I go with American over Italian any day
Good thing Chevy came out swinging! My Ram needs SOME competition lol
Not getting much competition from Chevy or Ford or anyone else sorry....
@@leedanielson7452 hence the "some" in my statement.
@@soldier09r Yeah some
Considering the sierra/silverado as a tandem(same truck essentially, same company) outsell the ram by a large margin, GM is not too worried.
@@steve8803 Not the same truck dog! Sorrrrrrrrrrry....🙄
Will this give me 100k mikes no problem ? Or will I be heading the to shop a lot with this purchase ?
Did it have the upgrade exhaust for 2.5k?
Does this 6.2 use regular unleaded gas?
Will take a better power train over flashy interior any day. Besides a bigger radio displays, what does the rebel have interior wise that the trail boss doesn’t?
Is the steering column straight now? 2017 is terrible. Some drunk Mexicans made them wrong
Ben,
You mentioned lowering tire pressure to increase thread wear rate.
How many pounds you suggest?
I’d have to see what 33s run at, but my raptor has 35s and I’m running them at 33 psi right now
@@BenHardyCars Yes check on 33's.
Will keep this in mind.
Off road with your raptor have you aired down?
@@pjasyl always air down for that
@@BenHardyCars Totally agree!
Especially on rough rocky ground !
Why can’t GM put a nice interior in their trucks? They still look 1990....
Getting one soon 😏
Love the exterior of the Chevy but jumped inside and honestly got right out. Ha I don’t hate any truck right now. Really think all brands have something I’d drive. Need the Chevy with that 10spd if you do get one. I did not really like the other option. Felt strange to me. Rebel is first to me and easier to get a deal with. Love the 3.92 rear end. Blacked out but the chevy’s head liner is not! What the heck! Ha
I want a 1500 LT Trail Boss soo bad!
Did chevy every fix the lifter knock all these seem to get? or just rolling with the same knock and still ignoring it?
No fiat for me
Why’s the Silverado look like a 2021 from the outside but a 2010 from the inside
That interior is just too boring for me. I’d rather lease a black edition limited Ram. 🤷♂️. And if it’s really unreliable I won’t lose out on much and I’ll come get this.
I’ve had three Rams since 2009. Never any issues, except a wheel bearing at 120,000 from road salt. Current is a limited night edition.
@@quadcityracing Fr? How much did you pay? Those night edition limited trucks are awesome
will the centerconsole tray pop out? so i can store a gun in there?
It does
The 6.2 is begging for a supercharger....come on GM, grow a pair. Back in the 60's and 70's GM was all about horsepower and being competitive. Nowadays seems they just want to play it safe and boring. Not trying to knock GM, I own this truck. Just saying...
420 hp and 460 ft lb is boring to you? Minus 70-72, the 70s were not about horsepower, not from the factory anyway. Its funny how people like you pull things out of their ass to complain about.
What’s your big hurry.
Neither one both are over priced and so far from what a truck should be.
