Nice job on the cleaning and the video. Your assistant did very well! Another common household cleaner that works very well are denture cleaning tablets. As a retired dentist, I use denture cleaning tablets to clean lots of things. They are designed to break down and remove organic material and stains without damaging metals or plastics. They also do not leave a soapy aftertaste or smell. And 90 tablets of the generic store brands cost $3.99 USD. Cheaper and less caustic than the dishwasher tablets.
Forget baking soda and vinegar and anything else you've heard, this is *amazing* - one hour and my cups are like new, no scrubbing whatsoever. Thank you so, so much for the tip!
There is a whole internet full of people telling us to use baking soda and vinegar....crap doesn't work! Love your method, it actually works!!!!!! Your video itself is excellent; Using scientific methods and documenting them, teaching your own children this way, and sharing with everybody else, You rock!!!
You and your delightful assistant just made my life so much easier! I have a 16 oz Contigo that looks just as stained inside from tea. In the past, baking soda with a bit of water worked very well but it involved a lot of scrubbing, my hand can't reach all the way to the bottom, and I have a skin sensitivity to baking soda. I tried your hack with a more natural brand (called Attitude) and the results were just as amazing! I was worried at first because it didn't have as many bubbles right away but, within minutes, it was foaming up and over the sides. 👍👍
I have tried several "experiments" to clean my stainless coffee carafe with no success. This worked perfectly with almost no effort. Thanks to you and your assistant!
Perfect! This is the absolutely perfect solution I've been looking for for years. I have two stainless mugs, so I broke the dishwasher tablet in two and used one half in each. It still worked like magic. Thank you and your very helpful assistant!
Awesome! Just what I needed. Simple, relaxed presentation & a great way for a parent to interact positively re:cleaning, learning & use of technology 🙂🙌
Thanks for the video Chris, I did the same on my coffee mugs and this works. I tried other methods, didn't work, but the dish washer tablet seems the easiest and works perfect.
This is absolutely amazing!!! My favourite travel cup had been tea stained for months and I've not been able to get it out and was going to throw it in the bin. I thought I'd have a look to see if anyone had any "hacks" before I did and found this video. Tried it this morning and I'm literally amazed!! This is the best thing that's happened to me this month, hands down, yes I am in my 30's 😂😂 thank you, I am currently sat enjoying my first cup of tea in months from my beautiful cup 🎉❤
Dude you are the wizard. I just did exactly this mine was so stained it was terrible it's immaculate now thank you so much for your time for posting this
Just bought a new thermoplastic and was hesitant to put my coffee in it because of the stain in my old one. Tried your method and it works great. Thanks so much!
Thank you for this. It worked a treat! I had horrible tea stains in a stainless mug too narrow to scrub out and this worked so well. And the video was charming!
This worked so well and it's so EASY! I used powdered dw detergent. The mug I use for tea was terrible inside. Before I tried this, I'd tried scrubbing and vinegar, and the stains/scum didn't look any different. When I was done with this, it looked like new and I didn't have to scrub at all. Thank you!
Today I saw the video and try right away. After 1 hour, the results was amazing. My mug look like brand new. Thank you for sharing this video. Special thanks for special assistance
Cleaned five mugs over the weekend. Painless. Worked great. Used the same technique on a 20 year old tea pot. I didn’t remember it was stainless steel on the inside. Best recommendation - ever!!!
i have to admit when i first saw this i thought this guy was nuts! But i tried it and my Yeti is like brand new. Thank you for posting this video and a special thanks to your assistant!!!
Criminal how easy that was & how well it worked. Thank you! Did have an issue afterwards with the now shiny mug smelling like the dishwasher pod even after a couple extra scrubbings & rinses with boiling water. Likely just the brand pod I used, but solved that issue with a denture cleaning tablet; filled the mug with hot (not boiling) water again, dropped in the tab, let it steep for another hour, and voila no more odor.
