    Gardening requires a lot of water. Most in the form of perspiration. Great video. Girls night out on the Farm sounds amazing. Everything is looking great.

    I too dislike Malabar alone, but cooked with meat is great! I use brick lining, yard waste compost filler/topper, and low grass for walking path. Weeds only 5% as bad. Worms do the tilling. Grass doesn’t need cutting, compost chokes out most in bed weeds. Not sure if it would work for y’all but happy to share details/pics if helpful.

  • @takeitslowhomestead5218

    Thanks for a lovely garden tour. My favorite tool is the stirrup “hand”tool; I feel like it gives me more control than the long-handled one. I just weeded my potato patch with it this evening. (My favorite tool for bigger weeds is my dandelion digger.) When I have those two tools in my hands, no weed can escape meI Haha! I hope you have a fun night class coming up.

    I love the stirrup hoe but my #1 is the single tine cultivator. It’s my go to to get tight into lettuce and carrots

  • @ElderandOakFarm
    @ElderandOakFarm Před 2 lety

    Love love love that tool! Although I have to press much harder lol. I got mine last year & I was using it yesterday, & Iit gave me a video ideas & I JUST added a note in my content planner to do a video on my "Top 3 Farm/Garden Tools" & this tool was going to be one of the 3 tools! It like to hand weed so I get them from the root, but I have areas that are extremely weedy, & this tool helps to knock the growth back, & prevekt them from going to seed & making more weeds when I dont have time to pull several hundred weeds!

    I did want to ask you if you could put a link to Amazon with some of the things that you would like to have for your garden and also maybe to Hoss tools for seeds and garden equipment that you might like to have that would help you with your gardening. Most people on CZcams have those links you might want to check with Jill I know this she has many things that she wants on all of her list that she asked for some sure that she could help you up and help you. Please do this because we would like to help you get things that you would like to have for your garden as well.

    2 questions where did you get your stirrup hoe? And second, the hoops that are currently holding your flower netting, I assume holds your frost cloth in winter... did you make them, or where did you get them?

    • @BerkeleyFarms
      @BerkeleyFarms  Před 2 lety +1

      I got the hoe from our local Ace Hardware store. You can get them from Hoss and Johnnys too. We made the hoops. Here's a link to the video:

    I'm sorry your ranunculus was a bust. If you really like them dont give up! It may take a couple years to hone in on when you need to start them, how moist to have the mix when you oresprout them, etc. I have had night/ day results with them! Last uear mine were absolutely pitiful, & right now I have about 350 doing absolutely fantastic!

      I harvest when the leaves start to turn brown and die. At that point, I'll dig up a few and check to see if they look big enough.
