Nice collection! That Miramax collection is pretty rare, in the UK it's the only way to get those 4 films on blu ray! They're hoping for an individual release eventually as there are not blu rays for the majority of the Pokemon film franchise, some didn't even get a DVD release!
The Pokémon Company's definition of season 1 is only 52/78 of the full indigo journey. You'd have to track down the indigo league volume 3 DVD if you want all of the original episodes. Also the Sun and Moon blu ray is season 2, season 1 and 3 are dvd only.
Remember J's Blu rays: Whenever I watch the Sun and Moon Ultra Adventures on either DVD and Blu-ray, I rename and redub Lillie's name and lines and rename her Selene, AKA, the female player from Pokémon Sun Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon all for the Nintendo 3DS!
Have you been able to compare both the Blu-Ray and DVD versions of Ultra Adventures? I already have the DVD but trying to decide if it's worth getting the Blu-Ray.
Random but Fun Fact: the original Buena Vista Home Entertainment/Miramax Home Entertainment DVD releases of Pokémon 4Ever, Pokémon Heroes, Jirachi Wishmaker, & Destiny Deoxys had actual special features, but were cropped to 4:3. Future releases of those films by Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, Lionsgate, and now Paramount are in the original Widescreen, but all special features are omitted. Now why they did it? I have no idea. I’m the cheap $3.75 buyer person. Why would I know anything about the corporate world?
Hello, J! It's Michael from Peru again! Welcome to the Pokémon world! I've been watching Pokémon since December 1999 up to this day. It's a passion really! Admittedly, for some periods, during my 20's especially, I thought I had lost some interest but these days I've rediscovered my love for this anime. The first era is such a classic. Keep on enjoying it and I would be thankful if you could watch the original first movie "Mewtwo Strikes Back" but not the 3D remake... And you should watch prior to the movie itself, the 10-minute introduction that was edited out of the original screening in the theaters back in the day. That part is about how Mewtwo was born. And he was telepathically communicating with a prototype of a HUMAN CLONE that was a side-project of the Pokémon cloning one. Then, the whole movie deals with cloning and existentialism. I think the first movie is the most mature thing the Pokémon main anime has ever released. I would love to hear your thoughts about it!
The blu ray set of season 1 isnt complete it only has 52 epsidoes season 1 originally has 81 epsiodes but only 78 us because 4 were banned in japan so usa only got 78 u can get season 1 on dvd which has all 78 epsiodes
I too was never a big fan of the show or the games, but the artwork is amazing. I do play Pokemon Go, though. I have a question for you however, and I hope it doesn't come across as rude in any way, I'm just genuinely curious; why do you collect a lot of blu rays, dvds and vhs tapes generally "meant for kids"? I'm not shaming you in any way, I collect this kind of stuff too lol. Just interested in why, yknow.
That's a good question. It's just what I'm interested in, and I don't have a good reason why. A lot of things I was interested in when I was a kid, I just never grew out of. It changed to more of a collecting thing now, so it is different, but a lot of my interests are the same as when I was young.
@@JsBluRays That's fair! I've actually become more interested in certain things others might deem as childish than I was when I was younger. Had absolutely no interest in Thomas or Sesame Street growing up, but now I think it's pretty cool. But it should be said that it's also more of a collecting thing for me too. I rarely if ever watch a lot of the things I have collected.
I have the first part of the the OG era with the three box sets of Indigo League/Kanto and the Orange Islands set, still need to eventually pick up the three Johto sets to round out the OG series run. Also have the three pack of the first three movies and four film collector's set which runs through the second Advanced Generation film. Not really interested in continuing past Johto in terms of the shows or Destiny Deoxys for the movies. Note that if you want the rest of Indigo/Kanto then you'll need to get the DVD's because the Blu-ray set shown above only goes up to episode 52 hence the Season 1 name, this is so because for the longest time the show aired on TV here in packages consisting of the aforementioned number.
@CJ Russ When the show was originally airing in syndication and on KidsWB they split the episodes (minus the banned ones) up into 52 ep packages a piece, i believe that was done up through the Advanced Generation era though apparently got discontinued at some point after 4Kids lost the dub production license. The BD set i assume is effectively mirroring how 4Kids did their season designations when they were originally dubbing and airing the series. Not my preferred arrangement, but it is how the show ran for quite a few years. Honestly, i much prefer the new opening=new season thing that many longtime fans stand by which has logical merit also. This article explains it all in good detail. dogasu.bulbagarden.net/comparisons/seasons.html
@CJ Russ There's either volume 2 and 3 of the volume sets from 2007/2008 and the "complete" collection release from a few years ago. The latter is missing the beach episode (due to being skipped over during Indigo League's initial run) and the holiday one with Jynx (because of controversy due to her original black design) plus there's also the ones which were banned and not released outside of Japan i.e. Legend of Dratini and most infamously Cyber Soldier Porygon due to the seizure controversy.

I’d rather get the original Buena Vista releases for the bonus features and shorts.

PLEASE DO YOUR WANER BROS DVD AND BLU-RAY COLLECTION 2021 EDITION?!?
Chill.
STOP!

YES I DO! Chill means to calm down
And you can put your collections videos in a playlist called collections
That is a really good idea and I will consider doing that sometime
Isn’t there 80 English episodes in the indiago league? How comes there’s only 52 on the blu ray?
