Mines not too Shabby as well Guys
I always follow the story of your journey, happy family. from Djoko - Indonesia
Love the content , but feel for you about all the mechanical issues.
When you get to the big city, consider changing all those clamps with T Bolt clamps. Can be made a lot tighter, and get the socket driver for them too.
Donât sell yourself short as a dad Jackson , youâre providing amazing memories and adventures with your beautiful family . And when S**t hits the fan you seem to always come through at the end ! May you have a few âdad milksâ when your settled at your next stop đ
Thank you!! Dad Milk solves everything
We did a lot of #roundaustraliawithspelio trips with four kids in the #HoldenHJ1975 #ygw109 including a couple of trips to Uluáču, never had the trouble you have had. Great effort coping.. we went from Ningaloo to Alice along the Gunbarrel Highway in #Smoky60Series , many videos here with those tags and #FlickrSpelio . I admire your competence in fixing the truckâŠ
I think that the way you involve the children in life's tasks is excellent parenting. Your eldest daughter is a champion. I'm enjoying the series very much as it brings back memories of my family doing about the same in Southern Africa. Our grown up married children still talk about our life of adventure. Your children will be for ever grateful for their adventurous life. Good on you guys.
Love the time you took explaining the intercooler to your son . Patience you had with him your champion. Iâm 65 years old and brought back memories of my dad when he was alive. Love your videos and watching your family grow .
Back in the day we had 4 kids too and admire and respect everything you do. Our outback trips were in a HJ47 Troopy towing a Treg trailer in the 1980's and 1990's. Your kids will remember those trips for life and be better for the experiences.
We absolutely LOVE and admire the way you guys can be kicked by the mechanical gods, yet still smile and recover from the problem. You are such a beautiful family.
Just remember that we are have those times in life and travel is no different. You are a great family. The years I traveled 92 to 98% of my time, everyone thought that was so neat. But I had those times that things went wrong during a season. You handled it like a Chap! I loved the way you let your son and explained it to him... You're a great family!
Hi guys. You should never feel guilty about anything you do with those beautiful kids. You are some of the best parents I know. What a wonderful beautiful life you lead.đđ
Wow mate. You are the best dad. Your kids will become genius when they grow up.
Happy travels
Oh my goodness that laugh when the camel fell over! Adorable.
The desert country is so beautiful I need to be there again.
Wow you guys have had some dramas over the last few months bad luck doesnât last forever.
Be safe out there.
without the bad in your life the good isn't as sweet don't do it yourself you're a good man keep it up
I did the full lap walk in august. So basically winter, no flies, but rainbows and waterfalls. Beautiful place.
Great video guy
Mr c you are a great dad to your kids dont b so hard on your self
đHow special to go back to where it started that darn truck could not stop laughing with camel safe travels look forward to see you soon
Your kids would be so blessed to have such beautiful parents like yourself. Thatâs one thing I cherish with my parents did the same for use and my siblings traveled around Australia and the world so donât be so hard on yourself. Loving my Sunday morning watching your content so keep it up brings back my memories with my family â€
Hey, really, really, REALLY loved your sharing at around 26-27 minute mark about being a Dad and starting to question things you're doing. I'm a Dad built for adventure, also and we travel remotely around the NW USA and British Columbia. I am a professional, but I have rebuilt engines from scratch, transmissions as well, and used to develop vehicles at General Motors world HQ and Toyota North American HQ. We travelled by boat, by 1987 Vanagon Syncro, by LandCruiser, etc. Now I'm older and I can see the echos of that adventure spirit we instilled in them back then. They're capable of doing things their peers aren't, they're both notably more confident in their attitudes and have the abilities to back it up. They also take setbacks in stride and lean forward to get moving again and those are basic core personality traits you can't start instilling into someone later. It starts with you and your wife and them as young kids. It also opens doors for them in their futures if they choose to step through, that other kids won't have, or even won't see. Switching topics, I'm absolutely amazed at the mechanical setbacks you continue to see. My 80 series LandCruiser simply never breaks no matter what we throw at it. So when I started watching you guys, I thought. "OK, here we go. This would be MY style. Skip all the preliminary smaller vehicles and go right to industrial grade trailers and a commercial grade tow vehicle. They'll be able to go anywhere and they'll be unstoppable." But I'm shocked. Isuzu are world class builders for that medium duty rig you have. Really surprised you are having mechanicals on that setup. Anyhow, keep it up, Dad's all over the globe are rooting for you, and I suspect if they share the DNA you and I have, they'd be saying the same thing. You are absolutely doing the right thing, brother.
Would not surprise me if the weather has caused the flys to be that bad. Have a great trip. Uluru is amazing place.
I havenât seen any comments about the intercooler pipe. So far they are not the correct Clamps they are hose clamps you need intercooler clamps ( NORMA Type
Was scrolling through the comments to say the same thing, The clamps on there are the typical standard clamps used by the manufacturers, but with the tune, their is no way they are going to cut it.
