I've been working on the job site in this video since right around the time these guys started hauling dirt around and I'm still there today putting together the treatment plant for the development. it's amazing how much the landscape has changed. it's truly staggering how much these guys shape the earth. the most I do is dig a trench for storm drain. this is a whole different ball game.
This is a big development with several scraper spreads and some large loaders working on it as well, but around here it is normal to see these big machines even on much smaller scale projects. For example, I'll be posting some stuff later on from another project a little smaller than this one that a different contractor is doing but they are using 2 5130's and a fleet of 777's!
Haha he did that just for you letsdig18 to make you wonder... It's actually from when he was working down in the "mud hole" in the valley behind/below, pulling himself out the counter weight and ass end got a little taste of the fun. Other side ain't as bad but those track frames sure gained a few pounds, a Hitachi 800 was rented to finish the digging down there and this guy came up the hill to start this fun diggin you see here.

Sounds like it has an exhaust leak
"Rusty & Co - Earthmoving Contractors" :-)
The 5110B has a distincive sound to it when digging.Must be close to 10 years old. What camera do you use?
Sounds like a giant lawn mower! Hahaha
I read the description but either I didn't notice the exhaust leak comment some how or he added it later.
That's some nasty, rocky terrain.
Is this a big housing development? Or is it normal with theese big ass machines in this type of jobs?
What is the name of this contractor that owns this kind of iron?
That's been round the block a few times..
