One thing is Hebbevu doesn't need any permission(paper work) 👍from RFO to cut, like other timber trees. But at the end of video u said it requires paper work.

When indian government given permission for plantation of sandalwood, soo many commercial farmers came forward and planted trees & now most of the trees grown up and ready for cutting.
Now demand will be remain same but raw material will be more,
price of the raw material will reduce because of lower demand.
So my suggestion, before planning for any long-term projects just do some rough survey, so you will get better clarity on it.
I am also planning for Sandalwood plantation but because of corona virus i am not able to do any personal survey,
But i believe Darvi Group can help you better than me.
International market and Indian market you need to consider for it, Melia was just focused on Indian market and didn’t even plant them properly so farmers are facing the loss, you should have idea about what you are planting and it’s use

There is a point in your explanation. Though I won't agree completely on your calculations, it appears it's not profitable to grow MililaDubia. Question is, what should one grow when he doesn't have much water?
It’s not about loss it’s about problems in softwood tree in dry land,
2nd spacing for timber wood should be more not close,
Here calculation is just to tell farmers how important water is or the value of water compared to a tree,
Though I’m forestry graduate we want more and more tree to be grown but there should be ethical ways to promote it,
Develop a farm in much Orginc way so it should not consume more water,
Now for dry zone. Sandalwood and Mahogony can be taken up,
Or Custard apple, Fig. Dates, Moringa, etc

He is misguiding farmers, let him tell which one is profitable. He may doing profitable business just by misleading public. Don't worry farmers , we have grown hebbevu in 50 acres.half we have sold at 4 years period, remaining waiting to complete 8 -10 years. Pls grow this plant in waste land, which is not used for traditional agriculture. Idea is to make money from the waste. Water is not required as he says. If it rains just 5 months a year is sufficient.extra water is not required. But make water pits next to each plant while planting it. Once again iam telling u friends it is making profit out of waste land.

Thank you so much for the information shared Sir, but there is less of a point in sharing it now, I personally has planted 2400 saplings along the boundaries of my farm in Hassan, of which 1400 saplings were growing good, I was promised 7000 Rs at the time of plantation per tree at a particular price per DBH, I even consultated the forest department and the information provided was almost the same.. Hence considered planting, it has been 9 years niw. And a company from Hunsur is offering a lumpsum amount that would fetch me only 1000 rupees per tree.. Please make sure such videoy would be made earlier to caution us (innocent or stupid farmers). Government being a part of it is unfortunate, none of try to understand the concept of this business, just jumped the gun going by wt a few said to popularise Agroforestry and now suffering. I had too much expectations and not I just don't know what to do..

But maybe, farmers who must have been benefitted by this are the ones who are challenging it. Which according to me, is ok, because, as long as something good happens, I am sure we both must be happy for it. However here the question of those who were dependent on this as a source of fortune and now disappointed. I think, the lack of unification of farmers is the challenge for agriculture being carried out as a business in this country. You don't have to bother about it and continue doing what you do.
