I'm a big guy covered in tattoos, and I love my long haired Chihuahua. I got her at 4 weeks because her mother had emergency surgery after giving birth and the family was overwhelmed feeding all the pups. I was in a dark place in my life and nurturing this pup and gaining her unwaivering love changed me. She'll be my best friend for life.
after 15 years my long haired Teka-girl passed away. she was the sweetest little thing ever. I still cry for her and that was 10 years ago.

I’m about to move out from my house and my ex is keeping the long hair chihuahua and I am in absolute tears over it. This dog taught me what unconditional love looks like. She is so intelligent and playful and sweet and enthusiastic and excited to meet absolutely everybody ever.

I was going to get one 20 years ago , but before I could even get all the $ together y After I'd spent a lot of time y even $ on toys , gave her her 1st bath because these jerks were Acquaintances , so I bathed little Chalupa in their tub y spent a few nights with Chalupa y them . But , before I could get all the $ , they sold her without telling me before she left . We were SOOOOOOO bonded !

My Brody was a long haired white chi. Adopted him when he was 4. He was such a darling. Loved everyone. So calm. So adaptable. Loved long trips in the car. Loved going ANYWHERE in the car. He still lives in my heart. He passed when he was 15. The day I had to put him down, he could barely walk. However he got enough strength to follow me to the bathroom one more time. 😭. I still miss him.
I am going absolutely insane bc of my long haired chihuahua. I can’t get enough of him! Too adorable for his own good tbh I sometimes don’t feel like I deserve him bc he never skips a beat in showing me all his affection. Incredibly smart and honestly so obedient that it’s crazy. Going into this I never thought he would turn out like this bc of the bad rep that the chihuahua breed has been given online even going as far as being called “spawns of satan” 😭 when it couldn’t be further from the truth in regards to my lil one who is a complete Angel ❤️

Much more sweet personality than the short hair! Not yappy, loves kids, loves everyone! Does bark when someone comes to the door or hears loud sudden noises. No need for monthly grooming fees, just wash, dry and brush. Great pets, very loving......just a little stubborn with pad training....gets confused easy. I rescued a kitten about a year ago and he is huge now...I think that confused her about the puppy pad using, so she has accidents now, but she was doing very well before. She is three now! Wouldn't give her up for a million dollars. But the cat, I would! He needs a home!

After my short haired Chi passed away, I decided my next Chi would be a long hair. She is now 3 years old and I think I will probably stick with long haired Chi forever! I love all that fluff! She has been great with my niece since she was a puppy, in the early stages we made sure that both child and dog were being respectable towards each other so that probably helped- Chihuahuas aren't always a terror with kids!
Chihuahuas are not a terror with kids at all, it's just that they are ten times as vulnerable to break a leg or spine if dropped from any height, or experience severe damage to a squeeze. You did good! Your dog and niece are obviously good beings.

We had a short hair for 19 years. Now we have a long hair. He is 2 years old. His companion is a long hair Doxie! They are perfect together! Get into lots of mischief chasing squirrels and making messes. The chichi is the biggest lap dog. Always wants to be petted.

There's a critical error in this video. All kind of chihuahuas loves children as much as any other dog, ti's just that they are too fragile for toddlers to hold or lift. As of their nature they need a bit more training of trust before handling in such fashion, and wil jolt out of a kids hold in a split second only to break a leg or spine.

I love my long-haired Chihuahua, she is a rescue dog. I received her when she was 11 years old. She immediately took to me and is 13 now, as I live with my father and my children. Her name is Reese, she chose me I have had two and both tend to favor one in the household however at the same time great with everybody from young children right to my father at 71 (soft skin).
She is extremely loyal loves to lay on my lap, snuggle, they want to be touching you they want to be pampered and you definitely have to be able to give this dog / breed full attention as they are very active, very lovable, like a toddler per se. I would recommend this breed to anybody that is looking for a dog as a companion, if you need a reason to get up in the morning, want a fluffy furry little friend. this breed of dog will win over the toughest of people that do not want a pet My father has never had a dog and never let us as children.! But he has grown to love Reese and vice versa... Please only get this breed if you truly have the time to give this precious precious breed. They are not a breed that belongs in a dog cage 24/7! If you loved and treat this breed proper they will love you back and give you a sense of comfort as these dogs also show their emotions very well.

I was so thrilled when a friend gave me a long haired chi for mothers day
He was so tiny and sweet. I also jsbe a short haired deer headed 14 yr old chi he weighs 7lbs. The point os my little baby kept growing! At 1 1/2. He weighs 13 lbs and is taller than our Toby. He is beautiful we were disappointed when he kept growimg his name afterall is Toy.. but hes still named Toy and we find much joy havimg him. I thimk maybe the Pappion is in his genes.❤❤❤

I had a long haired chihuahua and it had a puppy that was short hair and still this day everytime I breed him with another short hair chihuahua he would always have at least one long hair. The breeders would always be shocked and happy and usually keep the long hair one for them selves.

I have a red haired long hair Chihuahua.
He doesn't bark often he barked maybe twice in the last 3 years and it was a soft bark. He wants to Love on anyone and everyone and He loves sleeping under the cover in my bed. When he gets scared from a thunderstorm he will get up on my chest and lay his face against mine. I try taking him everywhere I go except in a restaurant or Dr office and when I do have to leave him it tears him into pieces.

im long term sick a mate got me a long haired all black chi, to help cheer me up a bit, Mr Tao is wonderful company loving full of life, hes made such a difference to my physical/mental health, everyday is no longer filled with pain dragging myself along, thinking whats the point, everyday now is filled with excitment potential,, unconditional LOVE, warmth, a chi is a dog normally i would never think of owning, but im so glad/blessed to have him in my life, even managed to get dressed take him to the groomers today, thats a victory for us, just going out, IF u r thinking of grtting a chi, bassed on Taotwotoe,9his kennel name lol) i strongly recomend it, Tao is a very loving dog he want a lot of attention, but who could say no,,,love &contentmen, bob&tao,

These dogs are very smart even as a puppy i have a four month old and i love her so much always crying to be with me getting her another companion and cant wait we are going to attack the world together as a team i will always have dogs i love them alot mine looks like the thumbnail too cute even people stopped in cars to say how cute she is i cant wait to spoil them my dog doesn't like to be around bigger dogs right now especially pit bulls she always wants protection my other dog looks like a Male puppy amstaf when i get him from the pound i will know.

We got our long hair chi baby a couple year ago at 16 weeks. He had a Grade 3 heart murmur for 8 months to a year. Well he has added new meaning to the word shyness. He doesn't and won't meet anyone. If someone walks in the house they never see him Bernstein he hides. I brought him outside to see a friend I've had for long time and peed on me twice and struggled to get away from me. He will only go out at night and that's just to the porch go find cat food. He sleeps most of the time. Comes out at night in the house to eat n play a little. Will he ever grow out of that.