Jackson, when you hit civilisation, source some Normaclamp GBS heavy duty clamps. Only around $5 each and at least you know it wont be an issue in the future
I agree T bolt style clamps have much better clamping. I was rather surprised to see cheap screw clamps on the intercooler hoses.
thanks chris. we changed all the pipe clamps as soon as we hit civilisation. not only where they the wrong clamps. most where over tightened and stripped.
â@@thecartwrightsI use ones that tighten with an ordinary 7mm hex socket
Hi from New Zealand. Yes you have had a frustrating time lately and Jackson has to be a back yard mechanic. As you drive your Isuzu truck with your caravan, I earlier this year drove a 2015 Isuzu Giga truck carting apple bins around Hastings and the truck lost all the gears in a AMT gearbox. I had to direct traffic on a busy intersection for half an hour till the mechanic came. I found out later that the clutch had blown up, so I know your frustrations. You do a great job of the editing of your shows, Keep it up. Thanks Jono P.
Kata Juta is better. I used to live in Wingellina along the GunBarrel Hwy quite close to Docker River. You do know that Camels can die when they run like that. Warburton's road house has a huge fence and guard dogs patrolling. The locals will steal anything you have. Don't stop for them if they look stranded, they will rob you.
The camel, the boys laughing - priceless
Mate donât let the 1% of life get you down. I feel you and I think we have all been there. But look at it this way. That âproblemâ gave you a great opportunity to teach your future trip maintenance manager what can happen and how to fix it. All in all a good job as a Dad. Your kids are living the free life as we did as kids. Learn by doing and enjoying what was given to us for free.
You are a great dad! I love the way you bring your son along and let him help you. One day he will be just as good as you fixing the vehicle. I love your channel.
Hey guys, things always happen in threes unfortunately.. but now it's full steam ahead for you guys. Enjoy Ningaloo, very special place â€
How to make a bullet proof platform unreliable = modify it with âimprovementsâ
Great episodes guys. Thanks for sharing.
Jackson, know that dad moment. Dad milk for you champ.
We love how you guys never give up đŻđŠđș
You are all having the adventure of a life time. The life is always full of dumps.
Nature's Botanical cream. Cedarwood and Rosemary for the flies. I used it while working in the Pilbara.
We loved the GCR! What beautiful country - so much variety. Quite the adventure! Hope you had time to take it inâŠ. Ok, having browsed through the comments- no one else mentioned the streaky bacon. Did your kids eat it raw? That may not be a good idea. Maybe just check on that. đđ
Was lucky to climb it 48 years ago awsome place
RE: INTERCOOLER PIPE AND HOSE CLAMP...DONT USE A SCREWDRIVER TO TIGHTEN IT...LOOK CLOSELY... IT HAS A 8MM HEAD, USE THE 8MM SOCKET/RATCHET SO AS TO GET IT TIGHTENED UP TO PROPER TORQUE SETTING..YOU WONT GET IT TIGHT ENOUGH USING JUST THE SCREWDRIVER..IT WILL KEEP BLOWING OFF...USE THE 8MM..
CHEERS đ»
The chat at 25min mark, man. i feel ya pain we got stuck out there to when the tyre sheard of the camper trailer axle which also blew the uni joints on car. We had to camp in car overnight on side of road lets just say tĄe road out of Uluru is very cold and quiet at night lol an with a 5yr old. We got it fixed and continued and made the best memories ever.
Worked at Yulara when built as a Refrigeration mechanic for Sheraton hotel. Climbed rock twice. Was at the ceremony when given back to elders. The flies were absolutely putrid then, so after all these years it seems they are still putrid. Enjoy your trip guys and congrats on the new addition to family.
Really feeling for you guys what a bad patch of luck! On the bright side surely things can only get better!
Oh guys, it's testing you but as I've said before, you all are amazing at getting through these things.
I was told by G Turbo in Perth, to change my flexible corner intercooler pipes to hard pipes and make the straights flexible instead, might help you also.. hope to see you all over here after you head north from Nigaloo
Muito mesmo pessoal! Deus abençoe vcs grandemente đđœđ§đ·đ€ đđœđđœ
What an absolutely fabulous episode of your travels. It is great you show the, 'ups & downs' of your travels and i applaude your great family attitude. If as you suggested you get some negative comments about the kids riding their bikes with no helmets or shoes just ignore them. For many years there were no helmets and shoes were optional , I never wore one, nor did any of the kids of my era. All I'm seeing is great parenting. I just wish i was out there doing what you guys are doing....maybe in the not too distant future. All the best from BnB
Looking out the lounge window beyond the balcony up on a hill in a small coastal town in Devon. I look out to the horizon on my left to the Sea, below is the town sprawling across the valley below and up the other side and to my left is a lattice work of fields with crops, cows, lama's and sheep, horses and donkeys. I can see over 40 miles out to sea and the horizon and miles of forest and farmland. I would say that most probably is better than a big red stone in a desert like environment in my opinion. Each view has its beauty in the eye of the beholder I would have thought.
