My favorite Jermaine Jones moment was his banger vs Portugal at Brazil 2014. That goal came at a time of need & is a Legendary feat.
That's still my favorite goal of all time. It's the goal that made me a usmnt fan.
100%
100% was the goal that secured me as a USMNT fan
Also became a fan after that goal. I remember watching the replay on CZcams after countless times
what a shoot
He’s right about being under appreciated. Jones is still on my all time usmnt roster in the midfield.
JJ is one who can never be questioned for his commitment to USMNT, especially being a hustler and pillar in that 2014 WC. His goal vs Portugal was awesome!! I hit my leg on the table so damn hard 😂
He was though! That what makes his story so compelling and saddening! Some actual big wigs inferred he was nothing more than a soldier for hire. He never deserved that!
Jermaine is probably the best CDM we have ever had. Super under appreciated and I remember the vitriol spewed out about him because he wasn’t born in the US. This is still a stain on US soccer in both the fans, media, and some former players (especially an outspoken one).
You can say it. They’re not gonna hunt you down for calling them out
The way American pundits and fans played in Jermaine’s face about his allegiance…..
One of the best to ever put on the shirt tbh
That World Cup goal he scored was astounding
USL-1 isn't a poor place to start. Heck, I'm happy we're getting a USL-1 team up here in Spokane.
Ayyyyeee spokane represent!
JJ dropping truth bombs. 25:40. " Social media creating followers, not leaders." WOW! That lit multiple lightbulbs!!!👀👀. You guys keep it coming. You're the best. 👍👍
He’s a great American 🇺🇸
Jones deserves his flowers. he was such a pillar in the usmnt midfield
I watched him play at Schalke and thought he was a such a good player. When he came onto the national team, i knew the team wasnt in a place to bolster his skillset. one of the things america has always had a problem with, is coaching. tactics. we've always been behind the 8-ball as a country. for us to take the next step as a footballing country, we've gotta prioritize grassroots football and tactics at that level in both players and coaching.
our players are much much better than they were in 2014. i think 2014 jermaine jones still gets in the team but we have all these guys at that level
This is the best show out there. Please never change the format. Obviously the talent is great as well
He was always one of my favorite players, his tenacity.
He’s right - a US born player with his club and USMNT resume would be held in the highest esteem like the other all-time USA greats like Reyna, Donovan, Dempsey, Howard.
🎉❤Omg one of my fav players! That rocket golazo against Portugal in WC is still legendary
Love that he came to the city of Fresno! Been going the soccer games since a kid now we got a legend coaching the team!
As a Schalke fan this guy is severely underrated. Not just for the USMNT, but in the world as a whole.🙌🙌🙌
You have a city crest up. How are you a FC Schalke 04 supporter?
@@xaymacaxaymaca I used to watch Schalke and the bundesliga every week. Not so much anymore because I can't watch their games. Huntelar, uchida, Papadopoulos, howdes, farfan, Fuchs, Jones, draxler, etc when times were better than what they are in now.
@@Ingenuity009 You're a glory hunter, fair weather fan then? Sounds like a city fan to me.
@xaymacaxaymaca I don't think you understand how TV works 🤣 If I said I supported Bayern Munich then that's fair weather. You sound like a salty bitter boy your teams lose alot.🤣
@Ingenuity009 I don't support my club based upon whether they win or not. I respect supporters of clubs like Derby County, Ipswich Town, Sunderland AFC or Sheffield Wednesday because their clubs "lose a lot" but their support is constant and they have won several titles in the past organcially.
Jermaine Jones absolutely one of my favorite midfielders to suit up for the USMNT! An absolute engine, just non stop work, always left it out on the pitch.
Kickin It should have USA Legends more often
My fav USMNT player, period. Dot. This was fantastic.....thank you!
Man - I loved the intensity and edge Jermaine Jones played with. He and Dempsey had more edge then the next 20 field players total!!!
I LOVE this whole thing yall got going on. The personality and the personalities coming on are top drawer each time and I'm loving it! Keep it coming!
Great Interview! Always liked Jermaine when he was playing here in Germany. I rewatched is screamer against Portugal a lot of times. Absolute machine!
The laughing from Dempsey over the Bruce Arena comment😂😂😂
Kickin it is honestly one of the best football/soccer shows around. Keep it up guys and more power to ya'll!