I use 2 Thermos brand cups/mugs that I use on a daily basis, one to carry my tea and the other coffee to the office. I would clean it up with a brush and liquid dishsoap every day, but, even then there were tea and coffee stains that had built up in both Thermoses. I hadnt seen your video yet, so I washed out my Thermoses with dishwashing soap one day, then out a scoop of Oxyclean powder into each Thermos, added boiling water to each, and let it sit for about an hour. Like in your video, when I poured out the water/Oxyclean mixture, I saw a lot of brown colored gunk come out, and then I realised that most of the stains were gone!!! I then filled the Thermoses with some hot, soapy water, and scrubbed vigorously with a bottle brush to remove any remaining coffee/tes gunk that remained, and then rinsed the Thermoses out with fresh water. The Thhermoses were clean as a whistle, clean as when I had first bought them from the store!!!:):):) I was very pleased that just a bit of stuff from our home laundry room allowed me to clean the Thermoses up, without having to order stuff from Amazon. Cheers, Chris.
I just tried this using a dishwasher pod since I didn’t have the tablets. It was awesome. I even put my tea strainer in the top of the mug and it cleaned that too. Thanks so much for the tip.
Thank you for this. I did the vinegar and bicarbonate before I saw this and it did not work and then I did the dishwasher tablet and it looks new! Fantastic thank you for sharing
Tried your method an hour ago. Worked perfectly with the dishwasher pack. I was skeptical naturally as other methods did not work, specifically the baking soda and white vinegar. My yeti was severely coffee stained. It now shines as bright as new. No scrubbing needed at all. As soon as I poured the hot water on the pack to the top I could see the brown bubbles starting. Thank you and your assistant very much. Super easy!
Thank you guys a lot. Since I got a Stanley Thermal Bottle, I was struggle to clean it from coffee residue. They say to use sodium bicarbonate but it doesn't work. Your method worked perfectly. The bottle looks brand new. 👍
Thank you Chris, I just tried that. In chem lab we used 60% nitric acid, which is harder to get since 9/11, and stainless is immune tk that but almost everything else dissolves and comes off immediately. Including flesh, lungs, and concrete floors, which makes it a bit overkill to use in the kitchen. My coffee always came off easily, but oh! These tea stains had been impossible. After an hour or two with the dishwasher pod...SPARKLING NEW! Just needed a little scrubbing in the bottom corners. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Thank you SO MUCH! The instructions that come with my Thermos only said to try bicarbonate soda. Which just made it blacker inside. I did this trick with dishwashing tablet, and it ALL came off, no scrubbing at all. AMAZING. Thank you, thank you. (I nearly threw it out!)
This worked. Amazing! Thank you. I tried baking soda, vinegar, boiling water with minimal results. As soon as I added boiling water to the dishwashing pod i could see the tea stains come off. I waited an hour per yours recommendation and it looks brand new inside. It may take less than an hour but I didn't want to risk it and have to start again.
Tried this with my heavily stained thermos (stainless steel inside) and worked perfectly! The amount of black coffee shards which came out after 1 hour was shocking. Inside is like new. I used a "Finish" dishwasher cleaning pod. Note that I chose to cut the plastic off and dispense contents into thermos first. Thanks so much!
Just found this. Tried baking soda and vinegar which did not work. Looking forward to trying this tomorrow. Thank you. Tried this today with my work flask and it worked, using the liquid dishwasher detergent and hot water. Thank you so much.
I first thought it was rust in my travel mug. I then though it may be tea stain. Thank you for confirming that it is just a tea stain and for providing a way to clean it.
Thanks My wife got me a nice travel thermos from Jamaica and it isn't near that bad just a little stain at the bottom vinegar and baking soda won't remove. This looks like it should work if it did that well on a mug with stains that bad
Well I’ve just done my travel tea mug, all I can say is this method is absolutely fantastic I couldn’t believe how clean this made my cup no more disgusting stains, it’s like brand new 👍
Ok. About an hour ago I saw this video. The result was ... it worked. You save the cup was going to throw away because it looked nasty inside. Thank you alot. I was amazed!!!
Very Cute! I am going to give it a go with my coffee carafe ... I brew coffee into a thermos style carafe that at usually have to scrub for an hour with cleanser and a nylon pad.
This works with liquid dishwasher detergent, too. I don't buy the pods so I figured I'd try it with the liquid. My coffee mug hasn't been this clean in quite a while!
This got my Camelbak travel mug spotlessly clean though I didn’t have as good an assistant as you did. That’s what happens when your kids become teenagers… It was literally black inside. Hadn’t cleaned it for years. Oh my days. Will be doing this once a month or so from now on.
Lol. Assistant was the best part of this video. Little beam of sunshine that just brightened my day.