Much enjoyed
Great content. Everyone enjoying their time despite vehicle issues. Love the snippets of Buzz Lightyear.
Awesome guys â€
Youâre not a bad dad man, I wish I could give my kids the experiences your both giving yoursâ€
Also them hose clamps get a 1/4 ratchet set and a 7mm will go straight on đ
Hello Cartwright family what an awesome episode things happen for a reason your a great Dad, given your family the best life full of adventures the boys laughter when the camel fell over was priceless đ you for sharing your life with us all â€
Thank you for sharing your travel with us! You have made me think about how risk Adverse I have become! Wonderful experiences always doing the best you can! WonderfulâŠ.
Phew, that was a rollercoaster!!! Here's hoping for smooth travels for your tribe!!!
Love your attitude, you take the good with bad. I think you guy's are amazing â€â€
As always a brilliant episode â€
Always love tuning in to the reality of your beautiful lifestyle being on the road full time.
Thankyou for sharing just love how real you are behind the camera.
Enjoy WA and who knows we may even bump into you guys somewhere again.
The mechanic didnt do his job right , the intercooler hose shouldnt have come off and the fuel hose should have been correctly installed , safe journey
Some mechanics just shouldn't be mechanics! My son is a top mechanic and he is always fixing other mechanics screw ups!
Canât remember when last I saw a fly.
Boost hoses coming off is pretty typical in the NPS, thatâs why aftermarket solutions exist on the market. And definitely shouldnât be using worm drive clamps, you want T clamps which you can get from any truck parts store, you can even get them from Bunnings
Mate you & Your Family are so blessed to be able to live your live the way you are. So chin up mate life go one thereâs always tomorrow. I Love your life adventures đ
Awesome episode guys, you just keep improving the way you video and share. Keep it up and hopefully the truck can get some reliability back.
The views from our lounge are of you guys on the TV. Extremely jealous and keen to get back on the road again soon. đ
Happy birthday Bobby!! đ is he ok? Keep warm guys x
When I tighten up hoses, I use a small socket or spanner to do it up. You get a lot more tension. Keep the good content going
However when using a spanner or socket you need to watch that you donât overtighten the clamp and cut through the hose. But suggest you use the correct clamps as other guys have mentioned.
Love your channel, thanks for sharing the great journey. đ
Much love to you guys đđżđŠđđżđŠ
I hope your run of mechanical woes is over!
I also have an NPS and an Isuzu mechanic told me that the passengers side intercooler pipe always blows off first because it is a a larger diameter than the drivers side pipe, it commonly blows off down as the intercooler itself. He told me to make sure it was really clean using brake cleaner or some other solvent and to do the clamps up with a spanner as the screwdriver will not get them tight enough to prevent them blowing off.
Hi guys, great job as always. Try not to beat yourself up Jackson you cannot foresee all these problems and you are both doing a great job with your family
Iâve been to the rock twice now, when Iâve visited Australia from Scotland đŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó ż . Youâre right itâs just an amazing place. I have friends who live in Australia and are Australian who have never been there.
Millions of aussies havenât been thereâŠ.i feel its lost a bit of its charm with all the new rues (yes ive been late 80s)
For many of your clamps and 8mm socket set or spanner will also work. Well done for getting it fixed and getting back on the road.
I Love You Guys Beautiful Family and Jackson your a Great Dad Canât wait until next episode â€ïž
You do have one of the best set up as in truck and trailer
Truck has done amazing work in its life, towing large heavy vans at speed eventually causes things to wear.
The distance's and time frames is amazing stress to both driver and equipment. Think both doing extremely well.
Agreed Denis. Thank you for watching. Appreciate your comment
The truck is Rubbish , How could you feel confident just driving that thing anywhere ,
Your journey with Uluru's blown transmission is like a plot twist in a special extended episode-unexpected yet strangely thrilling! From breakdowns to breakthroughs, you've turned mishaps into memorable adventures. Back where it all began, your resilience shines through like a comedy of errors turned epic saga. And I'm Floating Village Life, laughing along with your wild ride!
Grab yourself some T-bolt clamps for the intercooler pipes, then spray the inside of the hose ends with copper gasket spray (hairspray also works) then fit and clamp, give a little bit of time for the spray to set. Common issue with the Isuzu.
Everytime I have been to the Rock the flies have been terrible, loved this episode hope you have No more problems with the truck. Stay safe getting the fuel sounds bad there.
