Darel valley, and tangir valley undiscovered gems of the Pakistan, on of the best treks connecting ghizer valley with darel and tangir valley,, in summers local shepherds from darel valley migrated to the pastures of singal nala ghizer and other nearest valleys of ghizer, I recommend this palce a must go place.
Both are scenically beautiful valleys and people are so much caring hospitable and cooperative. We had an amazing time there. There is history significance of these valleys, Buddhist used these tracks hundred years ago
My homeland darel is my symbol of indentity,it's heaven on the earth.The most prominent aspects about my valley are hospitality of people living in and its historical back ground like phuguch at the start of the valley has a budmat university which was center point of all asian budist people,it takes us towards the 700 ad back in the past.And the thing which is distinct about darel is that first PHD holder in gilgit baltistan is from darel.I'm proud to be darelian.

As a veteran Trekker, a small piece of advise for all the potential trekkers, please move as a team in these areas. The weather mood swings in minutes and the visibility drops to absolute zero in no time. As everyone is exhausted, looking for a trekker who went astray is almost impossible. I believe that my sincere comment would be taken in a positive spirit.

We faced so many swings of weather in that worse case we don’t move we try to stay there. Secondly we don’t go alone We hire local guide, porters n chef. So this staff is always helping with every client there must be 1 porter to support him.

Recently an experienced trekker lost his life in Swat, who despite being local, went astray from his team and couldn't survive due to ill health. We are crossing most technical passes in Pakistan only few foreigners crossed these passes For technical passes we hire technical team, professional guide, porters and chef. We do all kinds of necessary experience we don’t go for economy we prefer safety to experience most challenging routes & terrains.

I alongwith my friends explored darel and tangir valley some 36 years back with limited resources. At that time we crossed the river indus near a village shayal. We crossed the river on 4 flatened tubes of a bus upon which they had fastened some woods with the help of ropes. They called it jaala. The name of the peson, who sailed the jala, was dhamaka. Dhamaka was a poor and very simple person. It was the month of January and we could hardly travel ascending track for one and a half day and thereafter because of snowfall and snow we could not go ahead. We camped for two nights in the snow and then came back. People of darel valley were very pure, simple and good people and very good hosts. I remember their hospitality till now. I am a retired professor from kohat k p k.

Did you and others used crampons on your shoes while hiking on slopes full of snow ?
Wa Alaikum Aslaam there is no need of crampons in this terrain, crampons you need on solid glaciers like Karakoram.
I missed this track, I was planning for it, but hats off to you sir, that you did it earlier. Amazing efforts....
You can do it in August, you'll get mesmerising view of lakes.

I alongwith my friends explored darel and tangir valley some 36 years back with limited resources. At that time we crossed the river indus near a village shayal. We crossed the river on 4 flatened tubes of a bus upon which they had fastened some woods with the help of ropes. They called it jaala. The name of the peson, who sailed the jala, was dhamaka. It was the month of January and we could hardly travel ascending track for one and a half day and thereafter because of snowfall and snow we could not go ahead. We camped for two nights in the snow and then came back. People of darel valley were very pure, simple and good people and very good hosts. I remember their hospitality till now. I am a retired professor from kohat k p k.
The name of the village was Shatyal. It has been miss spelt.
