That and never get in car or meet someone in a private place that you truly don't know! And no one truly knows someone they met online. As we have heard time and time again, people go to great lengths to create a fake persona online. Hell I dont recognize some of my own family and friends online!

Besides social networking it was also the defacto site for local/touring independent bands, especially emo and all those genres that had "core" at the end. Bands would shout out their myspace page at shows in bars and clubs. One show I saw a band even made a song out of it. They would scream "myspaaaaaace" in that scream vocal style thay every emocore band used back then. Only 00s scene kids will remember.

Oh damn, that description reminds of when I split up with my ex. We were into everything, not gonna lie. But since we broke up I cleaned up. In fairness I was drinking to mitigate the comedown, and was trying to remain polite to my ex for finance reasons. One day I was home with a girlfriend and he came round unannounced with some beers, just wanted to be friendly and all that. He was like "looking after you ladies" and went into the kitchen to open the beer bottles. Then we were drinking beer and something weird happened. I literally dropped sideways onto the sofa. I could hear everything but couldn't move. I heard my female friend asking how could I be drunk so quickly. Then I heard my ex tell her to leave and he would look after me, but she insisted on staying to look after me. I was paralyzed but could hear everything for about an hour then all was blackout until I woke up, in exactly the same position on the sofa, with my parents around (who my female friend had called) and hearing them say "what a state to get in to" when I knew I only had that one beer from my ex. Scary, when I look back.
I’ve been drugged before I was stuck outside paralyzed on the side of the house in 30 degree weather after attending a party I couldn’t move my body I cried all night finally at seven am neighbor came out heard me yelling for help called an ambulance and they thought I was taking at first (apparently not too uncommon) until they put me on the stretcher I straighten my knees they had to physically push them down for me because I couldn’t when I looked in the mirror later in the day my eyelids were HUGE and puffy like crazy big from crying so much scariest night of my life,, funny thing though was I received a Xmas card from the paramedics and nurses a few months later haha they felt bad after testing my blood and finding a mix of rufenol type drugs in my system
My memory is hazy as to what happened for a few days afterwards. It was actually like the whole memory was wiped and only comes back when I hear a description like this. If I knew back then about being drugged I would've seen a doctor and gotten the police involved. I just assumed I'd had a very bad reaction to the alcohol.
Ahhh, MySpace! I always wondered how my friends (only actual friends and family, so a pretty small number) ALL seemed to be friends with this one guy. Turned out it was TOM. You know, Tom, from MySpace. 😅Oddly enough, he never was on my friends list. I did enjoy using it though, as it really WAS "MY SPACE." I got to customize it with my own background and color combo, put in a music playlist and it even had a blog. It was my first blog. Kind of like having your own website. I don't remember it having a feed though, so very different from Facebook (which took over as MySpace began to die). It had taken some effort to get me ON MySpace and when I finally started to use it a lot, people began to leave. I reluctantly went to Facebook cussing at their lack of customization, not being able to even move elements to where I wanted to.
Does anybody else feel like the creepy old guy in the next to last story where the guy's car breaks down must have done something to the car? There is no way that old guy would just happen to be there when the car broke down, especially when they had never met. It doesn't matter how old the car was. That is suspicious.

In fairness I was drinking to mitigate the comedown, and was trying to remain polite to my ex for finance reasons. One day I was home with a girlfriend and he came round unannounced with some beers, just wanted to be friendly and all that.
He was like "looking after you ladies" and went into the kitchen to open the beer bottles. Then we were drinking beer and something weird happened.
I literally dropped sideways onto the sofa. I could hear everything but couldn't move. I heard my female friend asking how could I be drunk so quickly. Then I heard my ex tell her to leave and he would look after me, but she insisted on staying to look after me.
I was paralyzed but could hear everything for about an hour then all was blackout until I woke up, in exactly the same position on the sofa, with my parents around (who my female friend had called) and hearing them say "what a state to get in to" when I knew I only had that one beer from my ex. Scary, when I look back.

I’ve been drugged before I was stuck outside paralyzed on the side of the house in 30 degree weather after attending a party I couldn’t move my body I cried all night finally at seven am neighbor came out heard me yelling for help called an ambulance and they thought I was taking at first (apparently not too uncommon) until they put me on the stretcher I straighten my knees they had to physically push them down for me because I couldn’t when I looked in the mirror later in the day my eyelids were HUGE and puffy like crazy big from crying so much scariest night of my life,, funny thing though was I received a Xmas card from the paramedics and nurses a few months later haha they felt bad after testing my blood and finding a mix of rufenol type drugs in my system
My memory is hazy as to what happened for a few days afterwards. It was actually like the whole memory was wiped and only comes back when I hear a description like this. If I knew back then about being drugged I would've seen a doctor and gotten the police involved. I just assumed I'd had a very bad reaction to the alcohol.

Ahhh, MySpace! I always wondered how my friends (only actual friends and family, so a pretty small number) ALL seemed to be friends with this one guy. Turned out it was TOM. You know, Tom, from MySpace. 😅Oddly enough, he never was on my friends list.
I did enjoy using it though, as it really WAS "MY SPACE." I got to customize it with my own background and color combo, put in a music playlist and it even had a blog. It was my first blog. Kind of like having your own website. I don't remember it having a feed though, so very different from Facebook (which took over as MySpace began to die). It had taken some effort to get me ON MySpace and when I finally started to use it a lot, people began to leave. I reluctantly went to Facebook cussing at their lack of customization, not being able to even move elements to where I wanted to.

Does anybody else feel like the creepy old guy in the next to last story where the guy's car breaks down must have done something to the car? There is no way that old guy would just happen to be there when the car broke down, especially when they had never met. It doesn't matter how old the car was. That is suspicious.
