Thank you. Thats why we do what we do. That buzz. Every fish always feels like the first 1 ever to me and if i ever lose that then its time to give it up. Cheers pal👍
just exactly where I told him he would get a fish,my fav flat and he did it,I am over the moon for him,now he might calm down ,it was a lovely wee fish.
Ye were bang on the money sir. Ye cant buy experience my old mucker. Cracking bit of water it is. Cant wait to get the season ticket for that. Lets hope we get more water for another crack it before the season ends. As far as the calmin down goes, i cant help it🤣
By road yes. By river miles, ye can treble that. Plus the salmon need the water to be able to get up that far. If theres no rain and water on the river they cant get up there
@@paulblackwildfishing8686 Only (relative term) 40 miles long in total It is very much a spate river but if there's water then it should be fine. The Lugar (tributary of the Ayr) with catchment in the same area is tougher for the fish. The upper reaches in particular. That was my local river growing up. There's a particular section you'd think that salmon would have no chance getting up/through it but they did.

Good video Paul . Captivating so it was . You explained the drill well , where to cast and all that anticipation . You played the fish and scooped it handfully , nae need for a net in you game . And then you released all the banter back to your pals watchful eyes . I know they are happy for you for the 12th attempt . Well played on your own catching a whopper . 10 /10 sir
Hiya Paul mate,Paul where does the beats start and end,and any help you can think of to help me fly fish this my first time pal.I’m coming from paisley, thanks for taking the time to help a pensioner bud….. jimmy.
Honestly pal i wouldnt have a clue where the beat boundaries are. When your fishing muirkirk these a pool called the meetings pool where the greenock water and the river ayr join. Theres a foot bridge up above that. I usually start there and ye can fish it all the way down to the swinging bridge. Its a fair stretch and its great fly water. Ye do need a few spates though bwfore the salmon can make it up as far as muirkirk. It fishes great in higher water. Below muirkirk then ye have the sorn water which again is lovely fly water. Fishes brilliany with between 9inches and 1ft on it. Hope this helps pal and tight lines👍
Ye can pal aye. It was the muirkirk stretch. Lovely fly water. Ye can get the day ticket at the garage in muirkirk. The mara is the last day of the season on it. If the water is over 1ft on the gauge its perfect👍
Tell me about it lad. I usually do well with the salmon but just horrible luck this year. 10 times ive been out this season. Hooked 14 fish. Landed 1. Fuckin break your heart lol 5th of nov lad im on horsburgh

By road Muirkirk is only about 25 miles from the sea so relatively easy for fresh fish to get that far up the Ayr
