Well hello there my lovelies...This song has been a bit of a...nightmare...to record...My software likes to screw with the rhythms of my recordings...Delete parts of it and then randomly crash during freezing attempts...It is also a lot harder to use effects precisely and no longer is possible to copy them onto alternative bits of songs...I have tried to record this about 3 or 4 times?? This was the final attempt before I blew up my laptop....Ah...But at least the microphone works a treat :).
So I am a very busy beaver right now. I have to record a song by the end of today for the opening of Shion, am pitching for a G&S 1920'S America version of Pirates of Penzance, am Make up Directing a smaller production of Frakenstein and also have work and the upcoming performance of Patience where I am the lead soprano for a change...
That makes life hard. That with work and going to a wedding and organising trips to Utrecht...God, it makes a difference from where I once was before? Doing nothing in the house and just pining on my youtube videos that I wanted things to do and work to pay me to do said things!! Now it's happend and I'm just mental and high off very little sleep. This weekend has been the first weekend i've had off and tbh I slept all the way through yesterday. I was just so zoinked from the week.
Next week is going to be harder because I have over time but hopefully this song will show that I am still really interested in keeping my channel up to scratch!
I was thinking of doing a question video next. Would you guys like that? Like if I had a question and answer sort of live stream where you guys get to ask me questions or request songs for me to sing on the live stream? :) We could even try to have games and what not. I think that would be a nice event.
So overall gist of my life right now...Yes, I am incredibly busy and probably will end up being a massive flake on a ton of projects duets and god...This sounds just...bleurgh. But I am a hell lot happier than I was previously. I dont think I've been depressed properly for quite a few months now? :) It's nice actually feeling...happy? God, that word feels very alien! Hahah!
Life is on the up and soon I will be moving out and into my new apartment! Would you guys like a vlog about a visit to utrecht or the new apartment in September? :) Comment about it! It would help a lot :)

It’s weird
(I don't mean to come off as mean or anything) There's just something about your voice that seems a little off, and I don't understand why I never see anyone giving you advice or constructive criticism in your comments... :/ I know that if you worked a little harder and pushed yourself more you would probably have an amazing voice, but at the moment I just find that it sounds kind of bad with the songs you choose (like off pitch or something like that). I've listened to several of your covers and I don't really see (or hear I guess) much improvement happening... I'm not saying this to make you feel bad or anything, I just think that you have lots of room to improve and that's okay we all do, we just need to recognize where we need to improve and work off that!
...Urm...Whilst I fully accept that you don't like my singing voice, I don't see anything constructive in what you just wrote. Constructive usually means that you give advice on how to improve and what to practice for the next song, or just advice in general. You have literally just wrote nothing but "I don't like it" and "You dont try hard". I work VERY hard to improve in all of my songs. My entire channel has been dedicated to the improvement of my singing voice as well as my acting/voice acting skills, in fact, 4 years of my life have been spent singing vocaloid and trying to develop a strong high range. I completely understand that sometimes I dont hit the right pitch or I fluff up the tone, but to say that I don't try hard enough??? That's utterbullshit. I work my ass off to produce a good product on EVERY SONG. It's why I do not delete any of my old content and keep it up for people to hear. It's a timeline of my singing life and what I sound like now compared to the past. If you want to see the improvement, go look at what I sang a few years back and compare it to what I sang now. If you don't hear it then just don't listen to any more of my content. I fully accept that I have a lot of work to do to be a really good singer, but by saying I don't push myself to improve or that I'm not improving, there's not much point in listening to my content.
This is what I would say about my own improvement and what I need to do next:
x. Learn a warm up technique so that the high notes are hit with less strain
x. Try to improve on vibrato techniques so that notes are not flat
x. Learn how to harmonise in order to give the song some depth
x. Work on singing pronounciation so that all words are heard and do not slide away into a stream of a sentence
x. Improve on editing skills so that the volumes do not clash or are too high
Next time, please actually include ADVICE and CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, instead of claiming that I do not push myself or that I don't work hard on my songs. This is an example of what constructive criticism looks like on my channel:

My only criticism is that your vowels were too tall. Try to widen them SLIGHTLY. It
isn't necessary, but it helps with the more pop like songs.
They have stated what they didn't like (the vowels) and how to improve on them (by widening them) and the reason why it would help me (because of the song genre). :)

Ok ok ok, I can admit that that was worded poorly and obviously I'm not a troll, I don't even know where you got that idea from.
It seems like (from the perspective of someone who doesn't personally know you and thus cannot actually know) you aren't pushing yourself too hard with your singing, because I've listened to your older songs and then listened to your newer songs and couldn't really hear much of an improvement??? Like I can't actually know, maybe you are pushing yourself really hard, but I personally do not see much change. Which doesn't necessarily mean you're not trying hard enough, so sorry for saying that if it bothered you.
AND if you are looking for specifics of "constructive criticism" I'd say that your singing style seems to be Broadway-ish and the songs you're choosing to sing do not fit a Broadway voice at all. Like, I'm bad at describing things but I can DEFINITELY see you doing a Broadway song quite nicely, but vocaloid just doesn't mix with that nicely???? If you maybe tried to either steer towards sing more Broadway-ish songs or change your style of singing to match the style of song??? Idk I'm really bad at converting thoughts into words but I tried.

The fact that you presented a lot of "critique" without any real critique? It seemed to turn it into something trollish and actually relatively upsetting.
I don't even know how to respond to your first point. I have listened to a lot of my old songs back from 2012 onwards and I can hear a major difference between then and now. I can hear a change in my vibrato, in how I raise my pitch, the appear to have smoothed out and are less harsh than they used to be. I am experimenting with harmonies, I have music editing and more than just a ton of revertb. I have also seem to be keeping in rhythm far better than how I used too, as a lot of my old songs have me singing at a slower tempo. I am pushing myself REALLY HARD. I have new equipment that I have to relearn and I can hear my high notes becoming stronger. I think you worded the previous comment very harshly and even when you saw now that you can't hear much change, I am quite upset about that. Listen to my songs back from 2012. I' m not sure what else to say about it to be honest. I dont want to go on a rampage because I am clearly not going to change your opinion. I am upset but I will get over it. You don't think I have improved. I personally think I have.
Originally when I first started singing I did try to do a lot of broadway and musical songs, but as I grew I became far more interested in vocaloid and that sort of electric sound. When you said previously that you don't understand why a lot of my audience doesn't critique me (or probably write that they like my songs) it's because they enjoy how the musical element of my voice can bring that theatrical essence to the song. They like that I can merge vocaloid with something a bit more dramatic than just an average unemotional voice. I think what stops me from making it perfect is my editing right now, as I have yet to fully engage with my new software.
Nevertheless, I am not going to change my style of singing or switch to broadway songs. I sing whatever takes my fancy. My youtube is a tool to help me improve my voice on my own preferences and interests. Whilst I appreciate how you have explained your thoughts, it would probably be best to find a different dubber who suits your tastes. I do not have nerves and the "shake" is my vibrato. It's what most singers have when they attempt to hit a higher pitch. Right now I am also singing a lot of G&S Edwardian operas, so my vibrato has clearly changed from that.
Thank you for your critique and I hope you find a singer/ dubber that is more to your tastes.
one last thing, I wasn't really trying to "critique" you on the first one, I was just expressing my opinion lol. but ye glad we smoothed this over. (and yea i know what vibrato is, my mind just mixes words a lot and i get really confused) Anyways i hope for you the best.

Why is the audio messed up?
Your singing style while singing this song does not match the style of the actual song. It doesn’t fit the song at all. It seems like you tried way too hard to make it seem like you’re singing in an opera with the vibration in your voice while singing the very high notes. Like you’re on broadway or something. I’m not trying to be mean and I’m not the best at explaining my thoughts but maybe try a different style next time?
