I think a class action law suit would be in order at this point since there are now ample people with OLDer legacy accounts that were terminated, even though their books had been approved by Amazon and in many cases were making Amazon money. They do NOT currently have a FAIR termination policy , nor a FAIR policy to be able to request a review of said termination. There are rules in place on KDP yes, , but when someone that follows the rules is terminated, it becomes a platform where your business is in the constant jeopardy, and in the hands of crack smoking low wage earning, often new hires, who got in an argument with their spouse before leaving their home that day. Very little thought goes into terminating someone's business, at KDP and it is sad. I know many people who worked hard building a business, that paid them, they followed the rules to the letter and they woke up one day to a terminated account and literally ZERO ability to appeal it.
I also lost my account - they said I had my books in the wrong category. I had my journals in diaries and journals and while I understand that I may have misused the category (unknowingly). There are literally thousands of journals under that category to this day. So no lol it was not justified but they do not care - all the best moving forward.
This is exactly what happened to me. They terminated my account on 25 February, 2024. I have written to them thrice but no resolution yet. A member of the content review team named Rishika, wrote me on March 4, 2024, asking for more time for them to look into the issue. Ever since I have not received any information from Amazon kdp.
I have found this very interesting. I got terminated too, yesterday. I appealed and I am waiting for their response. I think the third option is correct. The system is even worse than we think. More than this, I think it is just a matter of time till you get terminated on KDP. Their rules are so vague and their responses so robotical. It seems like they do not really care. One author more, one author less. Surely everyday new people open the accounts and become authors so the other should go away, so the platform stays fresh. Maybe they have quotas. Thank you for this video 👍
I agree with you. Unjustified. My termination was because I re uploaded a poem book I wrote but thought the price was too high so amended it. Seconds later I was terminated. I emailed and explained numerous times as the reason why was so vague. I asked what is it I have violated and all they kept saying was we are sticking to our decision even when i said I'll take it off and never put it up. 😂 Oh well. Amazon are kicking alot of people off. Some guy who works for them said they are purging the system of all lo content books.
Well done! No, I don't think I will ever get mine solved now, unfortunately. I did employ the services of a lawyer who specialises in getting back Amazon accounts but we went through the whole process and even sent a legal letter to their legal team and it still ended in upholding the termination. It sucks but I think, after 7 months of fighting it, there's nothing else I can do.
That's why I forced myself to avoid kdp select so that I can sell my books in other platforms infact, as I am uploading to amazon, I also upload to other platforms all togather because relying on amazon alone will take you to square one.

Interesting and very honest. Thanks.

I’m confused. There are oftentimes books and movies with the same name. Unless you are using a trademarked name, I don’t see what the problem is.
And I submitted for them to remove over 50 copies of my book with similar titles. I was told they do not remove books for titles. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I'm sorry this happened to you
Thanks

After my account was terminated i switched to Barnes and Noble to sell my books. Then i fell into a 6 month depression. 😢
Awwww…I did the same thing. 😢 The good news is that I sold a few on BN! 🎉 Hope you do too! 🙏🏻
