I use to get my comics graded... the only value they hold is in the absolute top tier grading. 9.+. The only reason you would grade cards/comics is to sell them. For comics its 9.4+ that really boosts the value. I quit grading books because I quit flipping... selling turns into a slippery slope. Where eventually its like you are running a business and not even "collecting" anymore. I lost sight of the hobby aspect and turned it into business. I was moving thousands of dollars in books regularly and eventually realized that I wasn't even enjoying myself. I quit cold turkey and now only occasionally buy books. But thats why I collect cards... strictly to collect something I don't have and try to stay away from turning it into a flipping/ripping/breaks activity. When you make a hobby a job, its literally that and the nostalgia and enjoyment rapidly fades. Thanks for sharing your adventure sir. Grading is completely subjective in nature and is truly "in the eye of the beholder"
Yeah, I completely agree. I’m glad I did this because I wanted to see the whole process, but I don’t care if a personal card I have is graded or not. If it’s a card that’s valuable and I don’t particularly want, I don’t mind grading to sell.

After grading costs, eBay fees and shipping expenses (I probably need to learn how eBay shipping works for accurate amounts) I squeezed out a small profit. Add in my time, and I super lost money. My thought, pass on eBay selling and sell off a live stream to us James. Why so no, when it feels so good to say yes buddy.

Dude, we are on the same experimental path….😂.I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m about to send in about 60ish cards to psa to see what comes back. All hockey…my GPK stuff is staying with me until I see the results.
Good call, but I honestly think it depends on the grader of the day. This person graded more “damaged” cards higher. It was nuts. All of the OS1 cards were in ok condition compared to the rest; they graded higher?
Nice 10s!!! I’m not a PSA fan. I also there is some definite card mishandling and other shady stuff going on there. I think the defiantly cater to the big money companies that send thousands of submissions in and give them the benefit of the doubt and better grades while crapping on the little guy. I also sent a card in twice just to see. First time it got a 7 then 6 months later same card gets a 9?? You’re telling me the condition improved over time? 😂 come on!! As always enjoy the videos my friend.
You can’t tell through the video but some os1 cards in worse condition than Adam Booms graded higher. They totally destroyed the purple banner Billy. It sucked.
I’ve personally never understood the allure of grading GPK other than financial reasons. Those slabs are so ugly/bulky, distract from the art and you can’t smell that sweet stale gum aroma they give off 😂

I think all card grading companies should all put the sub grades on every slab. Transparency!

Somebody got a great deal on the unzipped zack, yes submit more cards but maybe take pictures of the cards before sending?
Oh, there is a picture they send you back to verify but it’s impossible to tell. I’ll talk about it in a future video.
