The vomit psycast is probably one of the best you can literally put enemies out of combat for 15-45 seconds depending on their sensitivity

@@Noobert That's just force sea-sick/g-force sickness on people. Honestly if you toss enough power at a people IRL it'll lead to the same effect. There are actual weapons made with this effect for crowd control.
Personally I think its worth it, it adds a lot of good stuff that works for a lot of different playstyles, adds more danger with the mech clusters which make me break out of my defensive phases to deal with serious problems (SCREW YOU AUTO MORTARS) and I like the expanding of the lore with the Empire.

I really like the choosing of quest rewards, and the alternative win condition, along with a host of other good stuff. I personally think the Royalty DLC is worth it.

Good coverage of the mod; but (I'm guessing time constraint reasons). Tribals got no love.
Huge mega comment following to give the appropriate love to the Tribal psycasters.
Tribal rules:
1) Tribals love the magical blue glowing tree. (Anima tree)
2) Tribals can get psycast levels from their tree growing psychic grass (Anima Grass)
3) Non-tribal recruits or people without a "Natural" backstory can NOT use the tree or make grass or use grass... the tree cannot help you unnatural spacers.
More detailed info:
Anima Tree:
The tree is a magical meditation focus (like thrones) that has an extra power. If you have a natural person meditate there, grass will grow near it.
The tree is fireproof, but not 100% resistant. Alphabeavers, explosions, or people clearcutting CAN destroy it.
If destroyed there is a mood debuff for all pawns for several days.
If destroyed a new tree will grow somewhere at random in about 30-45 days (2-3 seasons).
With NO buildings nearby, this tree provides a 30% Meditation boost, which will lessen for any nearby buildings down to zero if you build around it... this is NOT the worst thing ever.
Shorter trips to the tree, grass growing at the same rate, and a pawn's base 50% psychic gain/day of meditation (about 2%/hour) might be worth the tradeoff of setting up your base ON the tree.
Anima grass:
This is not food for animals, and they avoid eating it (thankfully). It is however flammable and Randy will set it on fire with dry thunderstorms and upset you... because Randy.
ANY Natural pawn (even with NO psycast level) meditating near the tree will grow grass. Set a spot, assign it, and schedule time for Natural pawns to meditate and you get grass.
(about 6 hours of meditation per grass I think, maybe 8 hours per; with a slowdown soft cap if you overdo it on one day, so it's a while to get to good numbers)
At 20 (or more) grass (so 120 total meditation hours-ish) ONE "natural" focus pawn can "link" taking several hours to do the ritual and consuming 20 grass to gain a psylink level.
Just like using a psylink from a title, you gain the next rank and a random psy-power of that new level.
Psychics:
Tribal psychics work just like Imperial psychics with the same powers, limitations, casts, etc. Same psyfocus, neural heat, same everything.
However there is no title associated with this, and tribals won't need a throneroom or bedroom or restrictions as their power is not linked to the Empire.
The Empire doesn't like/hate/care about you doing this.
This means having a colony of level 6 psychic Tribals does not need weird clothes and fancy bedrooms and expensive thrones for being all "Count/Countess" titled pawns.
Just a tree and time.
Note, you do NOT gain any of the Imperial calls/requisitions either. you have no "honor" and no "title"... just psychic abilities from the magical glowing tree and its radioact... I mean, its magic.
Tribal drawbacks are still where they were... Your research stinks on ice, is slow, and you start with no real tech.
But you get the easiest mass psycasters now, if you survive that long.
There are rumors of stones that improve a tree, and some shrines can be built as well either as new meditation points (that do not grow grass) or to boost a tree's meditation powers.
But these all have the same issues with building walls/tables/chairs/beds/etc nearby, so they might not gain anything.
Odd crossover on meditation.
Each pawn can have one (or more) medication focus types. You can have LOTS of choices in one pawn if you're lucky.
Natural - (backstory driven... most tribal starts, some others) - Meditate at Anima Tree/Campfire/Shrines, ONLY one that can grow Anima Grass
Ascetic - (Ascetic trait) - Meditate to a blank wall. Yep, that's it. Staring at the wall.
Morbid - (Cannibal/Psychopath/Bloodlust/?) - Meditate to graves or sarcophagi (filled with corpses are better, filled with relatives are better still).
Artistic - (generic for non-natural I think? if you have nothing else, you get this) - Meditate to artwork.
Dignified - (gained when you get a title) - Throne to meditate.
The trick here is if multiple types you CAN use are in range, you will use the best.
So your Tribal Psychopath might do better with sarcophagi near the tree.
He gets the 20-30% bonus from the graves AND because he's within meditation range of the tree it DOES still grow grass.
NOTE: If you tribal gains a title and gets a throneroom; he will tend to meditate in his throneroom and NOT at the tree (which can make managing the grass growing a pain)
I have hopes this can be changed/fixed/modded by someone, but for now I avoid getting titles for tribals. Recruits who can't grow grass make for better choices here.