Un grande abbraccio a tutti voi dallâ Italia đźđč allâ Australia đŠđș
That intercooler hose issue is a known fault from Isuzu they have updated parts to fix it and itâs covered under there warranty
You can get aftermarket pipes that are more secure, itâs a common problem after youâve done a tune but assuming youâve got a new engine you maybe havnt done tune yet.
â€â€â€
Streaky Bacon. I never heard it, yet I saw our flag on the package for you to know that it would take me about 6-7 days to cross Canada. I used to be a long-haul trucker. I noticed there wasn't any Police Radar
Hi guys hope your trip gets better
Awesome as per the usual! Nice editing as well, even at 51 minsâŠI couldnât wait for the next scene to comeâŠgood work to the production crewâŠđ⊠But srslyâŠnice jobâŠI look forward to these vids!đđŒđđ»
Just a quick tip, a small socket, like a 7 or there abouts, on a socket wrench works heaps better than a screwdriver when doing hose clamps.
â€â€â€â€â€â€
Would be epic to have a video talking through your lives before hitting the road, what made you wanna do it and what the future holds!
I am in Canmore Alberta Canada on holiday and there is some really big rocks that most people call mountains. Love your videos
Hi all
I have to say the baby is beautiful đ
And have to say I got my son a lightning McQueen truck when he was a 3-4 years old and he still has it đâïžđźđȘ
Well done for rolling with it. I canât believe the truck has been so unreliable. I thought Isuzu was bullet proof. Suppose no car/truck is. Safe travels and canât wait to see your next ep. X
Carry a mini 1/4 in socket set with a 8 mm socket. Best for tightening hose clamps up.
Have a safe trip to your destination from Perth
Que susto me dio el sonido de la caja. đźđźđź Me alegra verlos en la aventura de nuevo. đđđ
Can't believe the luck you guys have had, hats off to you guys you deal with the stress so well. I look forward every week to catch up with you guys and see what you've been up to. I watch a Lot of CZcams but what sets you guys aside from everyone else is your such a lovely family. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
A good thing might be to go over most of the clamps, after a repair to locate any missed nuts not torqued of hose clamps resettling??
Good job
Love your videos guys, we also had our intercooler pipe blow off after a tune, changed the clamps and hasnât happened again, the GCR is a wild road, corrugated to the shithouse, our truck went awesome, but our van done a few shocks !
Love your videos lovely family Elaine from Albury
Hey guys. That alloy intercooler pipe that goes between the engine and the intercooler that blew off. Looks like it could be missing a bolt . It should maybe have two holding it to the chassis . Not one. If it blows off again it's cause that pipe needs to be ridged. I'd look at replacing that intercooler pipe and get a new factory clamp too. As it looks abit swollen from the oil ..only because of the kms you do and because your so far out.
A good video as always, never a good feeling when break down happens, just a tip for you a 8mm socket will tighten the clamps,if your got a small socket set or ring spanned, once again thanks for the video.
Flies,we were in Kalbarri a few months back & never seen anything like it we ended up getting fly nets for our heads đđ thanks for the video guy's đđ»
We had an intercooler pipe blow off towing our van on a quick weekend get away and for some reason I didnât have my tools with me. We were in hilly country in SE NSW and all I had was butter knife. Kept blowing off and ended up on a tow truck homeâŠ..itâs all about the adventure and the stories you can share.
It seems like the whole time when I was young. The butter knife was the tool to use!
You guys just keep getting knocked down and just get back up again and brush yourselves off.. The memories you are creating are priceless.. Do you mind sharing what type of mount you use for your tablet in the truck?
bad luck with the car again but in the end you managed to continue the journey, good job again, greetings from Sweden
You need Mikalor Super clamps in place of those wretched worm drive clamps. I had similar issues with my truck, the silicon hoses that came with the upgraded intercooler. The number of times I had to fix it by the side of the road till I changed the clamps. Grrrrrrr. Hope you solved it long term.
Sorry can't agree with you on this one, the Olgas are far better. We were there with our 2 children (when you could climb it) many decades ago & it was great to see it but we got excited with the Olgas & loved walking around them.
Ayers rock is definitely on my check this out list.
I look forward to each adventure you guys are taking us on. Great stuff đ. But do yourselves a favour and get some fly face nets!!!
Oooh boy. Transmission issue, is a big one.:( Maybe its about time to change the truck. Stay safe guys...
If they used the original turbo, it could be going into turbo overboost. Our Isuzu had the same issue, well known turbo faults.
Keep up the great work guys â€
You are very good at beating yourself up Jackson, it's not all your fault. From what I see you are a jolly good husband and father. You have a lovely family and you will probably find when they are all grown up, that they have a hamper full of stories about the wonderful childhood their parents gave them. Looks like youneed a new truck. I hope it all works out a d you get to W.A. on time. Good luck.
OMG. Hang in guys. You will be soon swimming on the reef.
