  • In this video i break down what you actually need to do the complete J32a3 swap in your 7th gen (03-07) honda accord v6.
    -In order to complete the swap you'll need a J32a3 from a 3rd gen Acura TL (04-08)
    -you can use the both the j32a3 manual and automatic transmission, or j30a4 manual transmission.
    ** if you have a Accord V6 from 03-05 you'll need to use the a j32a3 from a 04-06 Acura Tl, because on the 07 and 08 Acura Tl Honda change the bell housing. You need make sure you get the right year or your engine and transmission won't mate up correctly.
    If you guys have any questions make sue you hit me up on Instagram @jseries__shawn.

    03-07 Accord share the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 04-06 TL.
    The bellhousing bolt pattern changed in 08 for the Accord, and 07 in the TL.

    Very nice my friend. I have my 04 Acura TL that I found with the 6-speed and man I got it for a good deal and you would probably have a blast driving it I did almost a really really thorough deletion of a lot of things on the inside I don't even have a passenger seat I mean I'm down about 3,200 lb and this thing started out got the Natty model which is almost 3,600 lbs in some cases so the point of that was just to get the car nimble because really the weight reduction is most effective at the way the body reacts in certain situations acceleration of course is minimal as far as the weight reduction unless it's a substantial amount like a thousand pounds or something but nonetheless

  • @bujin5455
    @bujin5455 Před rokem

    1) I have no idea why you would bother with swapping the J32, when you could choose either the J35 or even the J37. (Avoid versions with cylinder deactivation!)
    2) Matching engine year to vehicle year doesn't matter. Honda is not going to pay to retool all of their factories so they can randomly change mounts and bolt patterns over time (certainly not within the same generation), and even if they did, those are trivial issues to deal with anyway.
    3) The transmission to have is either going to be an LSD equipped manual from the 3rd gen TL (all TL manuals have an LSD), or CL (same). Or the more aggressively geared manual out of Gen 8 or 9 Accord V6 M6 (but lacks the LSD). The Acura trans will give you the LSD and better fuel economy. The Gen 8/9 V6M6 trans will provide more acceleration (though you will very likely be traction limited most of the time). In fact, the gearing difference of the Gen 8/9 may provide an even bigger boost to acceleration than the engine swap itself! (Assuming you can put the power down.) But you marry the J37 with a Gen8/9 trans, in the light weight Gen 7 body, and you're going to be seriously quick. Though personally I'd go J37 with slower TL LSD trans, as grip matters more to me personally.
    4) Yes, you can put the Acura LSD into the gen 8/9 trans, but you aren't really gaining anything there, as most of the gearing differences come from the final out gear, which you're inheriting with the Acura LSD.

      If you tried a manual ecu from tl cl 99 manual or 03 accord manual & later it will requires extensive rewiring of the harnesses from ecu to engine & body.

      If you want to swap over a v6 transmission into a 04 to 05 TL, you would need a 03-05 accord v6 transmission. Everything else will match like the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate

      You could also use a J35A6 from a 2005-2006 Odyssey. This will get you about the same HP as the J32A3, but with more torque from the higher displacement. You can also either change the bellhousing section of the ATC6 transmission or go with a newer transmission and go with something like a J35A8. But this costs a whole lot more than either the J32A3 or J35A6.

      It depends on the J35. If, for instance, you use a J35A6 from a 2005-2006 Odyssey, the enginewill bolt straight to your ATC6 transmission. But with other engines (like the J35A8, for instance), you will either need a newer transmission or a bellhousing swap on the ATC6.
