Just replaced ATF today. It actually needs almost 5 liters of ATF. If my measurement are correct, I poured 4.7 liters. At 4 liters the fluid level will be somewhere at the tip of the dipstick during cold, raises to 1/4 of cold level after the transmission hits hot temperature. After driving around for a year with low ATF level, I can say that there was no big problem other than rough downshift during a stop. Although I think that probably was caused by my 3 years old ATF.
To change the transmisson oil filter you need to remove the gearbox, job for serious mechanic----- type (Tukar auto filter BLM, Waja, Gen 2, Persona (Campro) )

bro, as we know, auto filter for this car is inside the gearbox, and to change that, i'll cost a lot, so how u think, is it ok if we just change the atf and keep using the same auto filter.? i have been using my persona since 2008, and for that long time i haven't change the filter, but i really take a good care for my atf, about 10k-13k km i'll change my atf
you don't need to change the transmission filter. the automatic fluid is not the same as the engine fluid - transmission fluid does not involved in the process of combustion, so there will be no carbon or gunk build up. the filter is there to stop any harmful foreign substance that might found its way into the sealed transmission, which is highly unlikely. and if you do have a transmission problem caused by irregular maintenance, simply changing the filter won't solve anything.
@@CTBLiew 4L Mitsubishi about RM65. Proton SP3 is RM15-RM25 a bottle, but I don't really know if the RM15 is original. Shopee is a crazy place lol. But then again, risking buying non original ATF that you only change once every 20,000km just to save a few bucks is kinda silly.
Fully draining all will be roughly 8l. That’s equal to 8bottles of fluid. That’s going to cost a lot. Alternatively, drain 4litres and change once every 20,000km.
No leakage so didn’t change the oil sump nut washer. Maybe you can try buy from a physical shop or online. It uses 24mm socket to open the nut with magnetic tip. Remember to clean the magnet. It cost a few ringgit if buy straight from Proton SC.

Yes indeed. Change the fluid once it reached 20000km.

Yes you are right! You may check if you want to change it while changing the engine mounting.

Depends on brand of engine oil used. Most engine oil is limited to 8000km.
