- This is basic information on the sex-linked genes of canaries and how to identify them. It is a simple "what they are" and "what they do" video, with focus on the brown "cinnamon" mutation. You will learn how to predict what X-factor traits certain pairs of canaries would pass on to their offspring.
You can also visit my website for information on canaries, in particular, the American Singer breed. You'll find it at www.ariafromabircage.com
This has been the best explanation of genotype and phenotype in canaries. Been trying to understand my bronze male. Closest I've found to understanding the melanin genes
Very helpful
And YES, I'd like to learn more! You made it seem so simple. I think almost any subject you cared about would be helpful.
thank you so much Brenda for nice and help full explanation of sex link canaries
I totally enjoyed this explanation of sex link canaries.
I had a pair. Cinnamon mother, yellow father.
Had a cinnamon male, and 2 ivory females. Per your explanation.
So, now you know that your yellow father must be a cinnamon carrier to have produced, with his cinnamon hen, a cinnamon male chick. Nice!
I have male blue gloser 100% melanin x female green gloser 100% melanin they give me : cinnamon female, agate female, blue male ???
