This journey was also a high speed train, but not as 'high speed' as the one between Beijing and Shanghai. This service had many intermediate stops, so could be described as a slow high-speed train. The scenery around Guilin was superb. The limestone hills with the sun setting behind them is a memory that will last for ever. Truely remarkable. Some of this footage appeared on my daily vlog at the time.

The Maglev train and CRH is amazing. I lived in Guangzhou for 3.6 years, Zhangjiagang 4 years and Wuhan 4 years. The UK has a very long way to go with regards to most things, especially train travel.

Thanks Mary. I injured my arm last year and so anything like lifting a metal detector, pushing down on a shovel or scrambling up and down riverbanks was aggravating the injury, so I've been taking it easy. Rusty nails plans to return soon though!