Super dope. Love from Fresno and go Fuego!
Love kickin it!
Great episode
Appreciate his genuineness and open book personality
My all time favorite USMNT. Love JJ!!! We need more dudes like him, ferocious.
More episodes please.
Always loved this guy!
One of my favorite USMNT players of all time. LD could never say Jones lacked passion for the crest
The goal va Portugal gave me chills. What a legend
Nothing but love for Jermaine Jones.
One of my fav USMNT players.
Also gave me of one my favorite all time plays, golazo vs Portugal.
He was very under rated. Never hear him mentioned, but he really worked and tied the team together.
Jones goal against Portugal is my fav USMNT goal and moment!
I love the kicking it episodes!!! NEED MORE!!!!!
I think it would be amazing to Jurgen Klinsmann or Bob Bradly or Bruce... a former USMNT coach to talk.
Loved watching Jermaine as a kid. Who had a bigger impact on the NT in such a short time?
Best USMNT player of the last few years. One of the first ones to score in Champions and WC. I wish he had spoken about being a black German-American. I still think that some of the backlash was racially based. I wish we had a JJJ in the current team. We need someone to step on some toes.
I've been a huge Jermaine Jones fan and will always be a huge Jermaine Jones fan the rest of my life.
So happy you got him on! Maybe the most underrated player in the past decade. Hope he kills it as manager
I'm from Fresno we were all like 😮wtf he's coming to coach us? We had a great run in usl under the name Fresno foxes did good had a good project the league forced us out and into the lower league it hurt us a lot. We have a great community here in Fresno definitely one that will help rebuild and launch Jermaine life in soccer and in coaching vamos dale fuego
Always loved JJ....one of my favorite USMNT players.
I was pumped when Jermaine chose the USA. He’s one of my all time fav Revs players. Great to see he’s doing well!
My absolute favorite USA goal ever was Jermaine Jones against Portugal.
Awesome interview and Jermaine was a great player. USA fans were begging dual nationals like Balogun to join the team but then hate on people like Jermaine for no reason.
Beast, hope he can have a positive influence on showing our soccer youth how to bring it each and every game.
I really don't think Landon was referring to Jones when he made those comments. Landon wasn't referring to all dual nationals, which would be silly considering how many of his friends were Mexican-Americans. I'm a little disappointed Kate re-framed his statement in the way she did to make it sound like he was referring to Jones. It was clear to me, from watching that episode that he was referring to some specific players who wanted to jump on the USMNT train, just to be able to go to a World Cup. I think we all know who they were...because we never saw them after the World Cup...
Shame. Typical Kate not doing the required research.
Jermaine Jones is an AMERICAN LEGEND!
Jermaine Jones is one of my favorite players of all time! I'll take him on my all time USMNT lineup.
I think he was one of the best DM we had in that world cup in our national team. Not many players can boast of having played in such high levels like he did in Germany and England. I wish he would ve had played for Man United not Rovers though lol
I hope his coaching career is super successful.
Just go ahead and smash that like button if you remember that tackle against Neymar in the Brazil friendly… I was so happy to be watching JJ’s Tom Petty (No, I won’t back down) moment … 😂
Baller! 🫡
I loved him at Blackburn and really wished we had him on a permanent
I could be wrong but I don't think Landon was referencing JJ in his interview about those players looking just to make it to a World Cup and no national pride
loved in germany 🗣♥️♥️♥️
Interesting guy.
No one will ever forget his world cup goal... We dont have many screamers as US fans in the WC, but that was memorable.
I’m a Mexico fan but this dude was always an issue when he played us he was a hell of a player
I will never again take anything for “cranted” ever
JJ was a tank always went in hard there’s no mid like him in the current national team
When are you going to have Eddie Johnson on the show?? Don’t be scared lol
Fifa 14 beast
Love these, hate Paramount Plus.
As much I respect and how wonderful presenter Kate is - she should let JJ (guest) finish his sentence before interrupt thus stir the conversation away from his original answers
When people talk about usmnt all time goals. Jermaines goal vs Portugal a top 3
I miss jones he had so much fire he brought to the field.
When Landon Donovan was on this show talking about the players picked over him for the WC that didn’t give af J.Jones came to mind as who he was maybe talking about but sure doesn’t seem like it after listening here. Maybe Julian Green?
