I have this exact truck and it’s a beast! I had a 2019 Ram with a 5.7 and it is heavy and slow in comparison. I’ve driven the Rebel and Raptor and still prefer the Trail Boss. Anyone complaining about the shifter location, misc. knobs or screen size clearly doesn’t understand why men buy trucks. Most real men or women buy trucks for work, off-roading, driving in snow, hauling, towing etc. If you want comfort or luxury, get a crossover, if want a kick ass truck, get the Trial Boss.

I'll never get all the crying about the GM interior. They are comfortable, well thought out and super user friendly. I don't need a 52 inch screen and a hide away shifter. Really? And the new Trail Boss looks badass. Best of all, it's bulletproof, and has great resale value.

In 19, when I purchased my Ford, the only reason that made me look elsewhere (as previous six trucks were GM), the custom trail boss was not offered with the 6.2/10 speed, it wasn’t a deal breaker, although that’s what I wanted. The literal deal breaker was the fact that the center console did not have storage, and the seatbelt was very weird, the gauge cluster was the same as my 16. I drove the Ford, felt the power, liked the interior, and was sold. In 2020, for the 2021 models, PowerBoost would be first choice, TrailBoss 6.2 would be second, Tundra would be third. MHO.

When I pulling out onto a wet road and traffic is coming, the very last thing I want to worry about is having to push a button to give me posi-traction.

The G80 is better than an open differential. HOWEVER.....the Detroit TrueTrac with helical gears is a superior unit. Depending on use and terrain.......the Eaton e-Locker is an excellent choice. Depending upon individual needs and use.....those are the two best options in the market.

I agree......the GM 6.2L is a great engine. HOWEVER...It is a shame GM engineers are clueless on how to build a great 4WD truck. A 2 inch lift? Really? Can't tell the difference between the Trail Boss and a standard 1500. Very Poor approach and departure angles...pathetic.....IFS axle.....offers poor articulation on uneven terrain off-road...pathetic.....little itty bitty tires...275 / 65R - 18...only 32 inches tall...pathetic.........should be 285 / 75R -18.....35 inches tall......last but not least...low hanging frame rails.....inherent in the engineers bad overall design as it results in Very Poor breakover angle...this truck will end up as a teeter totter off-road in the Rocky Mountain states. I was waiting for the TRX, but every dealership wanted a 20-40k markup over sticker in CA, and im not going to allow myself to ripped off like that. Got tired of waiting, so I went shopping between these 2 trucks, blacked out versions of both. Chevy has always made my favorite trucks, but I ended up buying the Ram this time. Since a stock rebel wasn't really doing it for me, took the thing straight from the dealer to the shop and dropped 15 grand in parts. Looks badass, but now I'm already getting close to a TRX price tag and I have 300 less hp. The truck looks sick, but a TRX i would have been happy leaving stock. I wouldn't want to screw the engineering. Really irritating they wouldn't just sell me one for sticker price, they wanted like 120k. I've never been the type of guy to need to own the first one, but I had been putting off buying for months. Couldn't keep waiting. General Motors - both Chevrolet and GMC.....this is the norm...lots of road blocks with the list of options. If a customer wants certain option.....all too often...select a certain option and cannot get other options. It is completely ridiculous. Ford has very few road blocks in the choice of options. With few exceptions...select a certain option...able to get any other desired options.

Interiors in GM trucks are terribly outdated. No chance I’d pay equal price for this over a Rebel. $5-10k lower price, then sure. It’s a nice truck, but they need to compete with Ford, Ram, and even Nissan with interior design. I love the exterior though.
    Edit: I lied. I’d pay for the 6.2L 😊

That may be the most fuel ever in a new car for sale on the lot! Must be an omission by the factory. As far as the interior, I agree that the layout/desing is really undervalued at this time. If someone only watches review videos or reads articles without actually driving one, they can be forgiven for coming away critical of the design and execution. But if one were to drive them, the interior is surprisingly comfortable and daily usable with a layout and design that becomes familiar quickly and then the driver begins to understand the language of the GM engineers/designers. As a suggestion, perhaps using more technical terms, such as the part code, or option package numbers would be appealing. Although I am aware most customers are not terribly interested. Great video.