Nicely done.
Give the assistant a two cookie raise.
Awww this is too cute! Your assistant sound super sweet! Thank you for the great tip!
I have tried several "experiments" to clean my stainless coffee carafe with no success. This worked perfectly with almost no effort. Thanks to you and your assistant!

Omg 😂…never would have believed it at first! Thanks to you and your marvellous assistant.
Awesome! Just what I needed. Simple, relaxed presentation & a great way for a parent to interact positively re:cleaning, learning & use of technology 🙂🙌
Worked perfectly, best solution ever! My mugs look brand new again!
I’ve been looking for the answer to this problem for an age now , thank you so much for the tip it works a treat
Did not expect the wholesome energy. It took me by surprise. Made my day. Thank you.
Tried all the usual suggestions with no success. This worked perfectly!! Thanks!
Just used this tip to clean coffee stains from my stainless steel sink. It's now sparkling ✨ Thanks Chris!
Thanks for the video Chris, I did the same on my coffee mugs and this works. I tried other methods, didn't work, but the dish washer tablet seems the easiest and works perfect.

I just did this and I worked BEAUTIFULLY! Thank you!!!
Dude you are the wizard. I just did exactly this mine was so stained it was terrible it's immaculate now thank you so much for your time for posting this
US viewer here. I just tried this on my own stainless steel mug and it works! Thank you so much for uploading this video!
Just bought a new thermoplastic and was hesitant to put my coffee in it because of the stain in my old one. Tried your method and it works great. Thanks so much!
Excellent tip. This method worked for me with no elbow grease or scrubbing required. Thanks for sharing the video.
Thank you for this. It worked a treat! I had horrible tea stains in a stainless mug too narrow to scrub out and this worked so well. And the video was charming!

Just amazing! Worked perfectly. Thank you I now have a brand new clean mug.
Thanks! This is a great answer to a big problem!❤️
Worked great! Thanks for the helpful and fun video!
i have to admit when i first saw this i thought this guy was nuts! But i tried it and my Yeti is like brand new. Thank you for posting this video and a special thanks to your assistant!!!
Great stuff, thank you, Chris. And your glamorous assistant, of course! :-D
Thanks for this. Just got my mug -- almost the same model -- and haven't used it yet but I'm sure going to remember this.

Thanks! This works like a charm. Almost didn't try it because I'm too cheap to use a whole dishwasher cube, but it really does the job.
I used clothes washing powder, a bit cheaper.
It worked effortlessly! Thank you!
Thank you for this. I did the vinegar and bicarbonate before I saw this and it did not work and then I did the dishwasher tablet and it looks new! Fantastic thank you for sharing
Absolutely brilliant..cleaned all my travel mugs..they are just like new..thanks for this great tip 😊

Same for me, backing powder plus vinegar did not work.
It works but expensive solution as we have several stainless cups. Barry’s stains return after a short period of use.
@@kathyh635 As the tablet is rather big, you can try reusing the soapy water (maybe reaheat it in the glass too).
This worked amazingly well. Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you guys a lot. Since I got a Stanley Thermal Bottle, I was struggle to clean it from coffee residue. They say to use sodium bicarbonate but it doesn't work. Your method worked perfectly. The bottle looks brand new. 👍
best assistant ever! definitely needs a raise 😄
Splendid idea! Thank you Team Clean! 🥰
I did this and it worked. I didn't have a cool assistant, but results were wonderful. Thank you.

