  • 826 Law Street is a beautifully remodelled 2+1 bedroom stone and brick bungalow within Oshawa’s Centennial neighbourhood, represented by Sonia Sampson, Broker at Royal LePage Connect Realty.
A double wide driveway provides four outdoor parking spaces in addition to the single car garage, and the cub appeal is enhanced with a mature shade tree, landscaped garden beds, and a covered front porch with a flagstone floor as well as a wrought iron rail.
Ceramic tiles in the entrance foyer continue to flow through to the kitchen and the bedroom hallway, and the foyer immediately opens into an elegantly finished living room. Natural light streams through an oversized picture window, and the dark hardwood floors, crown moldings, and pot lighting are carried over into the adjacent dining area. The stone fireplace can be easily converted to either wood burning or gas - and the dining room, which overlooks the backyard, is also brightened with natural light through its own oversized window, as well as a contemporary light fixture.
Well-suited for entertaining, the open flow continues into the beautifully updated custom kitchen. This work space also showcases crown moldings and pot lighting, as well as a subway tile back splash - and the crisp clean lines of the cabinetry are strikingly complemented with dark granite countertops. The kitchen has a stainless steel under mount sink, dishwasher and microwave range hood, and is complete with a fridge with bottom mount freezer, dual oven with smooth cooktop, as well as a separate pantry with built-in sliding organizers.
The front foyer has the convenience of a double coat closet, as well as built-in shoe storage, while a linen closet is found off the bedroom hallway. Both bedrooms feature crown moldings, laminate floors, and California shutters - with the second bedroom also featuring a beadboard finish. The 3-pc main washroom has porcelain floors with a hardwood-style finish, and features a hand crafted live edge vanity counter and towel bar shelf, subway tiles, as well as a glass walk-in shower. A large double closet is featured in the master bedroom, which has the exquisite touch of a contemporary chandelier.
Off the kitchen are steps leading down to the backyard walk-out, as well as to the staircase to the lower level. An ideal in-law suite, or as a stunning addition of living space to the home, this level has laminate floors and pot lighting in almost every room, and showcases incredible family and utility spaces. A beautifully tiled 4-pc washroom is complete with heated floors, a large linen closet, bath and shower area, updated toilet, and a vanity with under mount basin. Two windows allow plenty of natural light into this home’s third bedroom, which comes with a large double closet. A sitting area has the addition of built-in storage cabinets - and the spacious laundry room features additional cabinetry storage, a large work counter, front load washer and dryer, updated sink, as well as a ceramic-tiled floor.
This level also includes a cold room with an insulated steel door and under-the-staircase storage - both found just off the open recreation and family area - and there is also a private home office space with access to an additional storage room. This home also features newer doors, windows, and roof; upgraded baseboards and light fixtures; 200 amp service, with a 60 amp sub-panel exclusive to the garage; as well as a high efficiency furnace and air conditioning.
With its premium lot size of 70’, this home’s large backyard has cedar hedges for privacy, a majestic shade tree, cultured gardens, as well as a garden shed - and its interlocking patio leads to a stone and concrete solarium, which is also accessible from the garage.
This gorgeous home is within walking distance to Sunset Heights Public School, public transit, and Oshawa Creek; is close to local shopping plazas, the Five Points Mall, and places of worship; and is just a short drive to Durham College, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, as well as for access to Hwys 401 and the 407.
For a private viewing of this fine home, or for further information about Oshawa and its wonderful neighbourhoods, contact Sonia Sampson at (905) 427-6522 or email realestate@soniasampson.com

I am constantly surprised at the huge, rather lavish basements in these Canadian homes. I guess because basements are so foreign here in Houston. I like this home. Nice updates.

This is my favourite house from the channel. Just the right size. One floor only. Spacious. Practical. Functional. Ahh

Love this house! I would take my master bedroom to the basement just because the basement bathroom is better than the main floor bathroom.

Yes, but the basement bathromm neither has bidet. Then, how would you clean your ass easily and quickly.

Why all the houses over there have a basement floor?
Is it because of the cold climate over there?
    Or is cost effective?

Almost all houses in Canada have basements. The reason for this is that the footings and foundations need to be placed below the frost level.
