BRASSO on a cloth does exactly the same and also a quick splash of glass cleaner to shine the glass, don't know the price of Acryl but a tin of brasso is about £2.00
in 10 seconds I can clean the glass even better and for free with no mess. Take a sheet of newspaper crunch it up into a ball dip it in water. dip the newspaper into the ash in the tray. Clean the glass. Job done. wipe excess off with other newspaper. put all newspaper in the fire. Job done. Cost=nothing. time= seconds
Jst use the. White fine wood ash with water on a dishwash plastic sponge. No cost, cleans quickly and does not scratch.
