Are all their songs like this? No. Babymetal is difficult to describe. Every song is different. Some are wildly different and yet... you can immediately recognize them as Babymetal - even the first time you hear them.

Su is pretty easy to recognize. She has a unique voice which is very important. Sounding like everyone else is boring. I don't like listening to someone who sounds like they had a lot of singing lessons.

Babymetal have such a diverse catalogue of songs. They are always melding genres so it's worth listening to a bunch of songs to get a proper feel for what they do. I recommend Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse or Road of Resistance Live in Japan.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊You have just discovered Japan's top export, there is no other band quite like BABYMETAL. They pioneered their own new genre as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group mixing Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics and they have been going since 2010 when they were aged 12 and 11.
They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014.
We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet, first Japanese band to headline Wembley Arena, first Asian (not just Japanese) band to have an album at number 1 on the US Billboard Hard Rock charts. They sell out venues wherever they play in the world and filled the Tokyo Dome (55,000 people) two nights running without an opening act when they played there.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The original third member was Yuimetal, she left the band in 2018 for health reasons, Momometal became the third member in April last year.
The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands.
They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. The Kami Band of the West (American musicians) joined them in 2019 and have been the full time support for the lengthier tours around the world (they played nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year).
You will only see and hear the Kami Band in live performances, they do not record the studio versions (with one guitarist being the known exception).
So this song "Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi!“ The song title doesn't translate easily as it is a made up word - it is actually 'Metali' (or 'Metari') which is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!".
They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki theatre section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance.
You asked are all BABYMETAL songs like this one ... well yes, but no. They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it.
Their official videos are all very good, but live BABYMETAL is best. I'm sure you will get some great suggestions for more songs. Some are straight metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. All you can be sure of is that they will surprise you every time, you will not be able to predict what you will see or hear from them next. Expect the unexpected.🦊🤘

Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This popular song was recently performed 3 time in USA (San Francisco x2 + Las Vegas festival).
BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

Awesome, and welcome to Babymetal! These gals are 14-year industry veterans and one of the best live bands out there. While officially just the 3 girls, their band "The Kami Band" always backs them live (fully since 2014, US band members since 2019). They combine J-Pop and Metal for a unique sound, from goofy songs about girls wanting chocolate to a song so prog that Mike Portnoy hismelf gave them his thumbs up. So yeah, their musical range is quite varied lol.
I definitely suggest you checking out more Babymetal, they've become my favorite band, and they are best experienced live:
*Road of Resistance (Official Live):* 9 years ago, epic power metal battle anthem. Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce co-wrote guitars on this one.
*Monochrome (Pia Arena MM):* Apr 2023, a newer melodic and emotional hard-rock song with amazing crowd moments.
*Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Heavy, dark, ominous, lead Su-metal's solo showcasing her vocal prowess at 16, and the band says hi.
*Megitsune (Pia Arena MM):* A quintessential Babyemtal classic since 2013. Performed over 340+ times live to date!
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Yes, all there songs are like this in that they are different. They like to experiment and push the boundaries of what music is. You mentioned Electric Callboy; Babymetal is hosting a festival in Japan later this month, and Electric Callboy is one of the artists on the bill. Polyphia is another, and that should give some idea of their style.

Also your shirt has Led Zeppelin at Wembley in 1971, Babymetal had their first big concert overseas at the same Wembley Arena (as it's now called) in 2016. 🙂
    Subbed for more.

Good reaction to an amazing group going strong in their own genre for 14 years now - with wildly vcarying tracks that constantly surprise - but are almost invariably good from a first listen. If you choose to listen to/watch any more of them I'd strongly advise LIVE (but not official unless recommended which often misses intros, band etc and is possibly studio track ) which hits massively harder. Having twittered on about "official" - the official live video of this is VERY good and kinda blows this out of the water - and I like this MV. More please :)

    @Filboid2000 Před 4 měsíci +3

BABYMETAL HAS GOT THEIR KAWAII BACK!!! You'll know what I mean should you explore "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" (their first two albums).
The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after watching a number of them! Anyway . . . .
You’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of these recommended songs (along with suggested versions):
Doki Doki Morning (official music video)
    Iine! (official MV)
Gimme Chocolate!! (official MV or Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
    Megitsune (official MV)
BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) [for those who are religiously sensitive, see the Budokan Black Night 2014 version]
Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Song 4 No Uta (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Uki Uki * Midnight (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Catch Me If You Can (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Live at Sonisphere 2014 version)
    Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Road of Resistance (Legend 2015 New Year Fox Festival version)
    Karate (official MV)
Meta Taro (Five Fox Festival version)
    GJ! (Fox Festival 2017 version)
Sis Anger (Fox Festival 2017 version)
    Shanti Shanti Shanti (official MV)
    Pa Pa Ya!! (official MV)
    BxMxC (official MV)
    Metalizm (official MV)
    Metali!! (official MV) [DONE]
I would include the links but, for some reason, CZcams sometimes thinks I'm posting spam and will delete my comment. For the links, see the CZcams playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty”; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 CZcams channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
By the way, this music video would have been so much better had they not had Vin Diesel in the background wearing a panama hat and pretending to play guitar. 😁
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)
    KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

I got to see them twice in concert last year and it was fantastic...out of the numerous concerts that I have been too, the Babymetal concert was by far the best of them all, and I plan on seeing them again when they come back around.

Not quite thecSong is called Metali. Its Story is a Kind of Summerfest but with less Restrictions. This is onevof their important themes from the beginning less restrictions for Women. These Summerfests are for japanes Customs extremly un restricted but until this year women were not allowed. This song by itself Was a surprised. It was their only song outside of an Album. Originally they were 3 members but in 2018 Yui had to stop due to health reasons but in April 2023 they finally made one of their Guest dancers to their official third Metal. When their last Album appeared in manch 2023 Momoko was still N Avenger without a voice. But they wanted to put a spotlight on her d so they added this new song thT contained a small Kabuki Scene by here and a geowl. This was the only thing where she appeared singinging with the Exception of "Leave it all behind" that was published this April bye the Thai Rapper F. Hero in Collaboration with the Thai Rocklegend Bodyslam and Babymetal (they knew each other since 2019 when F. Hero wrote for them Paoaya).

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Always glad to see new reactors getting to know this amazing group and making the fans going bonkers with this great collab song along with guitar legend Tom Morello, they recently did it last weekend at Sick New World Festival, Las Vegas and last week at The Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok in San Francisco. And talking about Electric Callboy, they will be playing this month at the FOX_FEST in Japan along with many more local bands and also Polyphia.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
"This is officially the first new song by the newly reborn BABYMETAL, now consisting of SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL.
This song is very up-tempo and one that was created with the envision of a summer festival taking place in a metal village and everyone forming a circle to celebrate the festival.
BABYMETAL is ready to make this summer even hotter with their new song.
BABYMETAL are now celebrating a very special collaboration with legendary guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine.
This collaboration with BABYMETAL will become a very exciting opportunity for both artists transcending generations."
    Tom Morello comment:
_"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"_
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV (2015)
I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      czcams.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/video.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      czcams.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/video.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/video.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      czcams.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/video.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      czcams.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/video.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/video.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      czcams.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/video.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      czcams.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/video.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      czcams.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/video.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.

    Welcome to FOXHOLE
You are on the edge of the abyss and there is no escape
You have to see them live, they are a unique audio visual spectacle
For me Electric callboy sounds like Babymetal with male voices.....But Babymetal is much better.
Electric callboy, they are good, I have not said anything bad against them.
Each Babymetal song is a world apart, so it's guaranteed fun
