I was actually thinking about this the other day, like what if there were several twigs left over from exploded original groot that all happened to grow into new offsprings. They wouldn't all have the same consciousness and they would all be different little beings. Well rocket only grabbed one left over twig from groots exploded body parts, there could have actually been several lying on the ground so it would be very farfetched to assume that this tiny little twig is gonna have the same consciousness as original groot. Not to mention baby groot seems a lot meaner and more violent than original groot. I do like baby groot but I liked original groot a lot better.
