This happened to me when I tried to modify an application (change it's logo). I didn't downloaded the APK from internet, nor was the application's support ended for my device. My problem is neither in case 1, nor in case 2.

It says invalid value type? When I open the app from apk editor.
It didn't work.... When I was done saving it I clicked install and guess what it said problem praising the package
2022 it still works thanks.....new subcriber....for those who know about Acmarket or those who had to switch there sd card and most of there apps where on the Sd card....got to firefox or whatever web browser you use and download it from there so the app can show up....then follow his instructions.....

In my phone there is no option like common edit there are 3 options CANCEL, DECODE PARTIAL FILES OR DECODE ALL FILES. What should I do .

When i choose the apk that i wanted to open in the Apk Parser app. It directly opens and there's many text to it. It's not like from your tutorial where you would choose "common edit" 1:50
There's no Minimum SDK Version in there too. I'm stuck from this step

I tried doing this to play car parking multiplayer on my samsung a8, since car parking multiplayer isnt supported on older devices but mine is faster (2gb ram) but after i edited sdk and saved but loading is longer than i expected. Does the loading time depends on file size? Apk size of car parking multiplayer is 422mb