AMAZING.
Thank you, thank you.
(I nearly threw it out!)
Amazing! The dishwasher tablet worked a treat. The cup is like new, thank you!
This worked like a charm. Amazing tip and great video. Thanks to you both 🙌
You are a life saver! Finally something without baking soda and vinegar!!! And yes this works! 💯Thanks much!
I’m bloody over vinegar and baking soda
This worked. Amazing! Thank you. I tried baking soda, vinegar, boiling water with minimal results. As soon as I added boiling water to the dishwashing pod i could see the tea stains come off. It’s works!!! Thank you for sharing!
Great video... it's simple and easy... not always equivalent but it works, even w/o a cute enthusiastic assistant!
Absolutely delightful and helpful! 💗🎉
Tried your hack. Omg it's brilliant. It's never looked so clean. Will definitely buy some dishwasher tabs for future build up. 👍👍👍
WOW! This worked perfectly! My Yeti looks brand new again. Thanks for this.
Thanks to you both!
I'm going to give this a bash. 😊
Absolutely brilliant, mine's looking brand new!
This works beautifully! Thanks!
My stainless steel mug looks exactly like that from all the tea that I drink. I am going to try this right away. Thank you so much
Well done! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad your assistant was there to help you succeed.

Just found this. Tried baking soda and vinegar which did not work. Looking forward to trying this tomorrow. Thank you.
Tried this today with my work flask and it worked, using the liquid dishwasher detergent and hot water. Thank you so much.
It worked! I used dishwasher powder rather than a tablet. Thanks to you Sir and your assistant!
This is absolutely amazing. Works perfectly ❤
I tried it on my thermos and it worked, thank you!!
I first thought it was rust in my travel mug. I then though it may be tea stain. Thank you for confirming that it is just a tea stain and for providing a way to clean it.

My wife got me a nice travel thermos from Jamaica and it isn't near that bad just a little stain at the bottom vinegar and baking soda won't remove.
This looks like it should work if it did that well on a mug with stains that bad
Im going to try this for sure!! Thx for sharing! 😊
This is legit, thank you sir and your assistant.
It works like a charm. Thank you .
Thank you for the tip. I will try it later. Hope for more content!

Best Assistant ever...too cute
I don’t drink coffee, but I do drink iced tea. I just did this with my mug and the lid. Looks brand new. Thanks for the idea!
I tried all the ways, thank god I came across this video... Perfect!
Saved by CZcams knowledge again!! How did I survive in the 80's, 90's without it??
Exactly the help I needed!
Well I’ve just done my travel tea mug, all I can say is this method is absolutely fantastic I couldn’t believe how clean this made my cup no more disgusting stains, it’s like brand new 👍
How many mugs I have thrown away.... Wow this really works. Thanks so much!
Ok. About an hour ago I saw this video. The result was ... it worked. You save the cup was going to throw away because it looked nasty inside. Thank you alot. I was amazed!!!
Holy sh.... this method really WORKS! Thanks!
Cutest assistant! thanks for this idea….I have tried everything and nothing works. Hopefully this will do the trick on my YETI mug.
Very Cute! I am going to give it a go with my coffee carafe ... I brew coffee into a thermos style carafe that at usually have to scrub for an hour with cleanser and a nylon pad.
You have the best assistant, bro)
I used abrasive liquid dishwasher soap and worked amazing. thank you!
This works with liquid dishwasher detergent, too. I don't buy the pods so I figured I'd try it with the liquid. My coffee mug hasn't been this clean in quite a while!
Sterident denture cleaning tablets also work well and are cheaper. Worth a try.
This got my Camelbak travel mug spotlessly clean though I didn’t have as good an assistant as you did. That’s what happens when your kids become teenagers… It was literally black inside. Hadn’t cleaned it for years. Oh my days. Will be doing this once a month or so from now on.
Works brilliantly. Good man
It’s a very easy method .
Just tried it . Too good
THANKS
i just tried it and the immediate results were astonishing 😮
Your assistant is adorable 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the tip.
