Many thanks...I ran across one of these under my wife’s grandfather’s old workbench. He’s deceased and I’m the only likely one in the family to appreciate or have use for some of his stuff. Just did a complete restoration after months of “a few minutes here and there.” Beautiful and useful vise, scars, chips, and all. Thanks again for your assistance!
Love watching restoring vintage vises!! Looking for hobbies old vise to restore if lucky!! Checking out auction sales this spring! Bye bye shipmate!!!!
Anyone have an idea of what the screw thread and size is that hold the jaws on? I recently redid one of these and lost the jaw screws so now I'm looking to see where I can find replacements.
I’m not sure. And unfortunately I don’t have anything to measure the threads with. I’d suggest trying a Facebook group such as Bench Vises Forever. Many helpful and knowledgeable people on that group.
Very good restoration vise 👍👍👍

4:43 Sounds like you have a monstrous air conditioner running in the background :D
Nice video btw :)
Grandson Projects thanks! I think the camera was just picking up my shop fan super loud for some reason. 🤷🏽♂️

@@thomasneff376 you’re welcome!
The anvil and hardy tool should not be painted. Otherwise good video
Milan Radak thanks. Yeah I thought about that after I did it. But bang a few things on the anvil and that paint will come right off. Good as new
