in music, there are tastes and colors, there are also particular acquaintances, harmonic emotions, musical past etc... this level of musical osmosis, I have not often felt it. it's a gift for me, a music lesson, something exceptional! I don't know if we will meet one day, Gonzalo, so thank you here for this extraordinary teaching! what amazing music! thank you !
Outstanding! It's breathtaking to wait for the theme to come in. It comes in only around 3:12. Last time I saw Ignacio was in the 80s. We're all much older and he got even better. You can tell there's a timbalero Inside the jazz drummer. Wow. Blew my socks off.
Wonderful performance...the definitive version of Caravan for all time. Carlos Henriquez on Bass and Ignacio Berroa on Drums - very similar to their performance at the 2000 Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. Rubalcaba's joyful creativity with these pieces is incredible and I love the interactions between the trio.
Dear Trio of Heaven, I really did not know what H A P P E N D with me listening to your performance, but it really made me H A P P Y, E X C I T I N G and V I B R A N T !

Martin, the name of this son is Caravan. Writers are Duke Ellington, Juan Tizol and Irving Mills. I am not sure if there is an Album. While in youtube go to search and type in caravan. Look for Duke Ellington. Greetings from Arroyo Grande, California, USA. We are all in lock-down due to the Covit-19, have been for almost three months. Don't know where you are, but stay save:-)))
Martin, you are so welcome. I will drop a few albums in the future. I can say that this is one beautiful album. Stay safe my friend. There are so many albums and sounds that are coming to us in the USA from Argentina. I love your music very much:-)))
Can someone explain how he made the piano sound like the strings were slapped? (Like in 1:23-25) I figure it's all about your accents on the notes, but can anyone help explain how it's done?
Interview with Gonzalo Rubalcaba released on NBC Talkin 'Jazz in 1996 remastered by the producer and director of the program, Richard Journo czcams.com/video/d6PR4MfzpoQ/video.html

What. Was. That? I’ve been listening to jazz for 27 years, and I’ve never heard anyone take “Caravan” to that level.
Just wow.
Oh yes, the Rubalcaba level. You should check out how he plays giant steps.
Rubalcaba is in another level, hes control on the piano is out of this world. Carlos and Ignacio amazing too

I don't know who he is, but i saw him on CZcams playing with Winton Marsalis

Caravan, as necessarily was not good composition in its original, is really composed here by Rubalcaba's improvisation !
Caravan is a jazz standard and you say that? Thanks for the info Mr. Chopin.
