- Join me as I go back in time and across the seas to the Library of Trinity College Dublin with another Museum From Home. I reveal my time as the Heritage Council Conservation Intern at the Library of Trinity College Dublin Conservation Department. Come walk amongst the shelves of the Old Library and see some of the incredible cultural treasures that are part of the collection including the Book of Kells and Early Irish Manuscripts. Also find out what it was like to do a conservation internship at one of the most amazing libraries in the world!

What an absolutely beautiful library. I was wondering how much previous experience you had before applying to the internship? I’m currently enrolled on a BA books and paper conservation course and I’m thinking of applying after graduating
It is a stunning library! I first applied when I was doing my 2 years masters in conservation (I would have completed it by the time the internship started). I was unsuccessful and their feedback was to get more experience. The next year I was working as an exhibitions conservator and applied again. That time I was successful!
Despite that, I recommend applying whether or not you think you have enough experience. You might have more experience than you realise! Also it is a great opportunity for them to know your know and you'll have an application you can update if you apply again!
