An unlike some elbows to face fouls we've seen this year there was actual contact. McBreen is cooked .
Atmosphere is pretty insane for derby matches but it isn't as big as it was a decade ago... I think the lack of stars may be a reason but sure am enjoying the hell of it!
I think the referee just had enough with the fouls committed by Sydney. 17 fouls in one match! It was simply a warning to other players that this was it. Just so happened that this one was already on a yellow and therefore - see ya later sunshine. Go and hit the showers.
Expect the Sydney boys to come at us next week though.

Hey mate, we compete with AFL (Aussie Football) and the NRL (Rugby League). Soccer has a good following, but could be better!
Most played sport. A-League used to be bigger, people will still show up for the really big games and national team.
people love football down here. We wake up early or stay up late to watch football overseas. Lot of people play football here. The quality of a our first division isn't the best but its decent. People like to diss buts its probably a league one / championship level quality
The NRL and AFL have hit their ceilings.

Really??? Sydney committed 17 fouls against the Mariners. Give me a break. They could have been so much more dangerous if they just kept their heads and played soccer!
