- This is a how to video on taking the 2nd and 3rd row seats out of a 2010 Toyota Highlander. We bought this Highlander with the plan to create a camping setup in the back, so this was the first step in that process. Be sure to subscribe to see videos coming soon on the build.

Thank you mom and dad please never delete this or else I’ll forget how to put it back 😂😂
I had a 2000 Ford Windstar once, I could whip the rear and mid seats out in about 2 minutes. Well designed. This basically has answered my question - the Highlander seats AREN'T removable ...
Thank you for showing the second row cable disconnect. I fought (and fought and was completely stumped) with mine and now have an idea of how to approach it as I finish my build out.
Good explanation for how to remove that cable underneath. Only took me a couple minutes after hearing you explain and show it.
This will be super helpful, thanks for uploading.
You are very welcome, thanks for checking out the video!
@ 8:00 That spring-loaded cover that rotates up when you lift the third row is removeable. With the 3rd row flat, lift up that hinged cover, and pull at the base from the ends first and the fasteners (which are attached to the narrow hinge panel) simply let go from their slots in the black plastic below. THAT helps you remove the two side pockets.
I'd like this video more if the dimensions were stated after taking out everything, so I would know if it was worth it.
After taking everything out what is the floor to ceiling height?
Amazing!!! I COULD NOT figure out the seat cable disconnect. What a puzzle. Thank you!🙌
Seriously me too! I’m nervous if I have to put them back in hahaha You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Did you ever put them back together? I’m now trying to reinstall the seats and can’t pull the ball of the cable out far enough to reattach it
Oh wow, I've had a 2012 highlander for almost 5 years and I never knew the cargo cover fit under the rear cover!!
Haha yeah they definitely didn't make it easy to find, glad this helped you find it!
Oooh I need to do this for car camping!! Tired of hunching over in the back.
what do people do with the seats when they pull them out? throw them out? sell them? store them to install when selling? I want to move around, so I don't want to store them. I am not sure if there is a market for selling them. Would like to hear what others have done.
For the 2012 there are 9 14mm bolts 3 on each side two in the middle and one under the plastic cover in the front between the seats. You have to pry the cover up.
Did those wires have anything to do with the airbag system? They do in my Santa Fe.
hell yeah !!!
How are you ever going to put that back together when it comes time to sell it?
How much weight do you think was removed in total?
Is it really worth removing all seats if the bed still gonna have to be high with the middle frame ?
Hi, could you give me the dimensions, tailgate, wheel well width, length behind 1st row, please
I need to know how to get them stupid cup holders out of the sides where the 3rd row is cuz it’s limiting my space !
Could I buy that 3rd row seat?
I was wondering if I should trade in my kia optima for a highlander preferably this gen ...I was wondering about the ups and downs of owning long term.
That's a great question! Unfortunately we have only had this highlander for a short time now. From what we have heard about it, it seems to be great long term generally speaking. I would think that could be a good trade though!
320k miles on my 2008 Highlander. Keep it well maintained and it will run circles around a Kia.
How much did you pay for your '10 Highlander? They are great cars that last forever.
I am considering a highlander for my next vehicle, to make into a camper conversion, so I am here for reasons. But first is how does Stacy/Stacey/Stacie/Staci spell her name? It is traditional to ask that when meeting a fellow S. (I am Stac(i) )
Did you guys finish??
Luckily we were able to finish getting the seats out fine. We are currently in the process of creating a bed platform to fit the back of the highlander. We should be done soon with a video to follow! :)
thanks I had a client for my detail company whose child puked under the seat. Had to up charge 300$ for seat removal puke detail. To take the seat out
Oh man that doesn’t sound like fun haha. Yeah they were a little bit harder to get out that I had thought they would be.
@@LucasMoore I left the wire attached it was giving me hell and it was close to 100 degrees. Had the seat vertical and cleaned under it was fine! Thanks guys !
Ииии? Смысл?
Good grief ! That’s a pain in the arse
Just came back to this video to let you know I clicked away less than 20 seconds in the video because of the silly intro. Just get to the info in the title I don’t click on a video to see your personality. Hopefully this feedback will help your watch time stats
You lost me at the intro 🙄
Aw shucks, sorry man hopefully it'll be better next time. Appreciate you taking the time to give some feedback!
