Ahh Baguio City, my favorite place in the Philippines. The smell of pines, cool weather, romantic ambiance, etc..been there in 1988, 1994, and 1996 and all were so memorable. I will go back there when I visit the Philippines this year.
One day, one of my wildest dreams about the country's road infrastructure is that travelling from Bicol to Ilocos in less than 10 hours once all the unified spine network of Luzon's expressways is completed becomes a reality. Travel all across Luzon will be seamless and very convenient.
It would certainly help me, i have paruresis (search it up, kinda embarrasing but im trying to get better) so I got to hold it on the bus and hope there are rest stops with bathrooms that arent busy..sometimes we do hire a driver though and it takes less time
The entire length of California is longer than the Philippines and it only takes 13 hours and 6 mins to travel from the northern border With Ashland, Oregon to the most southern border with Tijuana, Mexico. But the advantage of California is the main road Interstate 5 is almost straight and Ca is not partitioned into many islands. I want to see the eastern coastal backbone of Luzon connected to the islands of the Visayas all the way to Mindanao.

Now I don't have to crave for a road trip from Manila to Baguio through this route (although the actual one is always the best), but this more than made up for the fact that I'm virtually enjoying this road trip with you while I cannot leave home due to the quarantine.
I remember taking a trip to Baguio from Manila with my parents back in 1961. We started from Highway 54 going north to the Welcome Rotonda, then on to the Mac Arthur Highway. There was no Expressway then. We went straight north past the towns in Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, andrest Pangasinan. Then up the old Kennon Road. It took a lot more than 3.5 hours.
Then you must watch those walk-tour in other countries as well. No talking .. no showing the vloggers face, just completely walk-tour for 1 hour or 2 hours :)
I’m in the States now but I was born in the Philippines - San Fernando Pampanga. I’ve been in the States since 2001. MacArthur Highway, North Diversion Expressway, Olongapo Gapan Road was the common way to travel. I was pretty much surprised when I saw this video - a trip from Manila to Baguio. I worked in Manila, studied in Baguio so this places are not new to me and traveled to these places using the old system. I am in awe of the improvement - as far as traveling north is concerned. The roads are comparable to the interstate highways here in the States. I’ve done my share of road trips, often times using the ever reliable cellphone GPS system. It sure is inviting to travel these “new” roads and highways and enjoy the improvements the Philippines has come up to in 2 decades. Keep up the good work
Laking tulong neto when we planned our route to baguio last wednesday (may 5) para di kami maligaw pagdating sa tplex extension, came from tondo and yung eta is almost the same lang, konting tip lang sir, since di pa updated si google maps, i tried using waze sa trip namin nung wed and also yesterday (may 8), mas updated yung route niya since kasama na yung tplex extension. :)

I really appreciated this video.. Every time we visit Philippines, we always travel to Baguio city. I am from Toronto Canada...if you drive from Toronto to Niagara falls, u.s. border its less than 2 hours...Toronto to Montreal is over 3 hours.....Toronto to Quebec city is 6 hours or less, depends on road and traffic conditions. I missed visiting Baguio City. I have been visited Baguio City 4 times now. One was in the late 1990s and three were 2015, 2016 and 2018. I visited the city during the Pope's visit. I often used Kennon Road when going to and from Baguio, and I haven't witnessed Marcos' highway. Feels like to visit the city again while watching.
I have anxiety especially in driving. I always look for videos that show the road condition of places I plan to go so I know what to expect. Your video is a big help. Thank you!

As someone who has a family tradition of visiting Baguio every year since the mid 90s, I still can't believew the travel time has been reduced to 3.5hrs. Back then we spend 7hrs on the road (Laguna to Baguio). Our recent trip last year only took almost 4hrs. Sana they improve the south expressways too, especially going to region 5.

validated, travelled 3.5 hours from Baguio to Manila with 3 stop overs along the way .. Our Manila to Baguio is 4.5 hours however, with 4 stop overs

As someone who has a family tradition of visiting Baguio every year since the mid 90s, I still can't believew the travel time has been reduced to 3.5hrs. Back then we spend 7hrs on the road (Laguna to Baguio). Our recent trip last year only took almost 4hrs.
Sana they improve the south expressways too, especially going to region 5.

Yes! It could take up to 7 hours before without SCTEX and TPLEX. Not to mention the stress from traffic, pedestrians, jeeps, etc. 😃