He (and Abby Wambach &. Bruce Arena) were talking about THE foreign players ( Jermaine certainly wasn’t exempt) It wasn’t until after JJ WC performance that the narrative changed towards players like Timmy Chandler, Fabian Johnson, Mixx Diskerud among the names etc.
I think more forward playing players like Green, Diskerud, and Aron Johannsson.
He specifically named Jermaine as being NOT one of those types he was referring to.
Jermaine I really hope things work out with Fuego but if the Family, family first, moves to the D.C. area and you need a job. My club has got you.
When he first played for the US I always thought he was an American. Didn't even know he transitioned from Germany.
He obviously has an atsterisk near him by many USA soccer people because if your in the group, your in. But since he is not born in USA they use that against him. Hence why his coaching career starts at the bottom and no HOF. This exists all over USA soccer which is sad
Funny, if Jermaine Jones would have grown up only in the US. He might have a better status in the US, but he would have been a different player. He might have the better status, but not the better manager today.
And with the German national team, Jermaine was always kind of an outsider. He played for clubs that not always were considered to be good enough for an international player from Germany at that time. You had to play for Bayern, Dortmund, Schalke or Werder at that time. Or he played abroad, what might hinders to be in the public eye. And he was considered to be a flashy personality and a potential trouble maker. That was the image, if right or wrong. That might be the reason established players like Ballack and Frings were advocating for players they knew and were in the same club with (Borowski). In the end Borowski, a good player, was the guy who would sit on the bench without complaining and you could bring in for 15 to 20 minutes. Whereas Jones was a wild card for them, he was a different type of player. And they did not want to make the effort to find out if this player no. 18 or 19 on the team was different than his public image.
Sometimes people change and what they experienced in the past makes them better people today. To start at the bottom is not that bad, you don't owe anybody if you make it.
And I disagree with statement about being open as ammunition against someone. I think, if you go public, they can not harm you with that anymore. You made the decision to share that how can it used against you? Not that people have to share everything. But I don't see it as "ammunition".
When we finally got him he was still good but past his peak. Had we gotten him in his early-mid 20s man, that would have been something. We still don't have players quite like him- that physical prowess, that intensity, with the technical ability to go with it. He was a bad muhfuh.
they don't know JJ top 5 best American players all time fr fr
Landon questioning the nationality of children whose parents served and fought for this country - classic narrow minded ignorance.
i can't take these ridiculous fake studios seriously
Clint should lose his license for wearing Crocs! 🤣
Clint is the only person I would give a pass for wearing crocs.
He speaks and move like Kevin Prince Boateng. Same mannerisms!
Kate Kinda Be Hating On Americans Always Trying To Find A Divide
Jermaine has stayed in the US so in my book he’s American.
Free Jermaine Jones
Kates accent is clearly different here! More americanized!
I always messed with Jermaine Jones, that's a thorough cat right there. Played with no fear.
Damn billionaire Robert Kraft had jermaine jones paying for the revs breakfast smh!!!
Ah so Kate's Malick is a boxer. 😂
Not first 😂
First 🥇🏆
LegenD
At least 10 years on Jermaine can speak pretty good English now
Let’s be real: Landon wasn’t talking about Jermaine when he questioned whether some dual-national players didn’t love playing for the US in the same way.
Who do you think he was talking about ?
@@trecastro6504Timmy Chandler probably. But Landon’s comment was still dumb at the time.
@@samig9032I heard it's possibly Fabian Johnson
I think the Landon meant,” the other players not the one who balled out” is a real convenient narrative.
He was talking about Julian Green, if you guys remember, Landon lost his spot at WC2014 presumably to him.
JJJJJJ JONES
Who dis
No knock to USL 1 with his resume he should be on an MLS team. If he was American born he would be. Who’s that guy that keeps getting Jobs ? Armas?
UEFA Pro license and can't get a job in MLS.
charli wtf are you wearing my guy
Im sorry i would never get hype around donovan .. scored goals for our national team but as far as his futbol career its below average.. im srry the MLS was terrible 2000s and early 2010s .. jermaine produce overseas he had far better baller
Almost every European who accidentally clicks on the video laughs at the show and can't watch it for more than 2 minutes
Henry is valbuena level
No one questioned JJ heart. Man was possessed with the red white blue colors. Timmy is who everyone questioned.
Kate Abdo is so fake with the accent i get peoples accents change when the live in different places but not on a whim like hers
