I will have my first appointment with an orthopedic next month. At least now I will be more prepared when he describes what needs to happen or not. Thank you

I had a partial knee done almost 20 yrs ago. . Now I have worn it out. My ortho says I now need a full replacement done. I have heard all kinds of horror stories about revision. Please reasure me.

Would a partial knee replacement be considered if two of the compartments were arthritic (for me, it’s the medial and patella), but the other compartment (lateral) is in perfect condition according to my surgeon? I have seen a few photos of dual partials, and even one where the medial and patella parts were a single piece instead of two. I believe my knee wore out because of a meniscus tear when I was young. I’m 58 now.

I know you said that rheumatoid arthritis generally get a total knee. I have psoriatic arthritis and would like to know if a total knee replacement is possible .

Great post! I’m a very active 59 year old. I’ve had two previous medial arthroscopies. I still cycle like I’m 20. I still skate like I’m 20. But when it comes to running, I’m a 90 year old with terrible knees. I’m terrified of getting a TKR. I don’t want to being able to participate in some semblance of what it was like to play sports. Would I benefit from a partial over a total replacement? Are their surgeons in Toronto that do PKR?
