  • Here are my experiences with both track lengths and some suggestions on what track length you might want to choose.

Thanks for your input! This is EXACTLY the kind of definitions I've been looking for. Not just the 155 v 165 perspective, but the Pro-RMK v Khaos perspective as well. Then you also added some of the rider weight considerations. TYVM!

Appreciate that perspective. There's so many options these days with all the variants it's tough to navigate. I have an Axys 163 with a tunnel chop. The front end is definately planted and it can be ridden around very slow in the deepest of snow. The tunnel cut helped with a little more ski lift in deep stuff which was a surprise.

The axys is so light and super capable in the deep snow. Have you tried different spring preloads on your track shocks?

Oddly no, it's worked so well I haven't touch it. Our Skidoo Expedition on the other hand took a full season of tweaking, polaris skis, and ski shocks to get right. I've thought about adding the coil over QS3 on the Axys track just for the ability to quickly adjust it from playful to planted. @@JasonCaville

@@CraigVanSickleAK Thant might work out great for you. When I had my Axys with the stock Walker Evans, I would add more preload to the front track shock and soften up the rear. Definitely helped lighten up the steering but didn’t make it trench. Win win.

I have the exact sled with the 2.75 track and I absolutely love it. A friend of mine tried it coming from a 165 skidoo turbo and was amazed by the amount it wants to wheelie lol

Totally agree with 154,155 being for more aggressive riders. I've always ridden that length. For me, it's about track speed and "working" for it, which is more fun and makes you a better rider

More maneuverable too. Especially with the new slash tunnel

Agree 100% Went with the 155 Khaos this year also. What a fun sled to rip around on. The 165 was just too tame for my liking

One buddy needs a 9R 155 and the other Boost 165. Both Khaos. Both 325. Trade all day

In sweden we decide between 146 vs 155" ,no one use 165 anymore..most popular now is 146" especially with the 9r engine

Its the same in norway. The 146 is a popular choice with i'm considering myself. Im curently on a 155 but im thinking about cuting the tunnel to make the 146 swap work.

Heres what you do, buy the 155 and buy a track, rails, and clutch for a 165. Now you have 2 snowmobiles

Versus a Khaos, yes. But the 165 is going to be the best for sidehilling.

I would say it's more about being in control on a 165. A 155 doesn't necessarily make you a more aggressive rider, wreckless maybe
