    Built PSA and recommend 100%. As a company they have been the #1 reason we have the AR15 as a “common use” firearm. The gun grabbers will need to delete several laws to remove them from our country. God Bless PSA, a great American company 🤘🏻

    I want to thank you for posting this video. I am new to the AR platform and picked up a similar kit from PSA. I couldn't tell what needed to be built and what came preassembled and the response I have received online to my questions has been lukewarm but understandable. You cleared up ALOT of my questions and I thank you.

I just followed them and in a couple hours (I wasn't pushing myself, I took a lot of breaks), I got myself an AR-15! Outstanding presentation sir! I enjoyed putting my PA - 15 together and have become proficient at shooting it also. They are soft shooting and very reliable in my book. There is a sort of bonding that happens when you learn so much about these weapons by doing it yourself. Its not for everyone but I have been very impressed with this platform through the years. Watching recent video has also shown this to be an ideal home defense firearm without extreme over penatration issues! Society has really beat this platform up for no good reason. Why is it used by ALL our agencies in building clearing tasks? Seek the truth and the truth will set you free people!

    I know that this is an older video but the fact still remains, PSA rifles are great. I have two very expensive rifles, expensive for me anyway, but I bought a PSA blem upper and a freedom lower, both have Magpul furniture. I switched the Magpul mbus rear sight out with the Midwest industries a2 backup sight. That rifle will shoot 1" groups at 100 yards with irons no problem. I wanted a rifle that I could beat up and not feel bad about it and this one is just that, a working man's rifle. I have shot coyotes with it, ai shot a bobcat trying to get in my chicken coop last weekend at 70 yards. I came up on it and he had already got under the fence, one well placed shot and he went down. I absolutely trust this rifle with my life.

The Colt DOESN'T shoot any better. Mil-spec is just fine. All military rifles in the USA have to be mil-spec. If you spend more on an AR-15 its to make something cool, or better barrel. AR's don't have to be expensive. The expensive ones are expensive because people that build them make them expensive. Its a ego thing. I'd trust my life to ANY of my Palmetto State Armory AR's. Everyone likes to point to the Lucky Gunner article, but it’s important to note that the firing schedule they used basically translates to mag dumps. At a more normal firing cadence, you don’t see the ~50-60% barrel life reduction that they did.

      You are welcome. I have no idea how many rounds people will put through their rifles. This was called AR 15 101. It is to answer questions on what is an AR parts kit, and how cheap someone can get into an AR 15. This is my recommendation for a budget or beginner. And I mentioned in the video. This is not going to be a BCM.

    The upper receiver is the hardest part of the AR-15 to assemble because you need special tools for the barrel nut you need a head spacing gauges to get your head space incorrect and you need a special gauge to make sure your front side is not counted so by them completing the upper for you really saves you time heartache and pain I'm trying to assemble your own upper receiver

    I have been eyeing a lot of the psa kits. I need to go up to my range and shoot some of theirs and figure out what I really want. I’m not sure if I want a full rifle or carbine pistol. I feel like I could still hit a decent range with a short barrel. You have any input on a sbr compared to full 16”? I can shoot a full auto sbr at the range I go to but of course I’m gonna think it’s great just from the excitement of automatic.

    • @2aEdu
      @2aEdu Před 4 lety

      I have good luck with the PSA kits. For the money they are good. There are better out there, but ARs are not my top priority. I have several pistols and carbines. In a pistol or SBR, lets say....8.5 to 10" barrel, I like 300 blk. Since it uses pistol powder in the loading, it performs well in a short barrel. 556 is a short barrel is so, so at best. It all depends on need. Indoors or close quarters or vehicles, braced pistol or SBR. Anywhere else the carbine or rifle wins with ballistics. Unfortunately the answer is both if you have the money......lol And dont forget about 6.5 Grendel (one of my favorite rounds) I have one in a 12 inch pistol, and also a 24" rifle. Cheap 6.5 ammo avail from Wolf.

As far as getting an MBUS rear sight or mbus TYPE sight, I see they're about $55 on amazon right now. Anything or any other brand work just as well? And lastly, for anyone that wants to chime in, I saw this made the cut with robski's 5,000 round torture test and after reading the specs on these parts, seriously, other than the name, is there any reason to spend 3x as much on a Colt CR6920? I bought a ton of steel cased during the pandemic because it was all I could find.. I tried using it at the range and my damn rifle jammed 3 times.. the last time I couldn't remove the case, it was wedged in there pretty hard. I saw a video where a dude suggested using spray lube to prevent the casing from sticking, do you do anything in particular to make it run?
    I should add I have an Anderson Arms upper, my rifle was clean at the time but the it was hot being that I had just fired 30 rounds of 5.56 NATO brass and reloaded with a mag full of Wolf Steel cased .223..

    • @Matteo_
      @Matteo_ Před 3 lety

      I never recommend lubing steel cases. However I recommend that you bore bath the chamber. Which amounts to using some lube, ie oil in the chamber. Oiling cases OTOH is not a good idea as the oil may seep past the case neck or primer pocket and result in a dead or squid type loading. Of course keep in mind if the chamber is tight/out of spec you may need to send it back to the manufacturer. One of the biggest reasons steel case will not run in an AR is an out of spec, ie tight chamber.

      @@Matteo_ I meant spray lube into the firearm chamber/barrel, I wouldn't spray lube on cartridges..
      Also, my rifle runs well with brass .223 and 5.56.. I've had a couple double feeds but that's about it, it's only ever jammed completely with steel case.
      In any case, I bought a spray can of gun oil, I'm going to try it out next time I go to the range, hopefully it helps.

    • @Matteo_
      @Matteo_ Před 3 lety

      @@Sigrafix Okay I just covered it all just in case. I have heard of those recommending that the case be oiled. That said the fact that the rifle runs well on brass is not surprising. Brass seals to the chamber walls better than steel and doesn't allow for as much build up from powder residue. So as a practice prior to running any steel case you way want to run a chamber brush in there to break up and remove any existing residue. Then oil the brush and run it back in. Then every mag or two repeat the process. But end of the day an AR that won't reliably run steel case is one with a chamber tolerance issue. My remedy has been either I get rid of the rifle or I replace the barrel. I just don't have the time for finnicky/picky eating rifles. Which is why I moved over to the AK. 😂

    • @Sigrafix
      @Sigrafix Před 3 lety

      @@Matteo_ After the third jam I left the range and cleaned the rifle.. it wasn't dirty at all.. there was a bit of residue in the barrel, but nothing that I think could cause an issue.. I'm pretty good about cleaning my guns in that regard. Also, the more I look into it, seems to be a common issue with steel cased .223 in ARs so I'm not sure you are correct about it being out of spec. I've never had an issue to this extent but then again I never shot steel cased .223 out of it until 5.56 brass become impossible to find.
      I literally just now finished a lower that I'll be putting a 10.5" BRN 180 in .223 Wylde on, I'm going to try shooting steel through it and we'll see what happens.

      Depending on how many you plan to build......If it is going to be 1 or 2, buy the completed lower and upper. If more than that, you may want to buy a kit. The kits I usually buy come with a completed upper. So you will need less tools. You will need an AR wrench for the receiver extension nut, and some roll pin punches. It isnt very hard to do, but I would get an oops kit, since you can easily lose a spring and or detent your first time. or 2....
