Peterbilt 359 Restoration Ep.61 Sleeper Tail Lights

Now that I’ve started, I just can’t stop adding lights to this old Peterbilt. This time I install LED lights inside the stainless-steel air cleaners to give off a blue glow at night. Then I tackle adding more LED taillights to the back of the sleeper using a 4.5” hole saw. Once they are wired it gives a modern yet classy look and add to the safety when bobtailing.
Enjoy watching the "little by little" progress of this Peterbilt 359 project that's nearing completion and the next #ProjectSnowman, a Kenworth W900A tribute truck to the one used in Smokey and the Bandit and the one after that a 1979 Kenworth K100 cabover that I’m planning to build up like the one used in the trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.
I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts

To get the wire through a loom use an box end from a wrench that fits in the loom. Put the wire through the box end then drag the box end through the loom feeding the wire into the loom

Glad your keeping the blue lights on a separate circuit. Cops will give you trouble if they see them on the highway.
I had blue grill and underglo on my old car. A friend cop I knew very well pulled me over and told me what he could do if he saw them on again. He never saw them on the highway again. It was scary

Hey from a guy who has used those hole saws for 30 + years. Start in reverse and score the surface first and then it won't grab and twist your arm off. Nice work !!!

Agreed...wiring is a pain, but a necessary evil. With my junction boxes, I create a small sheet with the contact descriptions, laminate them, and throw them in the truck in a safe place. You can refer to them when you need to work in the JB.

Glad you decided on the 4 sleeper taillights. Always liked the look of 4 in a horizontal row. Looks really clean and symmetrical that way. Air cleaner lights are pretty neat too. Looking good. Now time for Project Snowman!!!!!
Watching you drill those holes in the cab reminded me when I bought my boat and my wife wanted a seat mounted in the front to fish from. I must've measured and remeasured 10 times before taking a 4" hole saw and drilled a hole through the deck in my new boat. Like yours it came out perfect. Thank goodness. Truck's looking purty with all those new lights.

Sittin there looking all lit up and pretty, what isn't to like about that. Nothing more nerve wracking than drilling a big old hole in a truck and 4 inches at that ... that will make the pucker tighten up a tad as your hoping the drill stays on course doesn't jump and doesn't go too far, been there done that... and a jack is well deserved after that, and yeah the individual hole saw bits when you start really going up in sizes, it's like the guy at the till tells you how much it is and your like " no no,....you don't understand... I don't want to buy your company, I just need to buy this hole saw bit"

Such a gorgeous rig old school is always the best way to go when it comes to rolling coal and making it look good while your at it im a big fan of the old school Peterbilt and Kenworth lets not forget the strong reliable Mack dog truck

Looks great Mark. Everything takes twice as long as you think, and that last part is never in stock. But glad you did the temp solution, and ordered the right gaskets. Beautiful.

Just found some red lenses with blue dots for my company Volvo, so I'm as cool as I can get.lol. I think the gaskets for the trim ring is like a two sided tape

You should put another blue light bar above the steps under the cab like you did in the sleeper... my old man did it a while back and it looks really nice..

I'm Amazed by this video. Mostly because I won't work on anything unless it's at least 60 degrees outside!
I know where there is a trailer that is the same kind as the snowman had, and it could be bought reasonable. Its just outside of lake city Arkansas. Its identical and it was a jones truck lines trailer.