Just got this and I already love it. The addition of new bionics, armour, weapons, and factions is AWESOME, and 100% one of my favorite things in the game. It is SO COOL
I get the feeling the wiki was used for this video while it was in the process of being updated. Some parts still aren't updated.
Psychic entropy is neural heat now, orbital strikes are aerodrones.
All persona weapons used to be called "linked", and the monosword was updated at the same time as the Zeushammer and Plasmasword. Its a persona weapon with traits too.
Theres extra permits like steeldrop.
etc.
Still a good video though, given how in-flux everything is with all the updates.
Yeah had to use the wiki to get some info. Its the best way to make sure whatever im sharing is as accurate as possible. It eould be pretty darn embaressing to make a video and find out my math was super wrong or somthing didnt work the way i said it did. The ultimate purpose of these videos is to show people cool and interesting things about the game. Give people some new ways to experience it. The game has endless replay value so its cool to have some fresh stuff to spice things up.
@@Noobert Don't stress. Its been basically impossible to naturally experience everything the game has to offer before the next update comes out, and things like the Wiki, Dev Mode or looking at the game files can all be misleading in their own ways. There's stuff in all 3 that just aren't actually available in game normally.
Mistakes are always going to happen, but the content has been great.

My favorite thing to do with this DLC is to drop pod a super soldier into the center of an enemy settlement, rough them up a bit then use farskip to teleport me and my 4 other soldiers to their location and clean up

I am a simple man. I have no royalty and no need for space marines. I ride through the Rimworld by Attack Helicopter with Kurin Foxgirl army, created by human-foxgirl couple who dont know tf is "Contraception" or birth control....
Also all the kids somehow hated their aunt :/ poor Katie lost her tail in social fight with her niece (bitten off)...
Epic Rimworld experience, with less organ harvesting because selling bunch of booze provide more steady income than organs (defense too stronk)
They deserve all the money in the world for this game.

GREAT GAME INDEED
The DLC, though it is very awesome, would not satisfy me nearly as much if I were to play it with Vanilla Psycasts Expanded.
Cataphracts, jannisaries. As an AoE2 fan I approve of this dlc. On a more serious note the idea of having more background to the game is epic. Love the royalty, love the option to rebel, love the permits and benefits.
Me when it came out: 20 bucks anf psychic powers? Cool. Plasma swords? Geese? Sold. Need to start a goose farm this run.

i wish you could cover more on rebelling against the empire, do mechanoids still get more aggressive if one chooses not to help the empire ? all in all i think the royalty dlc makes the game look more magical than its old simple survival counterpart. i wish they worked more on the trading side of the game, maybe introducing a blackmarket or even joining hands with the mechanoids or insects against the royalty đđ that would be fun. also travelling across seas and oceans could be a interesting. Its funny how they went from straight nomadic cattle caravaning to a giant rocket, skipping all the in between technology, one would imagine they could build tanks or atleast trucks for caravaning. disguising as other faction to attack could be fun too, using psychic emitters against other factions for attacking or for improving relations or trade prices would be great. also solar flares should affect mechanoids. what do you think?

Rebellion is in a weird spot, itâs nice to be able to have physic powers without a title but just getting it from random locations makes it bad. We need like empire outpost raids that have them as well as stash locations.
Shame they got rid of the psylink slagging, it was nice to be able to take them from royals.

Ngl, for me personally rimworld is probably have the best DLC content, unlike other games which its dlc is just a dime of content for a high price, the rimworld dlc is fair, it might have quitw a price but it deliver the promised price tag

I have waited about 6 months since it came out to buy it and I am not very satisfied with it overall. I would have gladly payed $$ in a heartbeat if they would have released 'Save our Ship2' as DLC or RimWar. If Royalty was a mod, it wouldn't go in every play through as it doesn't mesh with every scenario my demented mind can conjure, so I don't recommend it unless you want to support Tynan.

The reason that I don't like the royalty DLC is it's just a cheap copy of the Dwarf Fortress. which is uninspiring and can't say it's fit to the setting.
I cant relate ive never been able to grasp dwarf fortress enough to play it.
