- Welcome to part 2 of our Norwegian fjords cruise series. Part 2 will show you the back end of our cruise to Ålesund, our cancelled port day into Haugesund, which gave us an extra day at sea and we will be showing you what a typical day in the life at sea is like onboard IONA on this Norwegian Fjords Cruise. We will also give you a run down of what we thought of our first ever cruise holiday.

Hey Arnie, thank you sooo much 🍻 💙 we have the Iona Cabin and ship tour next and we’ll have some Singapore and Bali videos as in a few months as we go 6th July and then we’re off to Cape Town 🇿🇦 and doing a safari for my (James) 35th this year in December so got some good content.
Also we may be going on a cruise sooner than we think looking to do Arvia In Feb for Caribbean cruise 🤭 thank you so much for your support it means a lot and we appreciate it 💙

Loved watching these 2 videos, we’re due to go on Iona on this same cruise in July and cannot wait. Thank you for showing us around and taking us with you. I’ve watched lots of these in preparation as it’s going to be our first cruise too and a good tip I picked up regarding waiting for multiple lifts that always seem to be full on disembarkation morning - click the button for a lift going up as they are generally empty because everyone is wanting to go down. Stay in it as it goes up and then it will head down eventually to where you want to be 👍 Thanks again for a couple of great Iona videos.

Aww thank you hopefully you’ll enjoy part 2 😎 we’ve done packing videos before and they’ve done crap so we don’t bother our best advice is pack for all eventualities even in August you might get some cold days or rain so deffo take some jumpers and a jacket with you hopefully you won’t need it, I wish we packed more warmer clothing 🥶.

Great vlog again, I’ve cruised loads and trust me at the end of each cruise I always say ‘next one I’m eating less and healthier’ I get back on board have one good day eating salad then it goes to the wall 😂

Just come across your channel thoroughly your cruise video, we have done a number of cruises, so far not on Iona that’s our next cruise. We show this to the younger members of our family who have never cruised. Just to say Mandy Muden was on America’s Got Talent a very talented magician.

I did this cruise solo two years ago, missed first two ports due to bad weather, also missed the fjords 😢. I liked Iona although a huge ship. I loved Norway best place I have visited, scenery is spectacular and the Norwegians are very friendly I was sad to leave flam as they were flying the flags and cheering as we sailed away 😢
Ahh that’s such a shame your first two ports were missed I’m guessing one of the would have been olden? Yes Iona is massive but such a beautiful ship 🤩

We didn’t get to visit Flam on this cruise but have heard it’s very nice. Olden done the same and played music and waved as we sailed away it was so special 🥹
Don't be afraid to ask for what you want when you order your food because they want to please you it makes them happy too

Thank you :) we are with Halifax which includes cruise cover however it doesn’t cover for missed ports which we didn’t realise until after the cruise :/

If people are afraid to walk up the 418 steps, you can get a trolley bus from outside of the ship to the viewpoint and back again

I agree with siany5760 below .. we (me and my darling wife) stumbled across your video and love how you do it ... i know there are a lot of them about but .. loving your enthusiasm and wonderment. Ourselves being "novice" cruisers we enjoy seeing you do the things you do (without the pescatarianism/vegetarianism bit). We will be taking the same cruise next year at the same time of year as you went so lessons learned about clothing etc. Question though re your video .. what is it that you film with? is it a gopro or something and what's the stick you stick it on ...hahaha sorry for the technical jargon at the end hahaha
Aww thank you that means a lot 🥲. You’ll will love the cruise I hope you have better weather next year then we did. The cruise either side of us had clear blue skies ☀️ and 20°C we got really unlucky with the weather on this cruise.
Ohh so yeah we just use a GoPro with a metal tripod handle brought from Amazon and an Insta 360 x3 to get shots of both of us and it’s awesome for photos so you don’t have to ask others for a photo. Whenever we’ve asked for photos the person taking it has been the worst photographer ever 😂.

Hi I'm on Iona on this cruise with me Grandaughter in August I've got a saver cabin so yet to see where my cabin will be I've got a forward cabin so who knows???!!! I've not booked any excursions as yet but hoping the few I want will be available still in few weeks 🙏 I've limited mobility so can't do much walking ones so I'm looking at the ones with being on a little cruise thing with cake and drinks included with great photo opportunities and the coach ones but I must say that the cinema isn't to me a thing that I would entertain as why would anyone want to be in a cinema on a cruise ?? I love just exploring the whole ship and looking out to sea 🌊 I love the ocean and just watching it to me is magical I love it next year I'm on Arvia with the whole family we are in 2 aft wrap around suites we are going on a 2 week med cruise 🛳 can't wait I love cruise hoildays ❤

To be honest we’d thought we’d go cinema as we love films but we loved walking along promenade and watching the sea go by and that sea air nothing beats it does it 🙂. The only trips that where full was olden the skylit and steryn or something like that 🤷🏼♂️ a few other but a lot had availability so you’ll be fine 🙂. If you can do Briksdal glacier by troll car we’d very highly recommend that 🙂 ohh we’re doing Arvia too but the Carribean Road in February we can’t wait for that booking it tomorrow teehee 🤭. We do have some normal holidays planned for this year but I must admit we’re not looking forward to unpacking and repacking several times because we are doing some multi centre holidays. The beauty of a cruise is you only have to unpack once!
I’ve done cruises Alaska, Asia, Spain/ Portugal/ Madeira , Mexico and Belize, Mediterranean and 4 different short ones from Southampton and we have the Panama Canal one booked for next March .. I’ve cruised on celebrity, virgin and next year princess.. have a look at the virgin cruises the food is amazing I believe they have lots of vegetarian options and they are slightly younger demographic
Ohhhh 😮 you’ve done some good cruises we’ve got a few added to our list already and Virgin is up there along with NCL and MSC and a few others too many to name. 😮 Panama cruise wow! 😯 we want to go too we’ve been Costa Rica and love Central America with the wildlife. Good to know for Virgin with Veggie options too thanks for the recommendation 😎

Nooo 🫨 I thought I (James) had it the Cornish way ohh interesting 🤔. To be honest I’m weird and find spreading cream on jam easy but next time I’ll give it a go the other way 😜

I have read that passengers may submit a claim through their travel insurance for a missed port if they have bought a cruise cover package.
Have you or any of your subscribers tried this?
Yes that’s correct but unfortunately we didn’t have missed port cover on our insurance. We have definitely learnt our lesson and will make sure we have this next time :)
I did read on one of the Facebook groups that someone’s insurance paid out :)
